Introduction

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage (????, Hokuto Musou) is a 3D Beat-em up, action game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei. It is a spin-off of the Dynasty Warriors series based on the manga franchise Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been destroyed by a nuclear war, the story centers around a warrior named Kenshiro, the successor of a deadly martial art style known as Hokuto Shinken, which gives him the ability to kill most adversaries from within through the use of the human body's secret vital points, often resulting in a violent gory death. Kenshiro dedicates his life to fight against the various ravagers who threaten the lives of the weak and innocent, as well as other rival martial artists, including his own "brothers" from the same clan. You also get to play as his various allies and rivals’ storylines in their Legend Modes.

There is a Japanese voice option for those with the English copy of the game.

Roadmap

Step 1: Complete each character’s Legend mode (5 total)

There are no difficulty related trophies so feel free to play on Easy. In fact this is highly recommended because the game is fairly slow paced for a beat-em-up game so you’ll want to kill enemies faster and make better progress towards the kill trophies. Checkout the Game Basics section if you're new to the Manga/Series and also for general info about the game.

You will first start with Kenshiro’s Legend Mode and as you progress through his story you will unlock the Legend and Dream modes for the other characters. Aim to defeat each opponent with a combo that ends with so you rack up kills for Hokuto Shinken Master trophy, and do the same with the other characters depending on their respective fighting styles for Nanto Seiken Master and Hokuto Ujoken Master. Completing each character’s story will net you majority of the trophies.

Step 2: Complete each character’s Dream mode (8 total).

Dream Modes play exactly like the Dynasty Warriors hack-and-slash series, seeing as this is a TecmoKoei game. Your character will act like an officer of a faction and you go around the map capturing bases and defeating enemy officers to help your army advance. Follow the objectives as appear on your screen and go around completing them. Complete each character’s Dream mode and remember to use combos that end with to work towards the kill trophies.

Upgrades that you purchased for a character in Legend Mode will carry over to Dream Mode.

Step 3: Clean-Up/Grinding

You probably will still need to grind somewhat for the kill trophies especially for Nanto Seiken Master and Hokuto Ujoken Master trophies. Dream Modes are an excellent choice to farm kills.

[PS3T Would Like to Thank yewjhin for this Roadmap]

Ultimage Rage Master
Obtain all of the Trophies within the game. (1)
The Struggle Begins
Complete the first chapter (with any character).

The first and only chapter available to you from the start is from Kenshiro’s Legend Mode. Complete the first chapter after the tutorial to unlock this.

Complete Legend Mode - Kenshiro
Complete Legend Mode as Kenshiro.

This trophy unlocks after the skip-able credits.

Complete Legend Mode - Toki
Complete Legend Mode as Toki.

Complete all 3 chapters of Toki’s Legend mode and this unlocks after the skip-able credits.

Complete Legend Mode - Raoh
Complete Legend Mode as Raoh.

Story related. Unmissable. Trophy unlocks after the credits.

Complete Legend Mode - Rei
Complete Legend Mode as Rei. (1)

Complete all 7 chapters of Rei’s story and this’ll unlock after the skip-able credits.

Complete Legend Mode - Mamiya
Complete Legend Mode as Mamiya. (2)

Story related. Unmissable. Mamiya’s Legend Mode is unlocked by completing Chapter 2 or 3 of Kenshiro’s story. There are 5 chapters in her story. She is a crossbow user and her charge attack will instant kill most enemies. Against big-sized enemies and bosses, charge and shoot, run away to a safe distance when they approach you and repeat. The fight with Raoh though, is more difficult than the rest. This trophy unlocks after the (skip-able) credits.

Be sure to enter the fight with full spirit bars (I had 2 bars). For the 1st phase shoot your crossbow with (non-charged) at him all the time. You’ll take some damage for sure but there’s a health item at the back. Do this until you enter the second phase. When he’s done raging, get close and activate Spirit Aura, melee him like crazy and use your Hyper Signature Move just before the Aura ends. Grab the full spirit refill item in the crate near the entrance and repeat this again so he goes down.

Complete Dream Mode - Kenshiro
Complete Dream Mode as Kenshiro.

Kenshiro’s Dream Mode is unlocked after completing his Legend Mode. Finish all 4 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Toki
Complete Dream Mode as Toki. (2)

I think Toki's Dream Mode unlocks after clearing Chapter 6 or 7 of Kenshiro’s Legend Mode. Finish all 4 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Raoh
Complete Dream Mode as Raoh.

Complete Jagi, Thouzer, Toki and Mamiya's Dream Modes to make Raoh's Dream Mode available.

Complete Dream Mode - Rei
Complete Dream Mode as Rei.

Clear Shin's Dream Mode to unlock Rei's Dream Mode. Finish all 4 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Shin
Complete Dream Mode as Shin. (5)

Defeating Shin in Chapter 2 of Kenshiro's Legend mode will unlock his Dream Mode. Finish all 4 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Thouzer
Complete Dream Mode as Thouzer. (2)

First you need to play and wrap up Rei's Dream mode in order to unlock Thouzer's Dream mode. Finish all 5 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Jagi
Complete Dream Mode as Jagi. (1)

Defeating Jagi in Kenshiro's Legend Mode will unlock his Dream Mode. Finish all 5 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Complete Dream Mode - Mamiya
Complete Dream Mode as Mamiya. (1)

Completing Chapter 4 in Kenshiro's Legend Mode should unlock Mamiya's Dream Mode. Finish all 3 scenarios to unlock the trophy after the credits.

Fists of Tenacity
Play for more than 30 hours total.

This will come with time.

True Warrior of the Apocalypse
Defeat 10,000 enemies.

This trophy should come with time along with the other kill trophies below.  You may try the grinding method suggested below provided by TheProphetUK:

Another quick way to farm kills is on Shin's Deam mode, 2nd level. You need to kill 2 bosses to finish the level - Zeed and some other guy. The first is in the bottom left of the screen. Once he's dead the gate in the bottom right opens. Make your way there but once the gate is in sight STOP and let the hordes of enemies attack you. Remain here killing everyone and they will constantly respawn and run out and attack you. The enemies are weak and are mostly one hit kills. Using your spirit gauge with L2 and spamming it also works. I was racking up 100 kills every 1-2 minutes

Hokuto Shinken Master
Destroy 5,000 enemies with Hokuto Shinken.

Kenshiro and Raoh are the main users of the Hokuto Shinken fighting style, though any other character can use it once they've learnt the Extrinsic Skill "Hokuto Shinken Wisdom" and equipped it. Normally, as any of the 2 characters mentioned above, for a kill to count, you must kill an enemy with a combo that ends with . The enemy will deform and/or explode if done right.

Despite Kenshiro and Raoh being the main practitioners, the easiest way to farm this is to actually use Jagi's charge attack which inflicts Hokuto Shinken status. Playing Chapter 1 of his Dream mode over and over will net you the kills very easily.

For any character (including Kenshiro & Raoh) that equips the Hokuto Shinken Wisdom skill, any attack they use to defeat an enemy will count towards this trophy, including regular attacks. For now, Dream Modes are the best place to farm this.

Nanto Seiken Master
Obliterate 5,000 enemies with Nanto Seiken.

Rei, Shin, and Thouzer are the main users of the Nanto Seiken fighting style, though any other character can use it once they've learnt the Extrinsic Skill "Nanto Seiken Wisdom" and equipped it. Normally, as any of the 3 characters mentioned above, for a kill to count, you must kill an enemy with a combo that ends with . The enemy will die with a slashing effect if done right.

Using Rei, the best way is to spam after a successful Timely Strike. GenocideHeart adds that Thouzer is also a good character to use for this. For any character (including the 3) that equips the Nanto Seiken Wisdom skill, any attack they use to defeat an enemy will count towards this trophy, including regular attacks. For now, Dream Modes are the best place to farm this.

Hokuto Ujoken Master
Put 5,000 enemies out of their misery with Hokuto Ujoken.

Toki is the main user of the Hokuto Ujoken fighting style, though any character can use it once they've learnt the Extrinsic Skill "Hokuto Ujoken Wisdom" and equipped it. For a kill to count, you must kill an enemy with a combo that ends with . The enemy will glow and/or float, then explode if done right.

Using Toki, the best way is to spam () and press when the animation is about the end to cancel the move and skip the part where he coughs, so you can repeat the attack again. Another good combo to use when you're surrounded by a huge crowd is (). Good places to farm this are in Chapters 2 and 3 of Toki's Dream Mode, where he is "cured" and no longer coughs. Completing his Dream mode also unlocks his "cured" version for all other missions.

For any character that equips the Hokuto Ujoken Wisdom skill, any attack they use to defeat an enemy will count towards this trophy, including regular attacks. For now, Dream Modes are the best place to farm this.

Signature Move Master
Crush 1,000 enemies using Signature Moves.

As explained in the Game Basics section (see Roadmap), SMs are activated by pressing when you have at least one Spirit Reserve bar available. The best SM by far is Jagi's Iron Blast that has a 2/4 damage rating, has a 180 degree range and costs 1 Spirit Reserve.

An alternative is Kenshiro's Heavenly Destruction, 3/4 damage rating with 360 degree range but costs a whopping 3 Spirit Reserves. In Dream Modes you can run up to enemy bases, get in the midst of the group of enemies that spawn then unleash your fury on them.

Punish Zeed
Defeat Zeed with a Finisher move in Ch. 1 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Zeed is the boss at the end of Chapter 1, defeat him to unlock this. He’s pretty easy to beat with just normal attacks.

Wallop Shin
Defeat Shin with a Finisher move in Ch. 2 of Kenshrio's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

His lifebar starts with 3 segments. The first segment can be depleted by normal attacks. Thereafter, he starts will power up and charge at you. When you see him preparing to charge, run behind a pillar so that he will get stuck in the pillar instead, and there’s your opportunity to counterattack. For the last segment you will have to activate your Spirit Aura () in order to counter his Spirit Aura or you won’t be able to damage him. Proceed to pound on him with normal attacks until he kneels down, then finish him off with a finisher.

Break Boss Fang
Defeat Boss Fang with a Finisher move in Ch. 3 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Like most big-sized opponents, the armor icon displayed when you attack Fang indicates that they are resistant to single attacks. You will need to break their armor gauge by consistently attacking him with alot of hits. When his armor breaks he will be in a Meridian Shock stage, so use your signature moves on him. Halfway he will summon his goons which are just fodder for you to refill your spirit gauge and get more Sig.moves stocked up. When he appears just repeat more of the same and he’ll go down.

Smash Jagi
Defeat Jagi with a Finisher move in Ch. 4 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Like Shin, the fight with Jagi has 3 parts. The first part can be easily done with normal attacks. The second part gets annoying as he first destroy some oil tanks and flood the middle part of the arena with oil. He will jump out of reach, summon cages to trap you, and throw explosives that travel some distance. You can destroy the cages, and the fire won’t do much harm. When he reappears in the middle of the arena, I suggest quickly to break his defense and quickly followed up by a Signature Move. In the third phase, he will start to use Spirit Aura, and you need to counter it with your own to damage him. Pummel away and use the finisher when he drops.

Crush Amiba
Defeat Amiba with a Finisher move in Ch. 5 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

This guy is moves fast but is pretty easy. He counters your attacks once in awhile but he doesn’t hit hard at all. If he locks onto you with a combo just use your Signature Move to counter it. Just keep at it with normal combos. He uses Spirit Aura in the third phase so remember to use yours.

Trounce Uighur
Defeat Uighur with a Finisher move in Ch. 6 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

By now you should know how to deal with big sized enemies. Uighur is slow and none of his attacks are any different from previous enemies of the same type. Pound away until the his health drops to 50%, where he will summon some goons. Despatch them and continue with more combos and he’ll go down easily.

Overcome Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in Ch. 7 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

This is your first real test. This guy is annoying, hits hard and is tough like an elephant. The fight start with him atop his horse and he will attempt to run you down. I’m not sure if this is a time limited fight and you just need to run down the clock, but what I do is roll out of the way and use to do some damage.

After a cutscene he’s now on the ground and he’s seriously gay. The best way to fight him is to use the jump kick + which will knock him back. Use it a couple of times and his defense will break as well and the good thing about this attack is you’ll probably land behind him, which allows you to put in a good x3 combo. Keep repeating this and use the Seven Stars of Death signature move when you have the opportunity.

Humiliate Juda
Defeat Juda with a finisher move in Ch. 8 of Kenshrio's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

This guys has some killer moves, but rarely uses it. I was able to keep him in a semi-permanent juggle by using and and defeat him easily.

Conquer Shew
Defeat Shew with a Finisher move in Ch. 9 of Kenshrio's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Not particularly difficult at this point if you have decent upgrades, he’s just more of the same.

Trash Thouzer
Defeat Thouzer with a Finisher move in Ch. 10 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

He’s slightly tougher than previous bosses but still fights the same. If you use the signature move “Awakening of the Senses” you can inflict Meridian/Spirit Shock which makes him take more damage.

Eliminate Thouzer
Defeat Thouzer with a Finisher move in Ch. 11 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

By now you really should be familiar with all the boss fights and what to do because it’s the almost the same with each one of them. The arena is small so take advantage of this with moves that send him flying into the wall. In the 2nd phase he summons 3 weak clones of himself which you need to defeat and in the 3rd phase he uses Spirit Aura which you need counter with your own.

Clobber Ryuga
Defeat Ryuga with a Finisher move in Ch. 12 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

The first phase is more of the usual hit-him-till-he-gets-mad routine. The second phase is extremely annoying. The white panels on the floor are pressure traps that shoot spikes if you’re standing on them. Ryuga will also summon a bunch of minions for you to deal and once you’ve dealt with them he reappears with his Spirit Aura thing. Do as you must.

Beat Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in Ch. 13 of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

This is an insanely easy fight if all you do is spam in all three phases. In the last phase activate Spirit Aura and use your Hyper Signature Move to quickly end this easy fight.

Whomp Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in the Final Chapter of Kenshiro's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Like the last fight, all you have to do is spam . If you find yourself too far from him, use + to jump kick and quickly close the distance.

Subdue Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in Ch. 1 of Toki's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Despite Toki’s constant coughing interrupting the flow of the battle, this fight isn’t hard at all. I personally use all the time and in the 2nd phase I activate Spirit Aura to damage him and pull off a Hyper Signature Move that actually does some real damage compared to the normal one.

Vanquish Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in the Final Chapter of Toki's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. This is in the 3rd and final chapter.

This time Raoh is stronger in every aspect. I stuck with the same combo strategy as before and making full use of my Spirit Aura and Meridian Shock effect from Toki’s Hyper Signature Move.

Annihilate Rei
Defeat Rei with a Finisher move in Ch. 1 of Raoh's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Raoh’s Legend Mode is unlocked after completing Kenshiro, Toki, Mamiya and Rei’s legend modes.

Overpower Kenshiro
Defeat Kenshiro with a Finisher move in Ch. 2 of Raoh's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Dominate Toki
Defeat Toki with a Finisher move in Ch. 4 of Raoh's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Defeat Kenshiro
Defeat Kenshiro with a Finisher move in Ch. 5 of Raoh's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Destroy Kenshiro
Defeat Kenshiro with a Finisher move in the Final Chapter of Raoh's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable.

Pulverize Mamiya
Defeat Mamiya with a Finisher move in Ch. 1 of Rei's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Rei is an incredibly easy and overpowered character to use. He’s quick and his Nanten Seiken fighting style will prompt you to use Timely Strikes by pressing in the middle of your combos or when an enemy is about to attack you . If the Timely Strike successfully lands on an enemy, Rei enters a powered up state (and counterattacks if prompted before an enemy attack) where he literally slashes everything into pieces, and can even counter bosses with Spirit Aura, tearing all of them apart with ease.

Squash Boss Fang
Defeat Boss Fang with a Finisher move in Ch. 2 of Rei's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Make full use of Timely Strikes to end it quickly.

Pummel Amiba
Defeat Amiba with a Finisher move in Ch. 3 of Rei's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Make full use of Timely Strikes to end it quickly.

Stomp Uighur
Defeat Uighur with a Finisher move in Ch. 4 of Rei's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Make full use of Timely Strikes to end it quickly.

Fustigate Raoh
Defeat Raoh with a Finisher move in Ch. 5 of Rei's Legend Mode.

Story related. Unmissable. Pay very close attention to the numerous prompts for Timely Strikes especially in the 2nd phase to counterattack Raoh because you don’t want to be on the receiving end of his mega beam signature moves.

Disgrace Juda
Defeat Juda with a Finisher move in the Final Chapter of Rei's Legend Mode. (1)

Story related. It’s a very short chapter and Juda is a pushover as usual. I used Spirit Aura to end the fight faster.
