Knockout in the Blackout Trophy in inFamous 2

  • Knockout in the Blackout

Defeat 50 enemies in powered down areas while no missions are active.

How to unlock Knockout in the Blackout

    Missable

You’ll know you’ve entered a powered down area when the game notifies you, well, that you’re entering a powered down area on the top of your screen. Your mini-map on the bottom right corner will also produce static. On your map (), you’ll notice that island/areas to your right and the top are grayed out; those are the powered down areas.

    Powered Down Areas

Entering these areas, much like the first game, will result in higher enemy encounter rates and be pitted against much stronger enemies, such as enemies behind shielded turrets and militants with mini-guns. It is suggested you go about this trophy once you’ve at least acquired the Ionic Vortex. You have a very limited supply in terms of restoring your energy, so if you're having trouble, come back to this trophy when you've reached at least Hero on your good karma playthrough; the passive ability restores your energy every time your bolts hit an enemy. Bio Leeching your enemies however, works just as fine.

Kill 50 enemies in these areas, and the trophy will unlock. Note that even if you die, your progress will still carry over. Remember, you must kill these 50 enemies when you're not in the middle or a story mission or side mission as the trophy description describes.

  • It is probably easiest to get this trophy when the (name escapes me, something with an 'a') parish is out since the militia is weaker than ice soldiers. Just stick to the rooftops to get behind turrets and use a blast on the machine gunners to stun them long enough to melee them. If you are doing this in the industrial section then get on top of the large tankers and use the artillery bolt or any grenade down at the enemies.
  • so it says when no missions are active. Does that mean side missions? because there isn't really a point where theres no story missions. just no side missions
  • iNoland, it just means that you gotta do it while not actively on a mission. Just do it at some point when you are running around getting shards/dead drops.
  • The best way to get this one is to stand on the most north tower next to the big bridge to the second island. On this tower is a rechargeable device which can be used over and over again after some time. The Enemies are all screwing around underneath and surround the tower. Just stand here and kill them all from above
  • Had to get this one the hard way. I, unfortunately, waited till the end to figure out this one. Got it while the very last area was without power.
  • I found this one very easy cept for the gun turrents which are a pain in the arse if you run out of electricity just zap charge something metal & drain it instant recharge but you might have to give it a couple of charges depending on how much zap you gave the item
  • I did this after getting the Ionic Vortex, before you restore power to Ascension Parish. Mostly ran around rooftops and hit enemies with bolts, occasionally coming down for a melee and then bio leech to restore energy. It was fun trying to do it and not get killed, with no easy recharge available.
  • found out that I hadn't got this after I completed the game twice, now i have to start all over again :(
  • I'm going to echo what's been said about doing this early in the game and in Ascension Parish. I would suggest just trying to take out a few enemies at a time and then doing other missions. Not having to worry about it later in the game is worth the time early on. You don't even really have to have any powered up abilities to take out the militia in Ascension Parish, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  • Save this one for the evil run through - then bio leech all the way for recharges!
