Jackpot! Trophy in DmC: Devil May Cry

  • Jackpot!

Complete all missions on the Nephilim difficulty with a SSS rank

    How to unlock Jackpot!

Note: The SSS ranks have to be on Nephilim difficulty, if you have gotten an SSS rank on another difficulty it will not count towards this trophy. You will get point deductions each time you die or restart a checkpoint or when using items or special abilities such as Super Dante. If you have Super Dante unlocked then you need to deactivate it in the overview screen before starting a mission.

Your final score is judged on 3 things:

    • Score: Your score is judged by how you killed enemies and what multiplier you had when you attacked / killed the enemy. If you don't get hit, your multiplier will keep going up and up depending on what moves you are using. Don't use the same move more than twice in a row. Eventually it will go up to SSS-Sensational!, which means you'll be getting the highest multiplier towards your score.
    • Time: This is how quickly you completed the mission. You want to try and finish as quickly as you can to get the best time. As you will be going for this trophy last, you should know most missions like the back of your hand so you won't have any trouble with this.
    • Completion: This is how many of the keys, lost souls and doors you have found in the level. As you will have already collected all the collectibles in a prior playthrough, you'll always get 100% here and a SSS rank in that stat. Collectibles do not respawn and do not need to be collected again - you will get SSS each time in this category.

  • If you have everything unlocked before you play this difficulty all you have to worry about is just your style and time
  • It helps a lot to farm Red Orbs in mission 20 on "heaven or hell" if you got 79 skill points already (since you'll get Red Orbs instead of EXP then). Buy 10 big Devil Stars then and use them often to get a high Styling rate: Since every single Style point is worth 64 points (1 x 8 x 8) if you got a good end time and a 100% completion rate, you might even use more than 10 Devil Stars since the deduction of 100'000 points is peanuts then. However, don't use Devil Stars all the time - start with regular combos, then use Devil Stars, then normal combos again. Otherwise your Styling will stagnate. A good balanced use of the Devil Stars is a big help for an SSS in every mission.
  • @2 "a" if pronounced "triple s", "an" if pronounced "sss"
  • @5 "an" if pronounced "a,e,o,i and u","a" if pronounced "b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,s,t,v,w,x,y and z".
  • @6 DING-DING-DING! We have a winner!
  • @6 Are you retarded? S is pronounced "ess". Ess.
  • @8 will. tell **that** to the english inventor!!!
  • @8 be beside "S" can NOT read "ess" you are retarded, not me.
  • @10 Are you serious right now, or are you trolling? It's pronounced ess ess ess-rank. Would you write "a" behind "hour"?
  • @11 man..... you should find good enlish teacher!!! i'm not trolling but anyone will agree me easily. & yes i will write "a" behind "hour" because it's true "i see you after one a hour" IF you write like "i see you after one an hour" IT'S like you write "i see you after one in hour". if you still stubborn, tell your PSN friends about this comment try find someone good in english.
  • @12 Seriously... in which country were you born? "i see you after one a hour" is not a valid sentence. It IS "AN" HOUR, NOT "A" HOUR.
  • @12 It doesn't matter how it's spelled. It's how it's pronounced. That's the whole point! It's pronounced "AN OUR"!!
  • @14 - THAT IS IT!!! I had enough in this stupid english lessen! you can call it whatever you want.....
  • Damn i already have SSS on all nephilim missions except mission 17. And i really tried hard. Could someone give a tip to help ? It seems that mastering demon evade is the key...
  • I came here for some tips too. I'm working on this trophy. Wish someone would list how many style points you need at the end of each mission. And i wonder if there was a patch to make SSS harder to acheive. I heard there was, can i erase it?
  • People Thinks Triple Rank SSS is easy, which it is, you need bring more style, the timing the execution and new moves, when a enemy starts to attack you, just dodge at the right time and you receive extra points and combo to your style. Got my Platinum trophy before DLC Vergil's downfall.
  • Just want to say that OmniOmegaKillr is an idiot. It doesn't matter how it's spelled, it's how it's pronounced. It IS supposed to be *an hour instead of *a hour. When you talk to people in conversation. They will always say that. Similarly, with unicycle, it's *a unicycle not *an unicycle. That doesn't even sound right. -_-
  • The secret is to switch weapons frequently and use a lot the scythe when switching to demon weapon...
  • If there are a lot of small guys, use Buy In followed by Tornado to quickly boost your style and get a good multiplier early on. From there, don't get hit and vary your weapon usage, and you should rack up lots of points in no time. Don't have the trophy yet, but 15 missions in and I haven't had any trouble yet.
  • I'm having troubles in mission 20, I can not gather many style points in vergil, he's very fast and evades all attacks, is very difficulty to mantain a time attacking it, the max points of style that i can win is 34560. I think we get to 40000 style points I can probably get SSS in that fucking mission. If anyone knows any tactic to be able to get a good style points in vergil please help me :(...
  • This is a conversation about dmc not English grammar. Just stop with how it is spelled. And if you wanna know it is "an hour". Anyway I am stuck in this trophy only mission 17 left. Any tips?
  • #22 the final mission is easy. Here are the tricks to do so. When vergil tries to attack you evade him and quickly use the red whip (R2+square) and attack as many times as you can and when he blocks use your angel weapon I think its called osiris with the circle button to break his block and continue to attack. Also he uses an attack from the air. When you see him in mid air you have to be quick and use the whip again. If he transforms in devil trigger form the only way to beat him is with your own devil trigger. You can use the aquilla with the circle button and your devil trigger fills fast. Then finish him off. Hope this one helped. And please I need help on mission 17
  • Okay!!!! Got this f.....g trophy! 15th platinum
  • this trophy and hell and hell for both dante and vergil are what will stop me from getting 100% in this game -_-
  • With a fully upgraded Dante and knowing how to use weapons switching well its really easy. Got SSS on all mission on the first attempt except for a few of the boss'.
  • The only reason it is written with an "an" is because it sounds weird when said aloud with an "a". The CORRECT way to say/write is with an "a" just following grammar rules. This does not mean you will ever find anyone saying/writing "a hour" just because of the awkward sound "a hour" makes. So yes, it's supposed to be "a", but no one gives a crap because it is widely accepted to put "an" just because it sounds better. If you don't like this answer, go ask an English professor. As for the trophy...is this technically the one that takes the longest to get (other than the platinum)?
  • Does anyone know if you can get more points with or without devil trigger? Im stuck on level 17 always end up between 10 and 15 thousand short of an SSS rank for Style points.
  • I'm going for this trophy soon enough, though this is my first DMC game, i'm pretty good at it so I hope it's not too hard
  • Yes, @29 using the devil trigger does give you bonus points, even more for air combos. What I have been doing that's working really well is saving my devil trigger until the last couple battles of the level and just going nuts on the enemies in the air to get a really nice boost of points close to the end. Either that or use it on anything that gives you trouble and hits you often like butchers or dream runners. I will say that I beat every other mode before trying the SSS on every mission trophy and after dealing with butchers on DMD they are a breeze at this difficulty.
  • Tips for level 17: you need 255K style points. At the begining go to right, you'll encounter 2 skeletons and have to score from 12k to 15k (restart if not good). Then proceed to the next fight. Your goal is to reach 140K. The trick is to quit to main menu just before killing the last dude if you haven't reach 140k and restart from checkpoint until good. For the next 2 fights you've to dodge a lot and use kabooey to reach 170k at least. The last fight must be a full perfect. Again quit and restart from checkpoint before last guy if you didn't reach 255k
  • This trophy is so easy! This is my first DmC and Hack/Slash game since PS2 and still didn't have any trouble getting SSS. If you can beat Son of Sparda without using items, this one is a piece of cake- I had to retry last mission a second time cause I missed 5k points. So if I can do it anyone can.
  • KEEP IN MIND: pausing it and selecting "Restart from checkpoint" WILL count as a death, but if you want to restart from a checkpoint anyway, you can get around the death penalty by quitting to the main menu and continuing. You might lose your combo meter, I'm not sure, but a lot of times it's worth it.
  • Fuck this trophy. There are like 3 missions that are a pain to get SSS without retrying a ton of times. Otherwise it's easy as hell, just stupid tedious at times.
  • Don't listen to anybody that says that this trophy is easy even after post-patch. Just DELETE the patch! you don't have any idea how useful it was to kkep my SSS combos going and getting the high score. Seriously, I can't believe people bitch about Batman Arkham City being "soooo haaaard" and then say that this trophy is a cakewalk.
  • Guys it is spelled "a triple s" or "an sss" #5 is right.
  • Hi. Is there somewhere a list of combos SSS on nephilim. I have unlocked everything all weapons, devil trigger max & HP. The boggest problem for this trophy is SSSensational combo. Anybody could make short list of their favourite combos. This would help
  • To have the "Completion" bit pre-completed, do you have to have completed it on Nephilim the first time or can you change the difficulty and keep the same 100% completion?
  • I came here to see tips from other users and found myself in an English class...leave that stuff out of here please.
