Show / Hide Guide Roadmap

Overview:
-Estimated trophy difficulty: 9/10
-Overall number of trophies: 51
-Offline: 40
-Online: 10
-Approx time to Platinum: 75+ hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
Number of missable trophies: Driving Mr Bellic
-Glitched trophies: None
-Do cheat codes disable trophies?: Yes (Walked Free, One Man Army, Cleaned the Mean Streets and Finish Him)

How to go about doing this
Finish the story mode first. Focus on just completing the missions because if you start going for side missions and USJ, Flying Rats etc then you will lose lose valuable time trying to get the Liberty City Minute trophy. To see how much you're alive friends like you, press start and then go onto stats. After you have completed the missions you can focus on completing the game to 100%. The only thing that I have struggled with is the flying rats and USJ. I would consider using a guide for them. Use a guide to also find where the random characters are and even when you get the trophy to meet all of them remember that some have more than one mission so try to find them again as these missions do count towards 100%, many people have struggled to figure out what they have missed because of the random characters. Before you go to the wedding mission make sure that Roman likes you enough to let you use his taxi's for free

Multiplayer
I would strongly advise posting for a partner in the trophy boosting thread because they can help on getting all the car races finished for Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic. Ranking up will take a while to do and the Fly The Co-op trophy will take co-operation from both or more members of the team or you can just say goodbye to completing it within the time limits.

Many people have said that Auf Weidersehen Petrovic is glitched and that it has to be done in one sitting. THIS IS NOT TRUE. People have got the trophy in more than one sitting so it is possible. If stats havent recorded dont go online wait till it adds what you've done to you're stats. The GTAIV servers are crap so they are the start of peoples problems.

Tips from RedEye420
For Liberty City(5) and Liberty City Minute
1. ALWAYS answer the phone when your friends call. Not answering the phone will automatically decrease that friend's "like" rating.
2. NEVER reject a friend's request to hang out. Rejecting a friend's request to hang out will automatically decrease that friend's "like" rating. ALWAYS accept a friend's request to hang out.
3. If you are trying to play through the game quickly to obtain the "Liberty City Minute" trophy then you just don't have time to hang out with friends. After accepting a friend's request to hang out, select "Cancel Plans" under that friend's name in the phonebook (i.e. Phonebook>Roman>Cancel Plans). You will receive NO PENALTY for calling a friend back and explaining that you just don't have time for pointless meanderings. You are Niko Bellic!!!
4. Don't forget to cancel plans with your friend after accepting their request to hang out. Failing to appear at an arranged meeting without selecting the "Cancel Plans" option will automatically decrease that friend's "like" rating.
5. This is done the easiest at the end of the game. Many of the missions that you do will increase "like" ratings from a friend who is involved with that mission. Don't worry about your decisions in the game. Rockstar made sure that none of your choices void you from being able to obtain a trophy and they are
all retroactive*.

*There actually is one trophy that you could miss if you choose "Deal" over "Revenge" at the end of the game. Most players will easily obtain the "Driving MR. Bellic" trophy through normal play and will not have to worry about this but some of you have been telling me that you missed this rushing through the game. If you choose "Deal" then Roman won't be around at the end of the game to unlock this trophy. However, if Roman is around at the end of the game then you will have no problems. It's retroactive...but technically miss-able (very technically). I HIGHLY recommend unlocking this trophy during the course of the first few missions and if you follow my steps, you will do this easily. You gain like rating for completing certain missions that involve friends and Roman has plenty of these. Just prevent your like rating from decreasing and you will get this easily.

The Lost and Damned DLC

Overview
Estimated trophy difficulty: 2/10
Offline: 5 (5 0 0)
Online: 0 (0 0 0)
Approximate amount of time to get all trophies: 6-8 hours
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
Number of missable trophies: None.
Glitched trophies: None
Do cheats disable trophies? No
Does difficulty affect trophies? N/A

Welcome back to Liberty City! The DLC is finally here, folks! This time, you'll be playing the role of Jonathan "Johnny" K., a member of the Lost motorcycle gang. This DLC is one part of the two-part "Episodes from Liberty City". The second DLC, of course, is the Ballad of Gay Tony.

Just like the other DLC, this DLC also includes new vehicles, a new radio station, new weapons and, finally, new multiplayer modes. However, in comparison to the sister DLC, the trophies here are much easier to attain; 3 are plot-based and 2 you get from doing simple, yet somewhat time-consuming, tasks. Also, it should be noted that, while there are new multiplayer modes, there are no online/multiplayer trophies.

When you start, the very first thing you should do is press , and under "Game" make sure that Autosave is ON. If you quit the game without enabling save or even just saving, you'll have to start the DLC all over.

That said, I should add that, as stated in the Overview, GTA IV cheats do work and, as far as this DLC goes, they do NOT disable trophies, so use that to your advantage! Check this thread for info on how to activate the cheats (credits go to ILikeChurros for the list). I would recommend the following cheats for this DLC (dial the numbers into your cell):

  1. Full health, armor, and ammunition - 4825550100
  2. Weapons tier 1 - 4865550150
  3. Remove your wanted level - 2675550100
  4. Spawn Comet - 2275550175
  5. Spawn NRG-900 - 6255550100 (This one is very important for the side missions, as you will need a bike for those).

In total, there are 22 core ("main") missions in this DLC, and in terms of 'format' they do not differ much from the original GTA IV. You will definitely run into Niko a few times, and there will be some overlapping in terms of plot between this DLC and the Ballad of Gay Tony, as they both take place around the same time.

For a guide on the missions, check out the GTA IV The Lost and Damned Walkthrough (from gtagaming.com).

In addition, there are 25 Gang Wars and 12 Bike Races, both are side missions that you may need to do a few times for two of the trophies, though you do NOT need to win any of the races and the Gang Wars are rather unnecessary but they do make one of the trophies easier to obtain (See "Full Chat" trophy description for more info).

The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC

Overview:

Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 6/10
Offline: 10
Online: 0
Completion Time: 10-20 hours
Minimum Playthroughs: 1
Missable Trophies: None.
Glitched Trophies: None
Do Cheats Disable Trophies? 1: Gold Star. (See cheats below).

Introduction:

The Ballad of Gay Tony is the second piece of DLC released for GTA IV. You play as Luis Fernando Lopez, a Dominican ex-drug-dealer. He is now the personal bodyguard of Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince, a successful nightclub owner and socialite. After the morose and depressing play in the Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony is a return to the high octane days of Vice City and San Andreas.

Bigger guns, better missions and more interesting characters make this an episode worth checking out. Almost a game in itself, it puts many other companies DLC to shame.

Roadmap:

STEP 1: The Main Story
The best place to start is the main story missions. Play the game through from beginning to end. You will unlock everything you need along the way, and earn some much needed cash which you can use for weapons later on. There are 26 main story missions that you need to work through. All you have to do is follow up all the initialed icons on the map. If you are in a rush, use the taxi’s to jump straight to them.

At the end of the story, you will have unlocked:
TBoGT: Diamonds Forever
TBoGT: Maestro

STEP 2: Gang Wars
These missions are short and generally involve stealing some form of stash. They can generally be completed in less than ten minutes each, so they won’t take too long. They can get a little boring and repetitive though.

After 25 Gang War missions, you will have unlocked:
TBoGT: Snow Queen

STEP 3: Mission Maximum
Clearing every mission to 100% can take quite a while. It basically doubles the lifespan of the game. But once you get into ‘clearance mode’, they can be rattled off fairly painlessly. It’s a good thing that the missions are good fun though, as replaying bad ones would have been painful. Allow 7 or 8 hours to clear all 26 missions.  Please see the trophy guide for a walkthrough of all missions.

After clearing every mission, you will have unlocked:
TBoGT: Past the Velvet Rope
TBoGT: Gold Star

STEP 4: Miscellaneous
All that is left then is to complete the base jumps, win the fighting championship, hit the flag a few times in the driving range, dance in the clubs and perform the ultimate skydive. These can be completed at any time and in any order. They are all relatively quick to complete. It's just a matter of doing them

After tying up the loose ends, you will have unlocked:
TBoGT: Gone Down
TBoGT: Four Play
TBoGT: Bear Fight
TBoGT: Catch the Bus
TBoGT: Adrenaline-Junkie

Cheats: The trophies in TBoGT are not disabled by the use of cheats. The only drawback is that mission scores are disallowed if a cheat is used during that mission. So keep their use strictly between missions only. They can prove handy at times though, just to keep everything moving. Here are a few that could prove useful:

Full Health: 362-555-0100
Full Health and Ammo: 482-555-0100
Loose Wanted Level: 267-555-0100
Spawn FBl Buffalo: 227-555-0100

They should help you to have full Health, Armor and Weapons before starting each mission. The FBI Buffalo is also a handy spawn car. A good all-rounder, it is fast, stable, toll exemption and has four doors so that you can carry passengers. The siren also helps out from time to time.

[PS3T Would Like to Thank Savenger for this Road Map]

Off The Boat
You have completed the first mission.

The trophy will be unlocked after you complete the first mission, "The Cousins Bellic" which is the training mission, which acclimates you to how to drive the car and navigate around. Complete the mission by escorting Roman back to his apartment.

One Hundred And Eighty
You scored 180 with 3 darts.

Go to any bar/pub that has a dartboard, you do not need to do this with a friend. If you don't know where to go to play darts, you can call up a friend and ask to play some darts. After you pick them up, the location will be on your radar. Once at the pub, walk up to the board and start the game with L1. Then, when the target is hovering over the triple 20 (inside ring, top number), press L2 to steady your aim, throw the dart by pressing X.
Then do it 2 more times in a row.
**Can be done after completing story mode**

**Note About Darts**
This is for those of you who are not familiar with the rules of darts. The particular game played in the pubs is "301" which means that both players start at 301, and work their way down to 0. You need to hit 0 exactly, if you go over (under) you will bust and have to try again.

On the board you will notice 20 slices each worth a different number of points. Shoot the dart into a slice, and you will knock that amount of points off your total on your way down to zero. Along the outer rim of the board, you will notice a ring. This ring is worth double. So if you're shooting at a 20, and your dart lands in the double ring, it's worth 40. Likewise, you will notice an inner ring, which is worth triple points (and the one needed for this trophy).

Now, above and beyond simply shooting darts for this trophy, it is also required that you beat all of your friends at darts (who enjoy darts, and are needed for 100% completion). As you work your way down to zero, you need to keep in mind that your final dart that brings you exactly to zero must be shot into the doubles ring in order for you to win.

For example, if you have 13 points, shooting a 13 will bust your score (no double), as well as shooting a 14 will (going over). An example of a winning set for a 13 score would be to shoot a 3, and then a double 5 for your final dart.

Pool Shark
You beat a friend at pool.

The quickest way to get this started is call up a friend and ask to play some pool. This can be done while you're working for any of the friend trophies, such as "Dial B for Bomb" and also when you're trying to pick up a girl for "Warm Coffee."

After you pick your friend up, the location will be on your radar. Once at the pub, walk up to the table and start the game with L1. Billiards can be a rather complex game, but GTA has done a fairly good job of simplifying it. In essence, one player shoots the striped balls in, the other shoots the solids, and once a player has their balls sunk, they may shoot for the 8-ball. When the 8 is pocketed after all other balls are, that player wins. However, if the 8 is pocketed before the rest of your balls, you lose.

When it's your turn, you will see a dotted white line coming from your ball. This is the path your ball will take when you shoot. The computer actually does a very good job of lining the shots up for you. If you do no aiming, take the shot that it gives you, you should make the ball almost every time.

When you are looking down the path your ball will take, press X to enter shooting mode. Now pull the right stick back to pull the stick back, and push it forward to shoot. Those are the basics you will need to win the game. Almost all advanced billiards mechanics such as English are included in the game, but to obtain the trophy you shouldn't need to worry about those things.

If you find yourself struggling, as is stated, one of the main rules of billiards is if you shoot the 8 ball early, you lose, so wait and eventually an opponent may shoot that ball in for you, granting you an automatic win.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

King of QUB3D
You beat the high score in QUB3D.

QUB3D is a machine that can be found all round the island. There is one in first strip club as you go in the front door on the left. There is also one in the same bar as the first pool hall you enter. (See "Pool Shark") The high score is 10,950, but the trophy will not unlock until after you finish the game. The main point of Qub3d is that blocks will fall from the top to the bottom much like Tetris, and you need to get similar colors to land so that 4 blocks of the same color are connected, and then that color block will disappear.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Here's a video from HotShotCMS showing how Qub3d is played:

Finish Him
You completed 10 melee counters in 4 minutes.

A counter is performed in a fist fight by pressing to dodge when your opponent attacks you, then following up with to make your counter attack.

The most important part of this achievement is timing. When your opponent swings at you, quickly press and hold X to dodge their attack, then let up X and press down Circle to counter them while their arm is still extended in attack position. Complete 10 of those within 4 minutes.

Note: If you die, it does not reset your counter-count, you pick up right where you left off, you only lose the amount of time wasted dying and respawning.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Genetically Superior
You came first in 20 singleplayer street races.

After completing the mission "Number 1" for Brucie, you unlock the ability to compete in street races. Brucie will call you on your phone soon after the mission is over, and explain that any time you want to race, give him a call to set one up. Win 20 races to unlock the trophy.

Now, initially you only have the option to do 9 races, as is the total required for 100%. You need to be standing on the 1st island and call Brucie, he will then set you up for one of the three possible races on the 1st island. Once all three are completed, he will tell you that there are no more. You then need to travel to Algonquin, call him, win those three races, then go to Alderney, call him, and win those three races.

After that, he will send you a text message telling you that you won all the races, and can call him back whenever to race any of them again. At this point, you have completed your quota for 100% completion, but still need 11 more for the trophy. At this point, they work like every other friend activity. Sometimes he won't answer, sometimes he won't know of any, and sometimes he'll set you up with a race.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Wheelie Rider
You completed a 500 foot wheelie on a motorbike.

Obtain a bike and head for the airport. Go to one end of the runway, and start to accelerate. While doing this, pull back on the left stick to start you wheelie. Keep going as far as you can, and then let your bike down. If you made it far enough, the achievement will unlock, if not, return to the end and try again. The runway works best because you have a very long distance where you can drive perfectly straight without worrying about cars pulling in front of you. It is also important to note that performing a wheelie is easier on a slower bike, such as a moped style bike, so if you're having trouble maintaining a wheelie, seek out one of these and you may have better luck.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Gobble Gobble
You got a turkey in 10-pin bowling.

A great tip for the 3 Strikes in a Row (Bowling) which always works, is the following:

- Choose a Half-Time or a Full-Time Game, it doesn't matter.
- Go to the left (first) lane.
- Wait till Niko gets the ball in his hands.
- Hold the left stick to the left, till Niko does 2 whole steps to the left.
- Press X to get into shooting position.
- Push the right stick down for 1 second (if you bring it back too soon, you will throw the ball too fast and you won't get the strike), then push it back up. When pushing it forward, try to push it straight up, and just a hair to the right.
- Repeat 2 more times in a row

**Can be done after completing story mode**
Thanks to HotShotCMS for this video as well!

Rolled Over
You managed 5 car rolls in a row from one crash.

Head to the airport runway in a fast car (Infernus, Super GT, police.... etc). Scattered in the grass by the runway you will see small yellow ramps. Locate one, retreat back aways, approach at top speed, aim for only half your car to actually hit the ramp, and sit back and count the spins.

There is also a method of stringing together rolls to get the trophy, see video:

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Walk Free
You successfully lost a 4 star wanted rating.

Get yourself a 2 star wanted level. Then summon a cab by calling your cousin Roman, provided you have unlocked "Driving Mr. Bellic," and choose a destination a far distance from you. While riding, hold L2 and you'll aim your gun out the window. Then cause as much mayhem as possible until you get up a 4 star wanted level. Then let go of L2 and press X and you'll be transported to your destination with no police around, so your level will disappear. This only works in one of your cousin's cabs, as in a standard taxi, the driver will run away if you earn a wanted level.
**Can be done after completing story mode**

Here is a video showing another method:
http://ve3tro.com/gta/getaway.mp4

Yet another method:

Courier Service
You completed all 10 package delivery jobs.

These are Little Jacob's side missions, and require you to deliver some..... "product" for him.

This is much easier than the game leads you to believe. Call Jacob on the phone and ask him for work to get the mission started. Hail a cab with L1, and have them take you to the car where the product is. Once you get out of the cab, immediately hail it again so it doesn't drive off. Then get in the car, and immediately get back out and run to your waiting cab. Have the taxi take you to your destination, and get out and hail it again. Run to the drop off point, deliver the package, and call Jacob for another job. The taxi should be still waiting for you to begin the process all over again.

There are three types of deliveries that will take place:
*You drop off the drugs and you're done (taxi will still be waiting for you)
*You get ambushed by a rival gang (taxi will still be waiting for you)
*You have to lose your wanted level (taxis will not wait for you if you have a wanted level)

Go here for in-depth mission details:

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Chain Reaction
You exploded 10 vehicles in 10 seconds.

Go to a local ammunition supplier and obtain some explosives, the rocket launcher and standard grenades work the best. Once you have these, choose anywhere in town that makes you happy, preferably somewhere busy. Go into the road, steal a car, and park it so that it blocks traffic. Then steal another one and make the pile of cars bigger. Once you have at least 10 cars in a big pile, start detonating them, and then any surrounding cars until the trophy unlocks.
**Can be done after completing story mode**

Here is the trophy in action by way of a slightly different method:

Order Fulfilled
You completed all 10 Exotic Export orders.

These are Brucie's side missions that are available through the internet at the Tw@ cafes. Log into your email, accept the car by replying to the e-mail, hail a cab and have them take you to the location on the map, retrieve the vehicles, and then return them to Brucie's garage.

Sometimes you will have to jack them off other people, steal them from in front of the cops or other fun tasks. The better the condition, the more money you get at the garage. You will have to lose your wanted level before the garage takes them however. Use Pay N' Sprays to repair the car if necessary.

Go here for in-depth mission details:
http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/92909-post7.html

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Manhunt
You completed the most wanted side mission.

After you complete "Crime and Punishment" you will have access to police computers. When you enter a police car, and are parked, press L1 to open up the police's computer. Choose to view the most wanted criminals. Each island has 10 criminals that need to be dealt with. When you select your criminal of choice from the Most Wanted menu, a GPS beacon appears on your map and takes you right to them.

Go here for in-depth mission details:
http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/92908-post6.html

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Cleaned The Mean Streets
You caught 20 criminals through the police computer.

After you complete "Crime and Punishment" you will have access to police computers. When you enter a police car, and are parked, press L1 to open up the police's computer. In there you will see a menu to "View Current Crimes." This is going to be your classic Vigilante mission that we've all grown to love. The best part is, they no longer have to be done all at once, you can take your merry time and do them at your leisure.

When you select a current crime on your computer, a red GPS beaon will appear on your map taking you to the offender. Eliminate them, and then repeat with 19 more offenders of peace and justice.

If your police car becomes damaged, here is an easy way to get a new one. Choose an offender to go after. Quickly head to the crime scene, as you're timed on how fast you get there. Once you arrive, you can take your time, so as soon as you arrive at the scene, start wreaking havoc until police arrive to stop you. Kill both cops that come out of the car, then kill the offender. As soon as you complete your mission, your wanted level automatically disappears, so you can go and take the freshly slain cops' car free of charge.

As a note, the computer will tell you what type of a crime you will be going after. Criminal on foot will be the easiest, up to a stolen car chase will take the longest.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

It'll Cost Ya
You made a taxi trip from one island to another without skipping.

When you see a taxi drive past you, you can hail it by pressing L1, then enter it by walking up to it and holding down Triangle. Once inside, you choose your destination, and you are taken there. You have the option to skip the trip by pressing X (much faster). For this trophy, pick up a taxi on one island, choose a destination on another, and sit there for the entire ride.

The shortest way to do this is to go to the map and set a way point (hit X) on end of a bridge. Get into a taxi, and have him take you there. Then get out, and immediately press L1 again and get back in the cab. Now go into the map and set a way point for the other side of the bridge. Have him drive there, and the achievement will unlock.

You can also get this trophy on the bridge over to the other island. When the taxi goes to pay the toll, shoot at the car in front of you. The cabbie will get out, and the trophy should unlock.
**Can be done after completing story mode**

Sightseer
You have taken all variations of the helicopter tours of Liberty City.

Go to the Helitours icon on the second island (Right near the bottom).
At the Helitours icon, you will see 5 helicopter landing locations in the shape of a "T." Go on all 5 helicopters by holding Triangle near them; you may have to wait for some to get back, because they will not all be waiting for you at the same time. You also may skip the trip if you wish, and the tour will still count.
**Can be done after completing story mode**

Warm Coffee
You were invited into your girlfriend's house.

Throughout the game there are several women that you have the option of dating. Once you take them out, if they like you enough, when you bring them back home, you will have the option to press X to take them to bed. How much they like you is based on several factors, such as the car you're driving, where you purchased your clothes, and where you take her.

Listed below are the women possible to date, how to meet them, the cars they most prefer to be picked up in, their favorite clothing stores, their top 4 or so favorite social venues (% is based on how much the woman likes that place, out of 100), and finally if sleeping with the woman nets you any special ability. If you sleep with one of the women that do have an ability, there is no rhyme or reason to when they offer it to you. Sometime after you sleep with them you will receive a call from the woman offering her services.

Half Million
You have amassed a fortune of $500,000.

This will unlock as soon as you have $500,000 on hand. After a little while into the game, the missions become worth around $10,000 to $15,000 apiece. Also, when completing Brucie's email missions and Stevie's text message missions, the cars are worth more money if they are in good condition, so remember, as is mentioned in that section of the guide, Pay N' Spray your car before returning it to him. You can also perform odd jobs for people all over town, drive taxis, kill hookers, and other things that it just wouldn't be a GTA game without, to collect enough money to reach this lofty bankroll.

You will also receive $250,000 for completing the mission "Three Leaf Clover," as well as another $250,000 for the deal/revenge mission, so those two missions alone will net you the trophy.

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Full Exploration
You unlocked all the islands.

Complete the story mission "Three Leaf Clover." If you need assistance, here are two different helpful walkthroughs:
IGN: GTA 4 Three Leaf Clover Mission
Grand Theft Auto IV: Three Leaf Clover - GTA4.TV

You Got The Message
You delivered all 30 cars ordered through text message.

After completing the missions "No. 1" and "Smackdown.," you will receive a text message from Stevie asking you to get a car for him. Once you find and enter the car, you will see a message on the screen that lets you know you have successfully found the car that he was looking for. On your map you will see an icon listed only as "Garage." This is where you will bring the cars back to.

The order of the cars is completely random, but you will always get the same 30 cars. After you deliver a car, Stevie will wait 6 in-game hours before sending you a message for the next car. So if you are looking to do this quickly, going to a safe house and saving your game advances the game ahead 6 hours, so if you drop off a car, then go immediately to a safe house, when you wake up the next text will be waiting for you.

Check out this website for a map of all car locations and screenshots of the cars: Grand Theft Auto IV: Stevie's Text Message Cars - GTA4.TV

Assassin's Greed
You completed all 9 assassin missions.

After completing the mission, "Truck Hustle" you unlock the option to complete assassination missions. You will notice a gray cross hair on your map. This is the location of the pay phone that you will get your mission from. Go to the phone and answer the call, and you will be given instructions on which target you will be taking out. They will happen in a random order, the map and instructions are just numbered for organization here. Once at the location, exterminate the target by any means you feel most comfortable with. All that matters is that they die.

Go here for in-depth mission details:

Under The Radar
You flew under all the main bridges in the game.

Obtain a helicopter by going to the helitours area, or any other means you feel most comfortable with and fly under each of the following bridges:

There are 14 Bridges that are needed for this trohpy. When you pass under a required bridge, a message will pop onto your screen letting you know you successfully went under, and how many you have left. If you go under a bridge and do not see the message, go back under it again, because it didn't count.

See this map for locations (red circles):
http://i25.tinypic.com/ajtk44.jpg

Helicopter Control Tips:
-Ascend using R2 until at a reasonable height above the water and a few hundred metres from the bridge.
-Hold forward on the left stick to start the helicopter moving forward, then release the left stick
-Descend using L2, you will still be travelling forwards
-Once under the bridge, you should have enough forward momentum to take you under, use L2 to descend and R2 to ascend as you move under the bridge to avoid hitting the water or the underside of the bridge.

Low Bridge tips:

This bridge only took me one attempt, but was hard nevertheless. The trick is to hover the helicopter's "feet" in the water as you move very slowly forward. Because this bridge is so low and there is not much of a run-up, you will need to control your speed using the left stick BEFORE attempting to go under.

**Note** You do not need to do all in one flight, but it can be helpful to make sure you don't forget which you've done and which need to be done.

Here is a video of it being done:

**Can be done after completing story mode**

Teamplayer
You killed 5 opposing team members.

In a ranked team game, you need to kill 5 different people from the opposite team in a single match. This should come in the natural progression towards the "Wanted" trophy.

Cut Your Teeth
You were successfully promoted up a rank in multiplayer.

Get enough kills, wins, whatever in ranked matches to earn $1000 online. This will promote you to rank 1.
**See "Wanted"**

Join The Midnight Club
You won a multiplayer race without damaging your vehicle too much.

In the multiplayer ranked races, there is an option in the game to have damage turned on or not. You need to win a race with the damage turned on. Choose a track you are familiar at, set it to one lap, and race.

Fly The Co-op
You completed 'Deal Breaker', 'Hangman's NOOSE', and 'Bomb Da Base II' n time.

**Note** Thanks to 007craft for the videos!!

Deal Breaker - Time To Beat 7:03

Hangman's NOOSE - Time To Beat 2:32

Bomb Da Base II - Time To Beat 5:32

Taking It For The Team
You were on the winning team in all multiplayer team games.

You need to win at least one of each of the following:
Team Mafiya Work
Team Deathmatch
Team Car Jack City
Cops' N Crooks (each side)
Turf War

This trophy will come on the way to Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic as winning all team games is part of the requirements for that trophy. See the chart on the other trophy to keep track of your wins.

Top Of The Food Chain
You successfully killed 20 players with a pistol in a deathmatch.

This trophy is most easily unlocked with the following settings:
Ranked Deathmatch
Prison level
Pistols only
20 minute match
1 second respawn
you can see the other players' dots on the map

With such a confined space, with a bit of skill you should be able to get 20 kills in the needed time limit.

**Boosting Note** This one is a lot easier to boost than the rest. When you get to a ranked lobby, if there is only one person in there, or if you happen to be the host and one person joins, ask them to do the trophy with you. Many people are willing to boost this because of it being so easy to do. If you do find someone interested, you will be able to see each other on the radar, so it will be very easy to find each other in the confined space of the prison. Personally, I found someone to boost this, it took us about 14 minutes 30 seconds for both of us to get the trophy, then we just played around for the last 5 minutes.

Top The Midnight Club
You won 20 different multiplayer standard races.

You need to win 20 different ranked multiplayer races. This trophy will come while going after "Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic," as winning more than 20 different races is required for that trophy. You can use the chart provided with that trophy to keep track of your progress.

Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic
You won in all variations of multiplayer games.

Here is a very helpful chart made by 007craft to keep track of your progress:

IMAGE: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/members/mjc0961-albums-trophy-guide-images-picture1421-gta-iv-awp-checklist.jpg

The best way is to print it off, and use that to keep track of your progress.

***This can be done over multiple sessions!***

Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie
You killed a Rockstar in multiplayer.

Go into any form of multiplayer match, and get lucky enough to kill a Rockstar developer...... or for that matter, kill almost anyone. This is a viral trophy, so anyone who has killed a developer can pass it on. Enjoy the goodness.

One Man Army
You survived a 6 star wanted level for a full 5 minutes.

Here are 2 different methods, both assuming you have not yet unlocked all the islands:

If you have all islands unlocked, those are obviously impossible. Try this method instead:

You have a safe house outside of Middle Park in Algonquin. Stock up on weapons and ammo (be sure to grab armor), then go to it. You can grab a few big cars for cover, but that's unnecessary. Shoot a few random civilians to get a cop to appear, then shoot him for 3 stars. A chopper will appear, and you can RPG that down for possibly 4 or 5 stars. Through any means, get 4 or 5 stars, then head inside. Don't go upstairs, just take cover on the left side (as you enter), at the top of the stairs.

Pick off the cops as they enter the doors to get a 6-star rating. Any method you use to get 6 stars is alright, it's this part that's important. Go to the yellow arrow icon to teleport upstairs. You will now be in your loft, and in the search radius, but completely out of reach to the cops. Just hang out for 5 minutes.

Dare Devil
You completed all the unique stunt jumps.

Stunt jumps start out at a ramp. At each location, you should see a ramp. Go up it at speed (best done with a fast bike). If done properly, you should see the screen cut to a cinematic view, and when you land the screen should say unique stunt jump completed, or something like that.

Feel free to check out this very well done interactive flash guide done by one of our members, Kracker Kwon Do which includes a map, with the corresponding screen shots. It is helpful to look at the mini-map in the screen shots to give yourself a better idea of exactly where the jump is and which direction to look in.

In the course of the game, you can choose certain paths that may kill one or more "friends." If that happens, it's ok, as you only need the friends left alive to like you over 90% for this trophy.

Liberty City Minute
You finished the story in less than 30 hours.

Complete the GTA: IV storyline in under 30 hours. After completing the final mission, you will enter free play mode, where you can complete any side quests or hooker killing that you may have missed.

You can check your progress:
Start--> Stats--> General--> Playing Time

**Note** This trophy does not unlock until after the credits. Once the game is over, the "You Won!" trophy will unlock, then after the credits will come "Liberty City Minute."

Hints:
- If you skip cutscenes, you will save time BUT you'll miss the story. We advise you to enjoy GOTY!!!!!!
- Taxi journeys with the X skip are fantastic as they don't advance the clock. You can get from one side of the city to the other with the click of a button. Only the load times count.
- With autosave on, after every successful mission it saves. Which means if you fail or take too long on a mission, that you can just load the autosave and start at the end of the last mission.
- 94 missions in 30 hours equates to just over 3 missions an hour, therefore 20 mins a mission. Some are obviously shorter and some are obviously longer, but 30 hours is a doable figure.

A Run Through Example Times (without skipping cutscenes or phone calls):

15 Missions Complete - 2 Hours 9 Minutes 18 Seconds
30 Missions Complete - 4 Hours 37 Minutes 45 Seconds
45 Missions Complete - 8 Hours 1 Minute 42 Seconds
60 Missions Complete - 12 Hours 34 Minutes 19 Seconds
75 Missions Complete - 15 Hours 59 Minutes 37 Seconds
94 Missions Complete - 20 Hours 47 Minutes 1 Second

1 Hour Mark - 7 Missions Complete.
5 Hour Mark - 33 Missions Complete
10 Hour Mark - 51 Missions Complete
15 Hour Mark - 71 Missions Complete
20 Hour Mark - 90 Missions Complete

NOTE - This run through was JUST missions, no side missions, no dating (except Michelle 100% because I didn't want her as a non-perfect percentage in my stats!! lol), nothing else. I went from mission to the closest mission on the map using taxi skips mostly.

NOTE #2 - I also spent time messing around with the two helicopter trophies, the 5 minutes 6 stars one, and dating everyone I could and going to the comedy club to see every show I could.

Key To The City
You completed GTA IV to 100%.

Secret Trophies

Driving Mr. Bellic
You unlocked the special ability of Roman's taxi.

Throughout the course of the game, you will have the opportunity to make up to 5 friends. Each friend has certain activities that they favor over others, and through doing social activities with them, they will begin to like you. Once they like you enough, they will offer their unique services to you. To access their special abilities, press up on the d-pad --> X to open the cell phone menu, X to open the phone book, scroll down to your friend's name, press X, scroll to their special ability, and press X again to ask them for it. If they are available to help you, they will tell you, though sometimes they may be busy, as they have their own lives as well.

Now, there is no rhyme or reason to when your friend will offer their services. Once you have reached the necessary "Like" level, sometime in the future, your friend will give you a call to offer their ability to you, so once you have the correct stats, just be patient.

This particular trophy is unlocked through befriending Roman. He is awake 24 hours a day, and when you have reached a 60% "Like" level from Roman, and will go away if you drop below 15%. See "Liberty City (5)" for advice on what activities will help raise his "Like" level the best.

You can check your progress:

No More Strangers
You've met all the random characters.

You need to look for the following people, you only need to encounter them for the trophy:
Badman
Brian
Mel
Ilyena Faustin
Cherise
Jeff
Clarence
Marnie
Pathos
Hossan
Sara
Eddie Low
Ivan
Gracie

As stated, you only need to encounter them. So that means attempting their 1st (or only) mission or seeing them in the context of the storyline.

Several of the characters will provide you with more than one mission. All is explained in detail in the Item & Location sticky. In the description it states if the character will only appear at certain times of the day. If nothing is noted, the character can appear anytime. The characters may also not always be in their locations. If the character you are looking for is not where the map states they should be, that is normal. Simply continue on about your business, and try back later, there is no need to post in the forums asking where the character are, and why they haven't appeared. Have some patience, and go enjoy Liberty City!

Taking A Liberty
Sorry for taking liberties with your time.

This is the platinum trophy. You will need to unlock all of the other Grand Theft Auto IV trophies to unlock this.

DLC: The Lost and Damned
Cost: $19.99 Trophies: 5

TLAD: One Percenter
Help Billy get his bike back. (The Lost and Damned)

This is a plot-based, unmissable trophy. You will unlock this after the very first mission.

TLAD: The Lost Boy
Become the leader of The Lost. (The Lost and Damned)

Another plot-based, unmissable trophy. As the description says, become the leader of your gang. You will unlock this trophy automatically at the end of the 11th mission ("This Shit's Cursed").

TLAD: Easy Rider
Finish the story. (The Lost and Damned)

Yet another plot-based, unmissable trophy. You will get this after the final mission ("Get Lost"). However, this trophy will pop after the credits (you can choose to skip the credits, the trophy will unlock when you return to the game).

TLAD: Get Good Wood
In the bike races, whack off 69 bikers with a bat. (The Lost and Damned)

After Mission No. 4 ("Liberty City Choppers"), you will unlock Bike Races. They will appear on the map as red circle icons with a white engraving of a helmet. During these races, you will be using a bat to knock off other bikers.

As the description says, you have to do this while you're in a race and on your bike. The great thing about this trophy is that:

- a) you can do it in multiple races, the number will add up

- b) you can knock off the same person over and over.

To knock someone off, hold (to charge) and release or to hit your left or right side, respectively. Just find someone, knock him off then wait by his bike until he mounts it then knock him off again. If time runs out, no problem, you can continue in another race. One you have knocked off 69 bikers, the trophy will pop.

Here's a video showing how it's done (credits go to Rooster Teeth):

TLAD: Full Chat
Build Terry and Clay's toughness to 100%. (The Lost and Damned)

Terry and Clay are members of your gang. They will join you 'automatically' during various core missions, and they will be accessibly by phone during the "Liberty City Choppers" mission. However, I suggest you leave this trophy until you finish the DLC, because by the time you finish the final mission, their toughness should automatically be at 60%. Now, there are two ways to increase their toughness to 100%:

1) Quick but somewhat annoying method:

Engage in Gang Wars. There are 25 Gang Wars in the game. They are very easy to do. After each Gang War, Terry's and Clay's toughness will increase by 2-4%. As such, the trophy will pop between Gang Wars No. 11-13. Gang Wars will become accessible after Mission No. 9 ("Coming Down") and will appear on the map as red circle icons with a white engraving of an 'explosion.'

2) Easy but time-consuming method:

You can just call up either Terry or Clay for 'backup.' Call either and both will come to your side. Drive around the city, for every minute or so of driving their toughness will increase by 1%.

(Thanks to Daware from Xbox360achievements.org for this tip).

Just make sure you don't hit anything, don't fall off or abandon your bike and definitely do not die. This will be time-consuming and may take around 40 minutes or so of driving to unlock. To add insult to injury, at certain times Terry and Clay will not be accessible when you call them.

You can track their level of toughness from the main menu. Press , go to "Stats" and under "Player" you should see their names and the level of toughness next to them.

However, if in the course of one of the Gang Wars either Terry or Clay die, do not worry, they will 'respawn.' Just finish the Gang War, kill yourself and then do another Gang War (or call them if they're accessible) and they'll return.

DLC: The Ballad of Gay Tony
Cost: $19.99 Trophies: 10

TBoGT: Gone Down
Complete all base jumps. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

There are 15 different base jumps spread across Liberty City. They can be broken up into three different jump types:

- Target Jumps: hitting a single target a distance from the jump point.
- Chopper Jumps: hitting several checkpoints after leaping from a chopper.
- Vehicle Jumps: targeted landings onto a slowly moving vehicle.

Target Jumps: These are the easiest and most straight forward of the three jump types. It is just a matter of hitting a target in the distance as close to centre as possible. Since speed is not really an issue in these mini-missions, (you only have to complete them, you don’t have to be fast), open your parachute early. Line yourself up so that the target is in the triangle created by the chutes cables. You should be able to tweak your height with small up and down movements on the stick.

If you find you are falling short of the target, have Luis lift his feet. This will help you lose as little height as possible. If you still find you are falling short, try to open your chute earlier in the jump.

Chopper Jumps: This is a slightly trickier jump type. You jump for a chopper, and have to float through several circular targets on the way down.

My big tip: open the parachute almost right away. You will need time to set yourself up for each target, and you cannot rise back up once you drop below the level of a target.

They are often set up at awkward angles, particularly the first one you have to hit. If you open up the Chute early, you can often circle around to give yourself a better run at the checkpoint. You can keep an eye on where the next target is by pressing .

Vehicle Jumps: These are a slightly harder variation on the target jump. Most of them will have you land on a flatbed truck. The same technique will work for these. Open early, and try to keep the target vehicle in the triangle or the chute cords.

A couple of the jumps are started on a bike. It is important that you try to leave the bike as it reaches the top of its arc in the air. This is important for two reasons: You need to height to make the target and you need to cover distance before leaving the bike.

Note: You do not need to have a parachute in your inventory for these events. You are automatically given one when you start the jump.

Also: once a jump has been successfully completed, it will turn grey on the map.

TBoGT: Diamonds Forever
Complete the Trinity. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

This is a story related trophy and cannot be missed if you play the whole story. Once you finish the mission Not So Fast, this one should pop.

TBoGT: Four Play
Hit a flag with a golf ball four times. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

The driving range pier is unlocked after you complete the Practice Swing mission for Gay Tony. You can head there any time afterwards, and play against one of your mates (Armando) or be paired against an AI competitor. The flag will move randomly around the range after each shot.

Firstly, you should use the button to zoom in on the targeting reticule. Make sure the centre spot of the target is placed directly on the bottom of the flag stick. Once that’s done, press to start the swing meter. Let it rise to the top of the bar, and then try to hit just as it passes the line marker on the way back down.

The shots always fly straight, so this distance marker is the only variable. Hit it on or near the money, and you should be pinging flags at least half the time. Hit four, and the trophy is yours.

TBoGT: Bear Fight
Win the L.C. Cage Fighters championship. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

After you complete the mission Mommy’s Boy, where you sort out Santos the loan shark, you will be able to enter the Liberty City Cage Fighters.

If you enter and decide to compete, you can take part in the L.C. Cage Fighters Championship. It is broken up into six rounds. In each round you will face three different fighters one after the other:

Round 1: Boxer – Boxer – Boxer.
Round 2: Boxer – Boxer – Boxer.
Round 3: Boxer – Batter – Knifer.
Round 4: Batter – Boxer – Knifer.
Round 5: Batter – Boxer – Knifer.
Round 6: Knifer – Knifer – Knifer.

Your health will carry over from each round to the next. You will heal a little between each round, but only between a quarter and a third of a bar. This means you really have to try to keep your damage to a minimum.

You have a few basic moves:
= standard punch.
= alternate punch.
= kick.
= block and dodge.

You can also counter attack. If you can time it right, a press of at the same time as your opponent attacks will give you a dodge. Quickly follow that with a press of or will perform a powerful counter punch. And if the opponent is wielding a weapon, you will take the weapon off them. This can be tricky to pull off, so be careful.

Taking on a Boxer: Just lay into these guys. If you keep on top of them, and keep the punches flying, they will go down nice and easy. If you find they are getting a few hits, use a kick to throw them off their stride.

Taking on a Batter: Be careful of these guys. One good hit for them will take almost a third of your life bar. The key to keeping them at bay is a simple combo:

- - - - BACK OFF – Repeat.

The idea is to make them come to you. Once they enter your range, go straight for the kick to the knees. Follow that quickly with a three or four punch combo. Then back the hell off. Right after your combo finishes is the most dangerous time to be close to your opponent. Drop back so they have to come to you, leaving them open to a repeat performance.

Taking on a Knifer: Be REALLY careful of these guys. Once they get a single hit in, they can then take you out in a second or two. Use the same tactic as shown for the Batters above. Make them come to you, go straight for the kick to the knees, punch combo, and back the hell off. Do it right, and they may not even get one hit in.
TBoGT: Catch the Bus
Dance perfectly in both Tony's nightclubs. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

As you should already know, Tony owns two clubs: Hercules and Maisonette 9. Go to Hercules first. Start to dance with the woman on the dance floor. And try to keep the beat as well as you can. The key to this one is not to cock it up too badly. It does not have to be “perfect”, you just have to keep the meter rising.

The movements are on a loop, so it will always go: move the stick to the beat, hold the stick, and follow the beats with and . It will repeat four of five times.

Once you max out the bar, and haven’t made too many mistakes, a small cut-scene will start. A dude will challenge you to a dance off. Just follow the directions on screen. It’s not too difficult.

Once you have seen him off, you will return to dancing with the girl. Again, max out the bar. If you do all this correctly, a mass dance set will start. Keep following the on screen prompts. Once it’s complete you will hear a voice say that the Bus-stop is complete. That’s one down, one to go

Head on down the street to Maisonette 9 and repeat. If memory serves me, you will not get challenged by a dude here. But the rest still applies. Once you finish the Bus-Stop dance, the trophy should pop.

TBoGT: Snow Queen
Complete 25 drug wars. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

The Drug Wars missions are mini-missions that you take part in with Luis’s childhood friends Armando and Henrique. They will be unlocked early in the main story.

These missions boil down to three main types:
- Stash Stealing.
- Deal Breaking.
- Vehicle Hijacking.

Stash Stealing: This generally involves going to a location to take a drug stash. It may or may not be guarded. And it may or may not be in a vehicle already. If it’s guarded, it is usually a bag that needs to be taken. If it’s a vehicle, you have to try and get that vehicle back to the drop off no matter what. You will often have to lose the cops first though.

Deal Breaking: These are fairly straight forward. They are supposed to be a double bonus, as you are going after the stash and the cash. The cash is not really important though. Once you get the bag, you can leave.

Vehicle Hijacks: You have to chase down a car or boat and kill the driver. Once the vehicle comes to a stop, hop in and head to the drop off.

Use the taxi’s to jump to a random Drug War mission quickly. They can each be completed in around ten minutes. After the first mission is completed, there will always be two or three Drug Wars missions scattered across the map.

Note: you do not have to wait for Armando and Henrique. Once you get the stash vehicle, head for the drop off. They will magically appear once you get there. This can be a huge time saver.

TBoGT: Adrenaline-Junkie
Freefall for the longest possible time. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

For this one, you have to jump from the highest accessible point in the game. This basically means getting a chopper and flying it as high as it will go. You can get a chopper at the heliport if you need one, or you could spawn an Annihilator using the following mobile number: 359-555-0100.

If you need a chute, give Armando a ring and you can buy one off him. Alternatively, there will be chutes available at the Buzzard Helipad and in your apartment after you finish the main story and the gang wars.

The idea is to maximize the time you spend in freefall. I’d advise that you do this over a beach. The sand will be as low as land can be, and you will have something to gauge your height by. When trying this over water, it can be hard to tell what your height is.

Make sure the chopper height is maxed out. Then eject and dive to your target landing zone. Pull the chute at the last possible second. It may take a couple of tries to get the timing right.

Alternatively, his trophy can also be earned during a few of the main story missions. The easiest is the mission This Ain't Checkers. If you delay your chute opening until the last second and land on Liberty Island, you should get it.

TBoGT: Maestro
Finish the Ballad. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

You will receive this trophy when you complete the last mission Departure Time for the first time. Completing the story for the first time will not take long. Most will finish all 26 missions in less than ten hours, especially if the secondary side missions are avoided.

TBoGT: Past the Velvet Rope
Score 80% or above in all missions. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

Once the story has been completed for the first time, an option to retry them will appear on your mobile. Each mission has certain targets to hit. As you tick them off, your score will improve.

For strategies for each mission, see Gold Star.

TBoGT: Gold Star
Score 100% in all missions. (The Ballad of Gay Tony)

Each mission in TBoGT is scored to certain criteria: player damage, accuracy, time, etc. You can improve the score by replaying the missions by selecting them off your phone. This option opens up after you complete the main story for the first time.

Thankfully, you do not have to complete each mission requirement in a single run through. They are accumulative over every run you do. This means you can do a mission as fast as possible and not worry about accuracy, or take your time and get those headshots you need. Once the target has been hit, it will be ticked off and you will be one step closer to 100% on that mission. You will probably unlock at least a couple of criteria for each mission when playing through them during the main story. You can then go back and clear up the rest later.

You can see your stats for each mission in the stat menu. Missions that have 0% completed will not show up in the stats though. In the end of mission summary, NR stands for New Record.

Important Note: a mission score will not count if:

- You use any cheat code during the mission.
- You take a taxi cab during the mission.
- You ''replay'' the mission after a failed attempt.

Please see the trophy guide for a walkthrough of all missions.
