![]() | Mission Impossible
| Complete the game on Zealot setting | ||||||
Complete the game on Zealot setting. In this setting enemies are at their toughest and ammo is very very limited compared to lower difficulties. I highly recommend upgrading your RIG Health as soon as possible, then worked on the Plasma Cutter and Contact Beam as these two weapons are absolutely crucial for the last few chapters.

Across the game you will see many Green squarish containers on the floor with small lit up lights at the corners. Press

| Decompress 20 Necromorphs without getting sucked out yourself | ||||||
Missable! You are going to need a minimum of 2 playthroughs (and NG+ to carryover stats) as there are very limited opportunities for this. On Chapters 3, 4 and 7 you will find large rectangular windows with inscriptions "Future Expansion" on them and yellow-black hazard bar on top (see Skewered in Space video for impression). Be very careful around them. When there are enemies around, shoot this window to break the glass and suck enemies into space. You will have to shoot the red triangle above the window to prevent yourself from following suit, or you'll die and the kills won't count. In Chapter 7, as you're exploring the Solar Array station, you'll enter a room with a crawling Slasher. Kill him from the entrance, then move the two explosive canisters next away from window. Pick up the corpse of the necromorph you just killed and walk to the middle of the room. 2 detonator traps will activate. Use the body to trigger them, then run to the back corner next to ANTI's hologram (you'll be next to a door). Make sure you're as far back as possible, so you're pressing against the most opposite wall from the window. There will be a Leaper running around and a bunch of Crawlers. Wait until the Leaper is close, then shoot the window. You'll actually be far enough that you won't be sucked out, so you can stand there and wait for the door to close on it's own. I've gotten as many as 7 necromorphs from this one window.
You can track your progress by pressing
![]() | ...And Stay Down | |||||
| Kill 25 crawling enemies with Stomp (single player only) | ||||||
Some enemies such as the Spitter and Stalker may appear to be crawling with their hands in certain spots of the game. For other enemies, you will need to shoot off their legs first to get them into crawling position. Scorpions at full health do not count, unless you have dismembered one of their hands and they're crawling. Press

![]() | The Nanny | |||||
| Kill 30 Crawlers without detonating them | ||||||
Crawlers are infants with an exploding sac on their back, which you will encounter first in the Elementary School in Chapter 6, 9 and 13. It is possible to obtain this in one playthrough, but you will need to attempt this everytime you come across Crawlers. You need to aim to sever their heads or legs off, and the Plasma Cutter's ALT attack (in horizontal position) is ideal for this, as well as the Force Gun and Flamethrower.

| Dismember 2,500 Necromorph Limbs (single player only) | ||||||
The theme of this game is to dismember Necromorph's Limbs in order to score a kill. Most of the time you're going to have to target the arms for a confirmed kill. You can also stomp (

| Purchase the Advanced Suit | ||||||
You will find the Schematic for the Advanced Suit in Chapter 11. Purchase it for 40,000 credits (36,000 if you have Vintage Suit equipped) to unlock this. See The Engineer trophy for location of the schematic. If you missed the schematic, it will be automatically added to the store during Chapter 13 just like the rest of other schematics that you may have missed.
![]() | Fully Outfitted | |||||
| Upgrade your RIG and Stasis completely | ||||||
The RIG and Stasis requires 18 and 12 Power Nodes respectively to fully upgrade them. You'll most likely achieve them very late in the game. On my Zealot playthrough, I focused only HP upgrades from the start for the RIG and did not upgrade the Statis Module at all until the later chapters.
![]() | Picking favorites
| Upgrade 1 Weapon completely | ||||||
See Fully Loaded. | ||||||
![]() | Fully Loaded | |||||
| Simultaneously have four completely upgraded weapons | ||||||
To unlock the trophy, you simply need to have upgraded all stats of 4 weapons. You DON'T need to fill in every slot, just make sure that the slots that have effects are filled. I highly recommend you upgrade the Plasma Cutter and Contact Beam first, as they are absolutely crucial for Zealot and Hardcore difficulties.
![]() | The Sampler Platter
| Kill a Necromorph with every Weapon in the game (single player only). | ||||||
You need to get a kill with each of the following weapons. Normally you will need to find the schematics for these weapons and bring them to a Store to be able to purchase them. If you missed a schematic however, fret not, the weapon will be added automatically to the store in Chapter 13, but try not to let this happen as some weapons are just too valuable to miss.
![]() | Lightspeed de Milo
| Dismember the Lightspeed Boy Statue | ||||||
Missable. In Chapter 3, this rotating statue is infront of the Bold Stylings shop, the area where Daina labels Patient 5 a “Psychopath” and there’s music playing in the background. Shoot its limbs to dismember it, just like Venus de Milo. You revisit the place in Chapter 6, so you get another chance if you missed it earlier. Video by PowerPyx.
![]() | Collect Peng | |||||
| Find the Peng treasure | ||||||
Missable. In the Main Frame room of Chapter 7, you’ll have to connect fuses in two circuit rooms with Kinesis. In the left circuit room (the one with the Slasher, not the parasites), as soon as you climb out there’s a holo-panel on your right with blue block symbol. Fit the circuits according to this holo-panel so they turn blue. This reveals a switch to rotate the cylinder to the secret room with Peng, power nodes, and a large medkit. The trophy unlocks immediately upon collecting the treasure and thereafter it can be sold for alot of credits. Video by Powerpyx.
![]() | The Librarian | |||||
| Collect 100 logs | ||||||
Logs are acquired automatically throughout many dialogue transmissions between you and other plot characters, as well as picking up Audio and Text Logs that add more to the backstory of the game. I achieved this in Chapter 11 after passing through space. See the Collectible Guide for help.
![]() | The Electrician | |||||
| Collect 10 Semiconductors | ||||||
Semiconductors are usually found after defeating tough foes such Tripods, Brutes, Bosses, and in Power Node-locked rooms. There are a whole lot more than 10 in the game and its very hard to miss this trophy. They can be sold for valuable credits.
![]() | The Engineer | |||||
| Collect 10 Schematics | ||||||
Collect 10 Schematics that are littered throughout the game and bring them to the Store. The trophy will unlock after you bring the last one to the Store. Schematics allow you to purchase new types of weapons, armor, med kits and ammunition. See the following video by Powerpyx, or the Collectible Guide for help with this trophy.
![]() | My Boom Stick | |||||
| Kill 6 enemies at once with Line Gun's Alt-Fire (single player only) | ||||||
This is easily done whenever you’re faced with The Pack (necromoprhs that look like kids) as they come in huge numbers, wait for 6 of them to come very closely and Stasis them, then fire the Line Gun’s Alt-Fire which is a bomb that will detonate in 3-4 seconds, killing anything nearby and hope you take 6 of them out. You can do this in Chapter 3 and Chapter 5 when you come across The Pack.
![]() | Shock Therapy | |||||
| Impale an enemy with the Javelin Gun and use its Alt-Fire to shock 3 others (single player only) | ||||||
Just like My Boom Stick trophy above, but first use the Javelin Gun’s Primary Gun and fire at an enemy in a group, then Alt-Fire to activate an electricity field from that Javelin to shock nearby enemies.
![]() | Lawnmower Man | |||||
| Kill 4 enemies with the same Ripper blade | ||||||
I recommend using the Ripper's primary attack
![]() | It's a Trap! | |||||
| Kill 20 enemies with Detonator Mines in a deployed state | ||||||
Once you have acquired the Detonator Mine schematic and bought the weapon, press
![]() | Necro Flambé | |||||
| Kill 50 enemies using the Flamethrower | ||||||
Once you have acquired the Flamethrower schematic in Chapter 6 and bought the weapon, use this to burn 50 enemies. You should target weaker enemies like The Pack as the flamethrower tends to eat alot of ammo very quickly.
![]() | Peek a Boo! | |||||
| Kill a Stalker with the Seeker Rifle while in Zoom Mode | ||||||
You will first encounter Stalkers in Chapter 4, but only obtain the Seeker Rifle in Chapter 6 and your earliest chance to use it against the Stalkers is in Chapter 9. They look like giant Ostriches and will run from cover to cover but peak with their heads out, then charge at you directly with their heads. You best chance to obtain this is in Chapter 9 in a large storage area and there are Stasis cylinders lying around in the ground. What you should do is Kinesis-grab one of the cylinders, wait for the Stalker to charge you and you fire the cylinder at it slowing it down. Quickly whip out the Seeker Rifle, hold
![]() | C-Section | |||||
| Knock down an enemy with Contact Beam Alt-Fire then kill it with Primary Fire before it stands up | ||||||
Pressing | ||||||
![]() | Going for Distance
| Impale an enemy and make him fly through the air for 17 meters - it must stick to the surface | ||||||
To impale an enemy, you need to either use Kinesis (
![]() | Taste of your own Medicine
| TK Impale a live Slasher to a surface using a Slasher's arm - it must stick to the surface | ||||||
Anytime you see a necromorph will those 2 extra arm-blades, shoot one of the limbs off, grab that broken arm with Kinesis and fire it back at them with them between you and the opposite wall and you should be able to impale them very easily. They have to stick to the wall surface.
![]() | Skewered in Space
| Impale an enemy into a Decompression Window to cause it to blow out | ||||||
This is basically the same as Vacuum Cleaner trophy above, only you're supposed to impale the enemy on a Decompression Window and he gets sucked into space immediately. One of the best places to do this is in Chapter 3, as you enter the Unitology Recruitment Center. A group of necromorphs will spawn infront of you and all you need to do is pickup a pole on the ground and impale any on of them on the wall at the far side. Remember to shoot the triangle icon to shut the hatch and save yourself from the same fate.
![]() | Hard to the Core | |||||
| Complete the game on Hard Core setting | ||||||
Hardcore is basically Normal difficulty, with a twist - you can only save 3 times, no more than that. The game will warn you and indicate how many save opportunities you have left whenever you approach a save point. Ammo drop rate varies between Normal and Survival difficulty. The game is fairly generous with Medpack drops, especially towards the end of the game.
![]() | Clean Cut | |||||
| Sever all three tentacles of a Lurker with one Line Gun Primary Fire shot (single player only) | ||||||
You’ll first encounter Lurkers in Chapter 5. These small little things will spring up their 3 tentacles when their about to shoot projectiles at your from a distance. Wait till their on the ground and when they do so immediately aim and fire your Line Gun with
![]() | Brute Juke | |||||
| Kill a Brute without taking damage | ||||||
You will have your first real fight with a Brute in Chapter 6 when you meetup with Ellie and Thross. He walks around with his two huge hands like a Gorilla (not to be confused with a Tripod!), has a running charge attack and his weakspots are the 2 areas between his left and right shoulders and body. Focus on 1 area only, wait for him to charge, run sideways then turn around and Stasis him and use the Plasma Cutter, Line Gun, or better yet a charged Primary attack from the Contact Beam. Once you break one of his limbs the fight becomes much easier as you can then stand from afar, wait for him to spit one of the mines and use Kinesis to grab it and throw it back, otherwise finish him with your gun. Be careful not to any damage during the fight, restart from last checkpoint if you do.
![]() | Shoot the Limbs! | |||||
| Dismember 25 Necromorph Limbs (single player only) | ||||||
See Epic Dismemberment.
![]() | Bouncing Betty | |||||
| Kill a Cyst by catching its Mine and throwing it back | ||||||
A Cyst is a small round thing mounted on any wall/floor/ceiling and will shoot mines directly forwards if something approaches it. Grab something with Kinesis, throw it near the Cyst and it will pop the mine, grab the mine while its still in the air and fire it back at the Cyst for this trophy.
Secret Trophies | ||||||
![]() | Patient on the Loose
| Get your first Suit | ||||||
When you come across the first Store panel (Rectangular and orange-ish with a hologram panel in the middle), you will be able to purchase your first Suit for 1,000 credits. There are 1,000 credits on a nearby table so this can’t be missed. Trophy unlocks when you exit the Store.
![]() | Derailed | |||||
| Survive the Train Sequence | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks at end of Chapter 2. You’ll be engaged in a fight where you’re hanging upside down, near the end of Chapter 2. Use the poles around you to impale enemies and shoot the Exploders to take them and nearby enemies out. When the camera shifts, quickly focus on one of the limbs of the Brute on top or you’ll die. When you sever one of his limbs he’ll run away and you’ll wriggle yourself free, along with unlocking this trophy.
![]() | One Small Step | |||||
| Get through the first Zero-G area | ||||||
Story Related. You’ll unlock this automatically after getting through the Zero-G Waste Disposal area in Chapter 3.
![]() | Clever Girls | |||||
| Survive your first encounter with Stalkers | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 4. You will come across a circular dark area with 4 statue pillars in the middle. As you approach the double doors on the lower level, something unexpected happens and you’ll realize you’re not alone – there’s 4 creepy necromorphs in with you now.
![]() | Torment Me No More
| Kill the Tormentor | ||||||
Story related. Unlocks in Chapter 6. After Daina betrays you and you escape, you’ll get up facing the Tormentor. Target the yellow weak spot until he throws you away. Now you need to run forward, Kinesis-grab the door and pull it out of the way and keep running till the end of the hallway.
![]() | The Graduate | |||||
| Win the fight at the School | ||||||
Story related. Unlocks near end of Chapter 6 . In Chapter 6, you’ll come to a stage area in the school and will be swarmed with infant Crawlers and The Pack. I recommend using the Reaper’s Primary Attack to deal with The Pack and the Plasma Cutter or Seeker for the Crawlers. There's a Stasis cylinder in the corner behind the stage where you hacked the panel. The trophy won’t pop immediately after the fight, instead you’ll have to go through a couple of rooms and observe a scene then board the elevator to unlock it.
![]() | Elevator Action | |||||
| Knock off every Tripod during the Elevator Sequence | ||||||
Missable. In Chapter 7, make a save file BEFORE you board the Solar Array Elevator. Once you board it, necromophs known as Tripods will begin to latch onto the windows shortly after. If you have a decently upgraded Detonator and you may be able to achieve this on your first playthrough but it is still very tough even on Casual difficulty. Otherwise, I recommend doing this on New Game+ with a decently upgraded Contact Beam's ALT attack. Video by PowerPyx.
![]() | Shut Down | |||||
| Defeat the AI | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 7. You’ll unlock this after smashing all the Power Cores in the Main Frame of Chapter 7, after connecting the fuses in two circuit rooms connected by a crawl vent. Take note that you can acquire the Peng collectible and trophy in this area as well, refer to the Collect Peng trophy and do this before you smash the Power Cores.
![]() | Powered Up | |||||
| Complete the Solar Array Puzzle | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 7. Eventually you’re going back out into Space and you will need to align two Solar Panels so that they’re directing the sunrays correctly. Press
![]() | Hornet's Nest | |||||
| Destroy the Tripod Nest | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 9. You’ll come to a section where you are supposed to throw Flammable Cylinders at Nitrogen TriChloride (NCL3) tanks. The first NCL3 tank won’t pose much of a problem, but when you go down to destroy the second one however, a Tripod will appear.
![]() | Operation! | |||||
| Snare the Shard with the Ishimura | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 10 . You will be returning to the Ishimura, scene of the first game, and after you’ve fought your way through and activated the gravity tethers in the bridge, trophy unlockts.
![]() | Knock Knock | |||||
| Complete the Drill Ride | ||||||
Story Related. Unlocks in Chapter 12. You unlock this after completing Chapter 12. Stand in the corner infront of the Operator Box where Ellie is in, and use the Ripper to get rid of any enemies that climb aboard. Most of the Lurkers will miss if you’re standing here, though you still will take a couple of hits.
![]() | The Final Sacrifice
| Destroy the Marker | ||||||
Story related. Unlocks after final battle in Chapter 15. First things first, you absolutely need a fully upgraded Plasma Cutter for its damage and speed and a fully upgraded Contact Beam for its ALT area attack that comes with stasis effect to help you on Zealot and Hard Core for the this battle. When you finally reach the Marker, you enter a QTE event, keep tapping
![]() | The Fugitive | |||||
| Escape the Facility | ||||||
Story related. Unlocks after completing the game. After destroying the Marker, you’ll have to go through one last Zero-G Free Fall event, and finally a QTE event. Complete both events and congrats you’ve beaten Dead Space 2, but the Platinum trophy still awaits.
![]() | Cross your Heart, Hope to Die

![]() | The Veteran | |||||

Complete the game on Zealot difficulty to unlock this. Any DLC Weapons & Armor packs you have previously purchased will be available, as well as the Handcannon if you completed Hardcore in the main game.
![]() | Remember the Alamo
| Severed: Kill 16 or more enemies in the final last stand combat sequence | ||||||
Missable Near the end of the game, you finally catch up with Lexine boarding a Transport and two Infectors on the ground in front of you. Take the two Infectors out, and go around collecting all the items in the area first. There should be a Store and a Workbench in the previous area where you came from incase you need it.
![]() | Peng Me Again | |||||
| Severed: Find the Peng treasure in Severed | ||||||
Missable. The Peng treasure is found in Chapter 2. Upon entering the dark briefing room (where a video recording was playing in the main game). You'll observe a Human upstairs fighting against a Slasher. Back out of this room and go the other way instead into a Laundry room. There is a Pregnant in here, and at the back is the Peng treasure. On your way back to the briefing room more enemies will spawn so beware. You can still backtrack to this area even if you save just before the Final section of the game.

![]() | King of the Hill | |||||
| Severed: Defend the quarry platform until the door unlocks | ||||||
Missable. After the Grinding House in Chapter 1, you'll come upon a barely living human calling out to you from above. Go up to him (he'll die in the process) and you'll see an Infector over his dead body. Quickly kill it (and the corpse if it gets up), then activate the panel in the middle. You MUST stay on this platform at all times. Credits Devilish47 for this info.
![]() | Grind House | |||||
| Severed: In the grinder room, cause an enemy to die in the grinders | ||||||
Technically this trophy is missable but because you can reach the area in 5 minutes upon starting the game I've decided not to label it so. Very shortly into the game, you'll come upon the first Store and Workbench. You're given 50,000 credits here so purchase the Force Gun but do NOT upgrade it. Equip it and go into the next room. In the middle of this room is a vertical rotating shaft with blades that serves as the "Grinder". What you need to do is lure enemies to the front of it, stasis them, and use the Force Gun to push them towards the Grinder which will instantly kill them and unlock this trophy. Alternatively you can also Stasis and walk into the Necros to try and push them or use the Contact Beam's ALT fire to knock them off their feet and fall towards the Grinder.
Secret Trophies | ||||||
![]() | The Betrayal | |||||
| Severed: Complete Chapter 1 | ||||||
Story related. This trophy unlocks after defeating the Gunship and boarding the Transport at the end of the Chapter 1.
![]() | The Sacrifice | |||||
| Severed: Complete Chapter 2 | ||||||
Story related. This chapter is actually based on Chapter 1 of Isaac's story and you start off by arriving at the train station where Isaac fought the Tripod, and again you're working your way backwards, retracing the path Isaac took when he first escaped. The trophy unlocks after destroying 4 Fuses on the hangar door and allowing Lexine to escape in the Transport.
![]() | Ship Shape | |||||
| Severed: Take out the gunship within 30 seconds | ||||||
Missable This area is actually based on Chapter 11 of Isaac's story, only you're working backwards towards where he got off from the escape pod in Ishimura. If you played the main game, you should be familiar with the part as you go up a slope while defeating enemies. There is a Save Point at the top room, before opening the second set of double doors, so make a save here just in case.
This is where the Gunship appears and you need to grab the Flammable Cylinders around you then throw them at the Gunship. There is no other way to take it down. It goes down in 3 hits. If you didn't unlock the trophy after defeating the Gunship, restart from checkpoint and try again. Video by RoosterTeeth
