Mostly Flesh and Steel Trophy in Dishonored

  • Mostly Flesh and Steel

You finished the game without purchasing any supernatural powers or enhancements, besides Blink

How to unlock Mostly Flesh and Steel

    Missable

You must start and finish the game without ever purchasing a supernatural upgrade using Runes. To be sure of this, don’t even access the ‘Powers’ tab of the menu. You will be given Blink as part of the story, but do not upgrade this to level 2 as it negates this trophy. You can, however, equip Bone charms to give yourself a slight bonus. You can also purchase any equipment upgrade from Piero, and in fact that is recommended seeing as you will not be using ANY supernatural ability other than Blink 1.

Once you complete the game with no supernatural abilities unlocked, the trophy will unlock.

  • Once again, another fun-depriving trophy. I'm not a Platinum whore, but I do like the satisfaction of getting one every once in a while.
  • How is it fun-depriving? It's more of a challenge, for some people that's a good thing.
  • Draco, stopped bitching about multiple trophies for this game. Get a life.
  • @1 I wonder though, if it will be fun-depriving. I'm guessing it will require more stealth and frontal assault. Plus, you still have Blink, which can make for some sweet escapes. Regardless, it is apparent from the trophy list that Arkane Studios requires multiple playthroughs for the platinum. @3 Not helpful.
  • @1 If you think mulitple playthroughs are fun-depriving, perhaps you shouldn't be concerned about the trophies in a game like this - the very type of game made for multiple playthroughs. Your first time, play it how you want. The second time, see all the places and kill the people you never did before. Either you're up for a 2-4 playthrough plat like this or you're not. @4 Not helpful.
  • This is the kind of trophy we need more of. A trophy thats not just "Congrats you started the game" or "yay you watched the credits". This is the kind of trophy that challenges you and makes you change the way you play. Kudos Dishonored
  • IMPORTANT: To get this trophy, you can only have Blink level 1. If you upgrade Blink, you void your chance at getting the trophy. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1415445-notes-on-stealth-detection-chaos-and-trophiesachievements/
  • I upgraded blink and completed the game T_T didn't get the trophy , it's really annoying , watch out guys , don't even open the upgrade stuff ...
  • You can still equip bone charms right? And what about the mystical whale artifact I think it's one of the ore order bonuses. I got it early in the game, and it shows up in the Upgrades part of the inventory...
  • So does this mean no upgrades at-all, or just the actual magic powers you cast from your hand? ie: can you upgrade the passive powers like health and faster running, or all off limits? ...as I write that, I think I know the answer, but confirmation? And I think it's an awesome trophy, the harder the better! #1 draco: platinum dark souls and then let's talk about fun depriving! ;)
  • no upgrades or powers. what about piero upgrades guess those cant be used either?
  • According to Bethesda's answer ... Do Not upgrade blink to level 2. You can equip charms. Still don't know whether you can purchase weapon and armour upgrades, can anyone verify this ?
  • @12 The trophy says you can't purchase "supernatural powers or enhancements." It says nothing of Upgrades. You can purchase weapon and armor upgrades and still get this trophy. Verified. The best way to think about it is you're forced to get Blink level 1 to get farther in the game, they give you that ONE. No other Runes can be used AT ALL. Money can be spent, but Runes cannot be used beyond Blink level 1. Bone charms are not Runes, so they're up for grabs.
  • Thank you @12 & @13! Exactly what I wanted to know!
  • Has anybody gotten it with upgrades?
  • yup, got it today with almost every upgrade from Piero. btw - am i the only one thinking that this game is over-hyped? its a good game but calling it GotY is... wrong :)
  • @16 I feel the same way. The wheeling of the blade gives it a Dead Island feel. Which by the way was a good GOTY, but not my preference.
  • Wonder if playing the last mission without upgrades counts... You're technically completing the game.
  • Yea, I upgraded BLINK too, and that disables this trophy. Too bad, the description says so then. It should just say that you can't upgade anything, instead of mentioning blink as allowed. Great game though, going through with no kills and no spots is just awesome :D
  • The outsider will mark you with his sign and teach you "Blink." So Blink will not be purchased as the description mentions. I guess the same counts for "The Heart" which The Outsider gives you as well.
  • Summarising everything here: DO NOT SPEND ANY Runes. Charms and mechanical upgrades are fine but never spend a Rune on anything, either passive abilities or Blink 2.
  • Of course it's fun-depriving. It limits you. I bet not one of you are able to tell me when limits are ever fun. If you enjoy the satisfaction of overcoming a challenge, then by all means do it.
  • This wasn't as bad as it seems. I did it on a high chaos playthrough, and didn't even use any bone charms either. Looking forward to a low chaos playthrough where I can use all the powers I want and not be penalized for it.
  • it was a royal pain in the ass! But somehow I got it on low chaos and didn't take long to beat the game...it was worth it though ll in all.
  • Guy I just wanna be sure: can I use Brink level 1 and still get the trophy? I never purchased anything with my runes and I never used Brink. But when you have to climb up to the Dunwall Tower at the beginning of mission 6 it seems to me that it is impossible to reach some ledges without Brink.
  • hey guys I upgraded by mistake then quickly went to load a previously saved game ,, will the trophy vanish ??? any ideas>
  • i hope not because i did the same thing
  • What about blueprints?
