A advice you sure hell don't want to experience yourself:

In Cassardis where you enter the stone to the Ur-Dragon, don't do it online unless you are 100% sure about defeating him. If you leave while he's alive, then his health will drop by time. If you've wait a week or two(real time) and visits him again, a message will appear saying you have defeated him and your price is waiting. Perhaps a glitch, but you don't get the trophy or XP, and you price is only two Wakestones and a Ferrystone. I hardly ever harmed him.

Still, you can take advantage of it, a gamble. Be careful enough not to wait too long before you do a second visit, perhaps only three days and his health will be on 60%... I don't remeber if I waited one or two weeks...

your all wrong, its an online event pay attention to what it tells you, every1 playing is fighting him so when you fight him the damage you dealt will be taken off his overall health then if somebody kills it then you contributed to its death, and depending on how much damage you inflicted depend on the loot you get, his health only goes up if you die fighting him but you may get lucky and meet him with no health and inflict the killing blow, which nets you the trophy, so if u only want the trophy kill him offline but you won't get the best equipment, hope this explains better

As other people have said - offline is easiest, but you must have ranged abilities. I was level 85 fighter, with a mage and 2 rangers as pawns. He had 4 health bars and basically I whittled him down over 4 sessions to 1/2 of one bar, but couldn't get at the hearts on the wings. My pawns didn't do anything to those hearts either. So I changed vocation to magic archer and went and bought all the best gear, enhanced and came back and with 5 mins - nice shiny gold trophy! Oh, and I never rested between the sessions, I just went in to the rift and back out again, this restored my pawns back to full health.

He was not really that hard if you solo him offline. I just had trouble at the very last half of his health because I did not know I could target the wings
