Romeo Alpha Delta Trophy in Jetpack Joyride

  • Romeo Alpha Delta

    Fly over 5kms

How to unlock Romeo Alpha Delta

This is arguably the hardest trophy in the game, but with a little persistence, it's not too difficult. 5 kilometres is 5000 metres. Getting up to 5 kilometres will require practice and a little bit of luck. The game is randomised so I can't really give you an exact strategy. However, I can give a few tips:

    • Don't focus on coins. They can lead to death. Try to collect spin tokens but don't go out of your way to get them.
    • Collect vehicles at every opportunity. These give you an extra hit and the speed slows down a little when you first acquire them. They can be great assets when you learn to use them as you can cover a lot of ground quickly.
    • Use gadgets to your advantage. Plenty of them can be a great help to you when going for the trophy. Try them if you need a little extra help and use the ones best suited to your playing style. The most useful ones for this trophy are below:
      • Air Barrys - Great for a little extra jump to avoid obsticles.
      • Insta-Ball - This can get you a few extra metres after death.
      • Gravity Belt - Similar to Air Barrys, but I wouldn't recommend it.
      • Missile Jammer - Causes some missiles to fail.
      • Token Gift - This gives an extra spin token which you could win a prize from at the end, such as a final blast or revival.
      • Freeze-O-Matic - Similar to the Insta-Ball. You'll go a little bit further.
      • Ezy-Dodge Missiles - This has the same effect as the Missile Jammer.
      • Magnetic Tokens - This brings the spin tokens closer to you, which could win you a final blast or revival.
      • Free Ride - A free vehicle at the beginning. That's an extra hit and a useful vehicle too.
      • Lucky Last - You'll definitely win your last spin.
      • Dezapinator - This occasionally causes zappers to fail and not kill you.
      • Turbo Boost - This speeds you along and eliminates nearby hazards.
    • The slot machine appears to follow a set pattern. If you wait until the red arrow on the right disappears, activate the slot machine at that exact time and you should probably win. The timing needs to be precise though.
    • If you need them, there are several utilities to help you out such as the (Super) Head Start, Final Blast and Quick Revive. If you think that you'll need these, it's best to save cash and buy in bulk. They are very costly though and I wouldn't recommend buying these unless it's absolutely necessary. You can however make a backup of your save, buy these utilities and attempt the trophy. Should you fail, restore the save an try again. This way, you won't lose money. If you succeed, you can restore the save when you unlock the trophy with your money unspent. You should note that you can only use one of each utility per attempt. For example, you can use a Head Start, Quick Revive and Final Blast in one game, but you cannot use Head Start more than once per game, Quick Revive more than once per game and Final Blast more than once per game.
    • Practice makes perfect. Keep trying and you'll see that you'll gradually get better. Unless it's your last trophy, I wouldn't worry too much about specifically trying to obtain it because you might get it in regular gameplay after a while.

This must be done in one attempt as it's not cumulative.

  • Hard to do, I cant get past around 3km
  • A tip from the iOS and Android version: buy the Air Barry's and the gravity belt. This way you can jump faster from the floor and drop down faster making it easier to evade the beams/lasers and/or rockets.
  • i got it easily on the vita version, but my best on ps3 is 4,955 so far. ugh
  • Just can't get there. Only trophy I need but best is about 4,600 and I usually struggle to get past 3,000. So frustrating!
  • I'm saving this for last but I'm assuming buying a triple pack of "Final Blasts" and "Quick Revives" plus the bouncy ball and ice cube would make this pretty easy?
  • Not really. You can only use one revive and blast each run, so it still takes some doing.
  • So I am guessing this means you have to Fly over 5kms in one go?
  • yes, sadly. It's taken me forever to get it, but obviously is possible. Didn't have any of the handy gadgets talked about in the above post. I got lucky with a revive early on and managed to make it thanks to all of the machine pickups in game (mr cuddles especially helpful). Slowed things down and protected me from missles/zappers. Best advice I can give besides that is stay in the middle and light touch as it speeds up constantly bobbing up and down so you can go either way quickly.
  • my highscore is about 4600 points so i'm really close o this trophy but I can't seem to get the all important 5km so can someone help please PSN:hannahmatt13 http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/hannahmatt13/383937754955810?fref=ts Like me on Facebook
  • i struggle to get past 2,000 lol
  • Hard to get :/
  • "A tip from the iOS and Android version: buy the Air Barry's and the gravity belt. This way you can jump faster from the floor and drop down faster making it easier to evade the beams/lasers and/or rockets." This helped me a lot thx for the tips ;)
  • Erm I struggle to get past 1,000.. How am I supposed to get FIVE thousand if I have never made it to 2 thousand without a 750m headstart AND a small bomb??
  • Just got it after hours of trying! I suggest unlocking and using the Turbo Boost and Dezapinator gadgets. They are the last 2 on the list. Also stay in the middle, don't look at the distance you've traveled, and forget about coins.
  • I got over 6000 in one of my first runs..on android..my brother's.. Now I can get around 4000..let's see how far I get on ps3
  • 4700...what's wrong with this trophy ? @@=##!!! I thought Yatta (megadrive collection) was a hard one but this...
  • I actually had on the coin magnet and gem and just made sure to always get one of the vehicle powerups when one came up and use it as long as possible and then yea, stay to the middle and don't even look anywhere but the very right edge of the screen and keep your character in your peripheral vision. the yellow sticks out enough to be able to move your character while you just focus on whats coming next. Well, at least thats what I did. I thought the ball and the ice block would be the best thing to do. But I had given up for a bit just to do missions. Collect as many TOKENS as possible too so if you do die before getting to the 5,000 mark you can have as many chances as possible for either the explosives to throw you further or a heart to let you keep going. if you can afford a heart in t
  • ...i take it there is a character limit. oops...
  • 4980km. This trophy is simply frustating...
  • my best is 39xx something that time i got 8 tokens but win none dammit
  • too hard
  • Ugh soo very annoying :(
  • This isn't that bad. I used the AIR BARRYS and INSTA-BALL to reach 5.3 km. The most important thing is to try and get the VEHICLES. Also, make sure to buy a BIG BLAST so you can get that extra distance at the end of your run.
  • I got it FEW TIMES already on PS Vita without even really going for it !!! But on PS3 it somehow seems to be a lot more difficult !!!
  • Not bad at all, do what Bournefort17 recommend, BUT IN ADDITION, buy an extra life. You can use that AND the bomb to get further distance after you die.
  • Holy **** YES!! Got 5047m HAHAHA!! Time to delete the game..
  • Used Lucky Last and Magnetic Tokens for gadgets for PS3 version. It just takes luck and concentration to pull off.
  • got lucky when i got hit by the lasers and landed at 4,900 meters then got a small blast (or small dynamite) and luckily got 5,050 and the trophy popped. this is without any head starts and only the air barrys and gravity belt
  • After 692 days of struggle I finally have this trophy and remember like hannahmatt13 of facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/hannahmatt13/383937754955810?ref=ts&fref=ts
  • I have the perfect strategy. It took me 2 hours but it's fairly easy once you get the hang of it. You want to start off by running and flying as far as you can. Once the screen moves so fast that you can't see what comes next, put the controller in your lap and press X to fly with your right hand and press the start button with your left hand. When you pause the game you'll be able to see what is coming up next. Press and unpress start so that your screen inches forward. Also, you want to stay close to the ground and equip to your character AIR BARRYS so when you see and obstacle you can jump over it, and lucky last. Another note, save up to puchase a one time heart and bomb use. If you can manage to get to 4 km, activate your heart and if you can get to around 4.7 or 4.8 km, activate your
  • bomb. Hope this helps! If anyone needs help just add me and I'll try to explain it better!
