Introduction:

A massively-multiplayer experience, DC Universe Online brings high-energy action to the forefront with a combat system designed to deliver a fast-paced action experience with the extraordinary powers of your personally created heroes and villains at your disposal. Battle with or against their favorite DC Super Heroes and Villains including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. For the very first time, players and fans will be able to enter this fabled world as an active force for good or evil.

Important Tips for First-Time DC Universe Online Players:

  • Your PS3 system must be connected to the Internet to play DCUO, even if you’re playing solo. You must also have an active PlayStation Network account and be logged into the PlayStation Network.
  • There is no Pause. Pressing displays your PDA (Personal Data Assistant), but doesn’t stop anything else in the game.

Character Creation:

Character Creation is the process a player must go through in order to create their own Playable Character. The player is able to choose the statistics that determined their character's abilities, individual strengths and weaknesses, visual appearance, name and sound through a series of options offered to the player shortly after the game starts. All players must go through the Character Creation process in order to play DC Universe Online.

Players may have up to 16 characters per account (character limit subject to change upon online updates/patches), and each character is linked to a specific server. The following is the creation process:

Gender Selection:

1. Choose between a Male or a Female character. This selection does not affect the character's stats.
2. Choose various character build and traits that will make your character's appearance differ from other player's characters. This selection does not affect the character's stats.

Template Selection or "Inspired By" (This is also optional):

Before deciding on your character's Powerset, Weapon, and Costume, the player may choose to be inspired by a famous DC character. Choosing an inspired by character will have the computer automatically choose a Powerset, Weapon, and Costume to match the DC iconic chosen. The character is still open to change in any way or form. Inspiration is to give the player a template to work off of.

Power Selection:

The player's combat strategy determines your role in groups. Each power has two ability trees that the player can specialize in. One is for DPS (Damage Per Second) attack, and the other is for defensive and area-effect purposes (Crowd Control, Tank, Healer).

  • Fire & Ice: These are Tank roles and generally have higher defense and/or health. In group content these characters are responsible for keeping the enemies' attention and taking the majority of the damage.
  • Gadgets & Mental: These are Control roles. In group content these characters manage the enemy swarms by stunning enemies and generally controlling how many enemies are dangerous to the group at one time.
  • Sorcery & Nature: These are Healer roles. In group content these characters are responsible for keeping the group alive by distributing health to the group members.

Movement Selection:

Affects the character's speed, movement style, and maneuvers in combat. It also determines whether the character is a flyer, speedster or jumps from building to building as an acrobat.

Weapon Style Selection:

Your character's hack-and-slash abilities. Each weapon is specialized in either Ranged or Melee abilities, however some are equally useful in both. All weapons have both melee and ranged attacks. You will be able to switch between weapons in the game.

Morality Selection:

The choice of either being a Hero or a Villain. The choice determines the character's mentors, allies and enemies in DC Universe Online. Hero morality will fight crime throughout their adventures. Villains are the bad guys, characters that choose this morality will corrupt citizens and fight for all that is evil.

Personality Selections:

Determines how the character acts and carries themselves throughout the world. Their stance will change, along with their posture, simple movement as well as emote actions. This selection does not affect the character's stats.

Origins and Mentors:

The player's choice of the origin of their powers based of either a Metahuman (Meta), Magic (Magic), or Technology (Tech). This affects who your Mentor will be and their experience of the world, as well as the categories of armor and weaponry that will be available to them. The player will be contacted and asked to do missions by their mentor on a regular basis throughout the game.

Hero/Villain Mentors:

  • Batman and the Joker (Tech)
  • Superman and Lex Luthor (Meta)
  • Wonder Woman and Circe (Magic)

Costumes:

A character's costume is the clothing that defines their appearance in DC Universe Online.

  • Sign up for an Alert (in the On Duty tab).
  • It won’t take long for you to meet a few players that you’d like to group with again. Flag them as Friends and you can see if they’re online the next time you’re ready to play.

Communicating:

  • Voice chat with a headset. Use the Options tab to set preferences. If you’re using a headset, stay friendly.
  • If you play without a headset, you can communicate with gestures (emotes) and chat (both available through the Social Window).

Social:

Press to display your Social window. This lists all characters (both player characters and NPCs) of the type you specify:

  • Social Selection lists all nearby player characters of the type you specify.
  • You may also chat with or view specific characters of other sorts: your current Group, your Friends, your League (an alliance of heroes or villains that you play with regularly), or everyone with you in a Raid.
  • The Advanced Chat window is a larger window, with tabs to manage both your channels and your conversations.

DC Universe Leveling Guide:

Do Missions:

There's no need to farm kills in this game. Basically, players will gain themselves experience by finishing missions. While on a mission's site location, be on the look out for additional bonus missions by looking around the area for a person with a blue ring surrounding them. These NPCs will give you extra missions to do right along aside your main mission's objective. Completing them will help you get more experience faster as well as the main mission itself. It is preferred that you are at an equal or higher level than the mission's suggested level. Do not worry if you are higher leveled than a missions suggested level. Missions will still reward you the same amount of experience upon completion.

Do Alerts:

Alerts are instances in DC Universe Online in which up to 4 random players are joined together in a group and placed an instance battle. The group works together to complete a series of missions within the instance. Each Alert has several smaller bosses leading up to a main boss at the end of the battles. You must be level 9 to access.

Collect Briefings:

While doing missions, be on the lookout for green ? spheres (Investigations), blue ? spheres (Briefings), and yellow ? spheres (Collections). Collecting all of the ? spheres will give you extra experience points to leveling up. Note that the Briefings are worth 1000-2450 experience while the Investigations are worth 450-1450 experience. Collections gives you free items to add to your collections (mainly style changes) and free stuff given to you from your emails. You can use the following fan-made Briefings Site Location Guide to find all the blue ? spheres in the game listed below:

DC Universe Online: Briefings

Way to Check Your Next Level Up:

Look at the purple bar beneath your Ability Tray (your skills loadout) to see how close or how far you are from leveling up to the next level.

Glitch Trophies:

Yes the game appears to have an unknown glitch where players won’t earn their level 30 Acrobat, Flyer, or Speedster trophies. These trophies can be glitch if players hit level 30 while morphed/transformed into a creature that has no movement type such as a Zombie, a Gorilla, etc. Rumor is that the game can’t read your character’s movement type while transformed henceforth you won’t receive your level 30 movement type trophy, but you will still receive your level 30 mentor trophy (Thanks to kyo daikun for the glitch. Original post can be found here).

I doubt that this was ever patched since the developers’ only care about the game’s overall content (updates and monthly content). This game wasn’t really designed to earn trophies which are my very reasons why I doubt it was ever patch. Plus I knew about it beforehand and avoided morphing/transforming when I was level 29. You should do the same.

Roadmap:

There’s a total of 6 playthroughs to be done to achieve your platinum trophy. So the best thing I’m going to do is outline my characters playthroughs. You do not need to follow this outline to 100% the game. But do keep in mind that in order to achieve the level 10 role trophies (Tank, Controller, and Healer roles) and the level 30 movement type trophies (Acrobat, Flyer, and Speedster) you have to use certain type of power sets and movement modes.

Playthrough 1:

Character Information:

Name: Raki
Gender: Male
Team: Hero
Mentor: Batman
Power: Gadgets
Weapon: Rifle
Movement: Super+Speed
World: Countdown
Type: PVE
Days to Level 30: 3 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

For your first character's playthrough you should learn the basics of the entire game one step at a time. During this run I learned the flow of the game. From learning how to find and complete missions and side quests to learning the games entire environments and atmosphere. Also be sure to do the first race you see as you leave your safehouse starting location for an easy gold trophy and 850 points worth experience that will level you from level 3 to level 4. Now on to the character build. My first character was a Hero mentored by the Dark Night, Batman. I went with the power set of Gadgets just to be more like Batman's style of gameplay. Gadgets is a very good power to specialize in and this power set is very good at stunning enemies from close range or from afar. However, since this power set is classified as a Controller Role I found that this build is very bad for taking on multiple enemies at once. With the Rifle as a main weapon choice made this problem go away as I leveled up. The rifle is a very powerful yet slow weapon, but it's a great weapon for Controllers to use. The rifle can be used to spam multiple enemies from afar and can push an enemy back away from you with it's grenade launcher attack by press . Be sure to buy the rifle's Mortar special attack for this is the attack that players can spam away with and kill multiple enemies at once.

Trophies Earned: Platinum Pace, Mission Control, Knight for Justice, and Speedster Supreme

Playthrough 2:

Character Information:

Name: Wonder Kunochi
Gender: Female
Team: Hero
Mentor: Wonder Woman
Power: Ice
Weapon: Brawling
Movement: Flight
World: Justice
Type: PVE
Days to Level 30: 3 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

This is my second playthrough and one that I didn't enjoy either. During this playthrough I noticed that missions are repeats from what I done from my first playthrough. They were just arranged in different orders. This character was a hero mentored by the Goddess of Truth, Wonder Woman. I went with Ice power set because the rumor is that Fire and Ice are the fastest ways to level characters to level 30 faster. Well, I disagree with Ice helping you level faster. Ice powers are okay and can be deadly if you chosen the right abilities to use. I made bad chooses in my powers and leveled more slowly than usual for I was having a harder time doing the level 25-29 missions. This was also because my main weapon, Brawling, was also a very bad choice to specialize in. I shouldn't have invested my character in brawling skills for it's very very slow and I feel as if brawling is the worst of the worst weapons to utilize in. Also I didn't know that you could change your weapons at the Watchtower or The Hall of Dome. If I had known these things before hand, I would have made a much better character.

Trophies Earned: Tanks Very Much, Warrior of Truth, and Fearless Flier

Playthrough 3:

Character Information:

Name: Wisdom Man
Gender: Male
Team: Hero
Mentor: Superman
Power: Nature
Weapon: Dual Pistols
Movement: Acrobatics
World: The Killing Joke
Type: PVP
Days to Level 30: 3 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

This is my third playthrough and I'm doing things a little differently by making my character on a player vs player environment. This means that whenever an opposing Hero or Villain crosses paths, they can duke it out against each other. My character was a hero mentored by the Man of Steel, Superman. My power set was Nature which is classified as a Healer Role. I found that Nature characters can be very weak alone, but with allies and a League of heroes by your side. Nature's powers can be a deadly adversary to reckon with. My main weapon of choice was Dual Pistols, which I discovered was the best chose of weapons for healers. A Healer is meant to heal and to heal requires a great deal of power regeneration. Dual pistols was the first fast hitting weapons that I used in the game and fast hitting weapons can build up the Combo Hit Meter very quickly and effectively. This caused my power meter to regenerate much faster for some healing. This was an okay character that I created, but since this was on a PVP world there's always a catch. For one, level 30s will spawn kill the crap out of your safehouse location. This was very frustrating since it's impossible to take on another player levels far beyond your current levels. Two, while doing mission tasks and another opposing player appears to do their own missions there. Be prepared for one hell of a showdown, seriously...

Trophies Earned: The Healing Touch, Champion of Earth, and Acrobatic Ace

Playthrough 4:

Character Information:

Name: Rockman Magician
Gender: Male
Team: Villain
Mentor: Circe
Power: Sorcery
Weapon: Hand Blast
Movement: Acrobatics
World: Birthright
Type: PVE
Days to Level 30: 3 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

This is my forth playthrough were I begin my villainy terrorism. Before I begin the description details I like to mention that villain's missions are the exact opposite than the hero's missions. There's only a small few that are the exact same missions repeated the same. This character is a villain mentored by the Goddess of Magic, Circe. His power set was Sorcery which is also another Healer Role classification. Honestly this playthrough was to get a comparison between the Nature and Sorcery power sets. And in my personal opinion, Nature is by far the best overall Healer Role in the game. Sorcery really doesn't have the power to heal your allies if you're a villain. Your healing abilities is effected by your roles too, so half of the time I was healing only myself only and not my teammates unlike Nature's powers. My main weapon of choice was the Hand Blast, which I discovered was yet another fast hitting weapon if your spamming the long ranged attacks. Gameplay wise, I was extremely experienced and had no problems reaching level 30 after learning from previous mistakes.

Trophies Earned: The Queen's Favorite

Playthrough 5:

Character Information:

Name: Greenest Night
Gender: Female
Team: Villain
Mentor: Lex Luthor
Power: Fire
Weapon: Bow
Movement: Flight
World: Relentless
Type: PVE
Days to Level 30: 3 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

This is my fifth playthrough and best character that I ever created. This character is a villain mentored by Lex Luthor. This playthrough was just a beast of a playthrough for my character's power set was Fire. Fire is by far the best power set in the entire game in my personal opinion. With the powers of Fire at your disposal you can choose to go the Immolation or Ignition paths on the Power Trees. Immolation is the path I chosen for this path offers you as a sacrifice to the power of Fire to burn your foes to ashes and dust. Not only that, but you can self heal by burning your own self. This makes you act as if you're also a healer while you're really a tank. My main weapon of choice was the Bow, however, I went and branched off into Martial Arts and the Staff. I did this because a Tank Role should have a high Defense and Toughness. Each of these roles gave my character a 30+ bonus to defense and toughness. This is what made my character into beast for I was also focusing on, Health, Power, Might, Restoration and Precision. I still used the bow as my main weapon for it's the fastest long ranged weapon for Tank Role builds. And I spammed the Bow's special attack skill, Trick Shots, which allowed me to rain down a shower of bow arrows upon multiple enemies at once from a distance.

Trophies Earned: Criminal Mastermind

Playthrough 6:

Character Information:

Name: Clown Prince
Gender: Male
Team: Villain
Mentor: The Joker
Power: Fire
Weapon: Bow
Movement: Flight
World: Relentless
Type: PVE
Days to Level 30: 2 days

Brief Playthrough Description:

Believe it or not, this character is the male version of my fifth character creation of Greenest Night. Only difference is that he's a male and he's mentored by the Joker. You should know the rest by now after all your creations and leveling experiences.

Trophies Earned: The Joker in the Deck and Winner Takes All

Ending Notes:

I platinumed the game within my free month subscription. Out of my free month I missed 3 days to level my characters due to personal life issues and education (that's another level 30 character in days worth ). In the end I had 11 days left. So what do I do with those eight days left? Well, if you're a completist. I would advise you to choose your overall best character that you created and invest your remaining days left improving your character's gear and weapons (mine was Greenest Night). You're now open to the game's best weapons and armor and having these will make your most powerful character into a beast. Doing this might and may aid you in future DLC trophy patches if they occur.

DCUO Wiki

Before I begin explaining how to unlock the new DLC Expansion trophies, there are a couple of things that you must know before attempting to 100% this. Below I'll briefly explain what you must be doing daily and weekly:

Your dedicated Hero and Villain:

DC Universe Online isn't about quickly leveling different characters to level 30 just for a platinum trophy. It's about playing the game daily and completing the Daily Alerts, Duos, and Raids (Raids are weekly and the reset night is Wednesday morning) as well as getting your hands on the best possible gear in the game. In other words, I'm advising you to make your decision or select a character that you will always play as and improve. If you wish to make a powerful Controller, Tank, Healer, or either Damage as your Hero or Villain then stick with it throughout the entire journey ahead of you. I do recommend that you have a Damage character for the Lighting Strikes DLC as it'll help make a certain speed feat trophy much easier for you to get. For example, I went with a Hero Nature Power set as a Healer and a Villain Electricity Power set as Damage. For more information on powers and roles visit DCUO Powers Wiki.

Iconic Battle Suits:

The next thing is getting a complete Iconic Battle Suit by exchanging "Marks", which are similar to tokens. Obtaining these suits isn’t that difficult but it is difficult to get the more powerful suits and styles of Tier 2.5 and Tier 3. For now don't worry about getting tier 2.5 or 3 just yet. Just put your focus and time on completing the Daily Duos and alters to get the "Marks of Triumph" in order to get all 8 armor pieces. These will end up giving you a combat rating of 43, which is required for the DLC. Also, be sure you buy your Character's role gear. For example, if you're a healer then buy the Healer Tier 1 gear when exchanging your Marks of Triumphs. After you have gotten a complete Tier 1 set, you're potentially ready because now it's time you put your focus on acquiring some Tier 1.5 and Tier 2 gear. Tier 1.5 gear is the gear randomly dropped while you're completing the hard alerts and duos. Tier 2 is another Iconic Battle Suit but this time you need "Marks of Distinction" which will even take you longer to get in terms of days work compared to the Marks of Triumph. All of this will come off as natural, so I'm not going to go into descriptive details on all the Marks. If you like to know more about marks refer to DCUO Marks Wiki.

Taking Advantage of Free to Play:

The DLCs for this game will require extreme time investment. The thing is playing Free To Play (although Premium member status is recommended) is the way to go, this way you can complete the feats related to the DLC trophies. Once you have purchased any of the month subscriptions and logged in as your character that completed the feats related to the trophies, you'll unlock every trophy that you completed while you have been playing for free. The only problem with this is that Legendary status members receive the DLCs for free while Premium and Free to Play members will not have access to the DLCs if they never had it. In other words, what I'm suggesting here is that you purchase all the DLC (even Lighting Strikes) and work on the trophies while playing for free (or either a 3 month or higher subscription). This will highly benefit in your favour because Fight for the Light adds new Tier 2 Hard alerts that rewards you with Marks of Distinctions as well as good Tier 1.5 gear. This makes getting a complete Tier 2 gear much easier. Lighting Strikes DLC will further make your time and effort much easier as well because the new Lighting Strikes DLC added a new "Mark" into the game called "Marks of Momentum." Marks of Momentum are used to purchase Tier 2.5 gear (found in the vendor at Central City) that is inspired by the Flash. Having that gear will make getting trophies much easier in time and will help you in the future of getting Tier 3 gear. All of this is completely optional but trust me it's for the best. For free and updated FAQ please visit the game's main site at DCUO - Free FAQ.

Completing Feats for more Skill Points:

Feats are in game challenges that you complete for points. There are a variety of different sections and categories, such as Exploration, Alerts, Raids, Styles, and PVP. More feats rewards are always added into the game as more updates, patches or DLC become available in game. Once you have completed different feats for a total of 100 points, you'll earn a new additional skill point for your character. As of January 10, 2012 there are a total of 560 feats available in the game. It's currently unknown how many skill points you can get in total; however, I have seen people at 100 skill points and a member of my clan mentioned that he got his 103 skill point. Remember skill points can help further improve your character's abilities depending on their roles. For more on feats please refer to DCUO Feats.

Step 1: Complete Fight for the Light
Your Hero or Villain should have a complete set of Tier 1 or higher gear by this point with a Combat Rating of over 43. For this step, simply complete all the new Duos and alerts that have been added to the Duty Tab on your PDA (Personal Data Assistant). While playing through these new alerts and duos daily you'll also be working on collect all styles in the Sector Agent & Sector Incendiary set. These styles are Tier 1.5 gear and are only dropped from the bosses, so don't worry about them too much. As of the moment, just keep it in mind for now. The following are the things you need to complete:

  • Coast City Duo
  • STAR Labs Alert
  • Coast City Alert
  • Oan Sciencells Alert

By the end on this step you'll have the Fight for the Light trophy.

Step 2: Continue Completing all the new Alerts and Duos Daily
This step is self-exploratory as you should be logging in and completing all your alerts and dues daily for the "Marks" and other rewards such as feats and loot drops. As you're doing your daily, you should focus on completing the DLC feats which are the trophies. Below are the feats (trophies) you should be going after if you have not completed them yet:

  • Parole Denied (Hero only)
  • Parole Granted (Villain only)
  • Not that Repulsive
  • Willpower Outage
  • Conviction

Step 3: Finding and Joining a Powerful League or Friends
Yes, you'll need to meet and group with powerful players to acquire the harder to get trophies. To do this I suggest playing through your daily alerts every day. Eventually you'll join a group with strong gear of Tier 2 to Tier 3. If you like the way they played or the fact that they made the Alert like a walk in the park. Try asking them if you can join their clan or if you can add them as a friend. Others might acknowledge you if you're a great player and always do your own role during the alerts. For example, I was a Tier 1.5 to Tier 2 Healer as a Hero and was invited into a strong and active Tier 3 League just because I did my role and healed everyone during the League of Assassins hard alert, which we've completed in an astonishing 16 minutes. The game is now overly populated thanks to Free To Play and the merging of the servers (Mega Servers) so you should have no problems meeting or encountering those powerful members. They will help if you ask for their hand. Below are the trophies that fall into this category:

  • Illogical Reasoning (Villain only)
  • Low Battery (Hero only)
  • Not that Repulsive

Step 4: Complete the Styles
For this step, you should be continuing to complete the Coast City Duo, STAR Labs Alert, Coast City Alert and Oan Sciencells Alert daily. This is to focus on collecting all the styles in the Sector Agent & Sector Incendiary set. Remember these are only dropped from the boss fights. When they drop and you see one of the style pieces you still need in your Group Loot tab, ask for it. The Group Loot can be accessed by pressing the button to enter Group Loot if you didn't know this by now. Press the button to "Need" it and if anybody in your group presses the button to "Pass" or to "Greed", you'll receive the gear no matter what. If by chance another person needs it too then it’s determined by the roll results of your "Need" roll. Don't think you'll get these styles right away from each drop. At least expect to continuing hunting for these styles for about a good 1-3 months of effort. On the bright side of all this, you should be a full Tier 2 with some Tier 2.5 gear or even a piece(s) of Tier 3. To keep track of your styles and how close you are to collecting all 16 (8 pieces for each set), simply check your "Feats" in your Deed tab on your PDA. They can be found under "Styles" and then clicking on "Theme Styles" and scrolling down until you see the feat names related to the trophies. Below are the two trophies that are related to the feat rewards:

  • Intergalactic Planetary
  • Planetary Intergalactic

Step 5: Doing It All Over Again
Well here comes the pain. After acquiring all the trophies you can get as either your Hero or Villain. You must switch over to opposite of what you where and do everything all other again. So if you were a Hero be a Villain and if you were a Villain then be a Hero. At the time this guide was written you should not move on to the other side until you have 29 out of 32 trophies. You'll be at 29 out of 32 trophies only if you have the Platinum trophy and both DLC expansions of Fight for the Light and Lighting Strikes. Remember, I suggest doing both DLCs at the same time for the best results. Trust me as this is coming from a veteran.

[PS3T Would Like to Thank blazenarutoshippuden for this Roadmap]

It is the Tank's role to keep the group safe by attracting enemies' attention meaning it’s your job to reduce the overall damage your group takes. Area effect powers such as pulling enemies towards you and gathering them in one big group will make doing this easier. The best 5 weapon styles for Tanks are the Bow, Staff, Dual Wield, Dual Pistols and Martial Arts. Each style gives a bonus of +30 Defense and +30 Toughness. Once you reach level 10 with any character you created, you will automatically acquire the Tank Role and your trophy will pop.

As of The Battle for Earth DLC based off the ultimate showdown with Brainiac. Earth Powers have been added to the game which are classified as Tank Role.

Mission Control
Achieve level 10 and gain the Controller Role

To achieve a level 10 and gain the Controller Role abilities you must select either Gadgets or Mental as your power set from the character creation screen. This role focuses on stunning enemies and providing group support including Power Regeneration. The best weapon styles for Controllers are weapons that give Dominance and Vitalization bonuses. This role focuses on keeping the group alive by distributing health to the group members. A Healer should focus on the following stats: Restoration, Critical Heal Chance, Power, Critical Heal Effect, and Health. All other stats will have no benefit for any healer role. The best weapon styles for Healers are weapons that build up your combo hit meter because the higher your Combo Hit Meter, the faster you will regenerate Power. Dual Pistol's Full Auto, Bow's Flurry Shot and Hand Blaster's Pulse Beam are easy to use attacks that quickly build up the meter. Platinum Pace
Earn a platinum medal in any race. (16)

This is an extremely easy trophy and it can be achieved around the very beginning of the game. Once you have access to leave the Police Station or Night Club that your character starts off in, all you have to do is find any race challenge on the world map. I did mine on my Batman Mentor playthrough. So my character started off in the East Police Station in Gotham City. There’s a race challenge right outside of the East Police Station in Gotham. My hero was a Super+Speed movement type meaning that he was a Speedster type hero. In other words the race type challenges received would be a “Speedster Race Challenge”. The race challenge that’s found outside the starting Police Stations or Night Clubs were your character begins will always be an “Introductory to Race Challenges”. Simply step on the race marker and hold down the button to accept the race’s challenge. When the race starts run your hero or villain through the white rings that are floating around on the streets, sky, or buildings till you reached the finishing ring. Here’s the 1st challenge race’s times:

Introductory (your character’s movement type) Challenge:

  • Bronze: 1:30
  • Silver: 1:15
  • Gold: 1:05
  • Platinum: 1:00

DLC: Fight for the Light
Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 10

Parole Denied
Defeat Red Lantern Vice, Yellow Lantern Lyssa Drak and Evil Star in the Oan Sciencells

Size: 4 Players
Required Combat Rating: 43+

Oan Sciencells is located in the Green Lanterns Corps Headquarters on the planet of Oa; the planetary citadel of the Guardians of the Universe. In this Tier 2 alert, players will have to defeat the criminals who escaped from their Sector Houses. The Sector Houses are safe houses that allow the Green Lanterns to hold the criminals as they wait to be escort back to the Oan Sciencells.

For the trophy and feat, simply face and defeat every boss in this alert. There are a total of four bosses in the Oan Sciencells Alert and their names are as follows:

  • Heroes:
    • Vice
    • Lyssa Drak
    • Evil Star
    • Kronan

  • Villains:
    • Vice
    • Guy Gardner
    • Evil Star
    • Kronan

The thing is, you'll only face 2 of the first 3 bosses named and they are random. The third and final boss fight will always be against Kronan. Therefore you'll have to run the Alert over again to face the other boss that you have faced. Twice for a Hero and twice for a Villain will net you the proper feat and trophy for your character's Faction. Everything else is self-explanatory but try to complete the Oan Sciencells Alert without being knocked out for the Conviction trophy. Just be sure your group for the alert is composed of a Tank, a Healer, a Controller and a Damage.

Warning!

  • Sometimes while playing this alert, a few enemies might get stuck and won't come out of their prisons. If this happens you'll have to lock on to them with the button and keep spamming the long range attack with until you get them to move and exit the prison. I only encountered this problem when I was a villain and it happened more than once within the same alert.
Parole Granted
Defeat Red Lantern Vice, Green Lantern Guy Gardner and Evil Star in the Oan Sciencells

Please see Parole Denied for more information.

Not that Repulsive
Defeat Vice in the Coast City Duo without restarting the repulsor

Size: 2 Players

Coast City is a located in California, USA and is the home city of Green Lantern Hal Jordan. Coast City is also the location of Ferris Aircraft where players will have to face the rage of the Red Lantern Corps in a showdown to save the city and the Universe against Atrocitus. For the trophy and Feat of this Duo, you must simply defeat Vice without restarting the Repulsor.

Vice, a well known member of the Red Lantern Corps

The repulsor is a device made that will help counter the Red Lanterns who are attacking you (It's the device at the start of the Duo when you phase shift in). Essentially you could use this device at the start of the Duo, but many players who go for this feat simply ignore it.

Ignore the Repulsor device and fly, acrobatic or super-speed your way towards the three devices located at the center of the field surrounded by the Red Lantern Corps. These three devices must be carried over to the Red Lantern Logic Batteries that the arrows are pointing towards. Carry them over before their timers explode and try to be as quick as possible due to the Red Lanterns grouping up and attacking you; once all three Red Lantern Logic Batteries have been taken care of. Vice of the Red Lantern Corps will spawn. Defeat him and your Feat of the same trophy name will unlock if you and your partner didn't use the Repulsor (when he spawned).

Below is a video that demonstrates the feat:

Willpower Outage
Defeat the Scion of Will before the Sliceclaws power it up

Size: 4 Players
Required Combat Rating: 43+

The Scion of Will is a NPC that can be found in STAR Labs Research Facility and he serves as the alert's first boss fight. This feat isn't difficult at all and you'll earn it without even trying. Simply focus only on the Scion of Will during the boss fight and ignore the Sliceclaws minions as they won't attack you or your group at all. They will try to power up the Scion of Will whilst you're fighting but are extremely slow at doing so. The boss will be dead long before he even has a chance to get powered up. Just be sure your group for the alert is composed of a Tank, a Healer, a Controller and a Damage. You'll unlock the feat of the same trophy name after you and your group defeated him as long as he never had the chance to power up.

Warning!

  • I almost forgotten to mention this but this Alert can glitch sometimes. Once you start the Alert you're required to kill all the enemies to proceed but there's a high and frequent possibility that one of the enemies will fall through the floor. You can't kill it and will have to quit the alert because there's nothing you or your group can do. This problem is well known but it hasn't been patched yet. This makes getting the style related trophies a pain if this problem keeps happening towards you. Only thing I can say is to tell our group "Kill all the enemies on the stairs first or the game might glitch", they'll listen and the game never glitches.
Illogical Reasoning
Beat the Final Confrontation as a villain without using any Logic Batteries within the Hangar at Ferris Aircraft in Coast City

Size: 4 Players
Required Combat Level: 55-71 Recommend On Whole Group

These two trophies are a pain-in-the ass, since you'll need to do it twice; once as a Hero and once as a Villain. Before I go explaining the trophy and Feat reward (It's a 50 point Feat reward BTW), your characters should both be at a Combat Rating of or over 55. This means you should have either a full Tier 2 Iconic Battle Suit or some Tier 2.5 gear on. The chance of you having Tier 3 at this time are most likely slim to none at all, although Tier 3 pieces would literately own these bosses asses. I was a Tier 2 to 2.5 and my entire group was also Tier 2 to 2.5. Also,

DO NOT DO THESE TROPHIES WITH RANDOMS!

  • They're useless and don't listen to orders to not use the Logic Batteries. The weakest person in the group of randoms always goes for the Battery or those randoms are far too weak to even attempt to face all three at once.

Do what I do and find a powerful clan and friends to join and ask them if they will help you with this feat in your "League" Chat in the Chat Box. Another way is to play Hard T2 Alerts Daily until you find a group of great players and ask them if they want to group up and do this feat with you (by using the "Group" Chat). If they're thinking about it persuade them by saying "It's a 50 point Feat reward if you don't use the Logic Batteries in the hangers during the final confrontation." That text worked for me twice with other awesome geared players that I randomly met in Hard Alerts. Sometimes using the "Inspect" feature to see what others are wearing as armor is also a great way of measuring another player's power.

To obtain both the trophy and Feat reward in the Hangar at Ferris Aircraft in the Coast City Alert, you and your group must defeat all three bosses that you faced during the entire Cost City Alert all at once, as all three will work together to kill you, without using any Logic Batteries within the Hangar at Ferris Aircraft in Coast City. The Logic Batteries are the big power batteries that you see within the hangers (Using one will paralyse the respective Corp of that ring). The Lantern bosses are as follows:

  • The Final Confrontation:
    • Atrocitus of the Red Lantern Corps
    • Amon Sur of the Sinestro Corps
    • Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps

I suggest everyone within the group put all their focus into killing Atrocitus as he is the power house beast of bosses. When he does his spinning sphere grab attack, have everyone hold down the button to block the attack and have the Healer of the group continue replenishing everyone's lost health. The Controller of the group should be regenerating everyone's power meter, and the Tank should be getting all the bosses attention towards him. The Damage should be quickly killing and inflecting heavy damage. As long as everyone does their role and work together, you'll kill one of the Lantern bosses. After you have killed one of them there are two things that will happen depend on your Faction.

  1. If a Hero then
    • the Logic Batteries will vanish into thin air.
  2. If a Villain then
    • the Logic Batteries will burst into flames for the remainder of the fight.

After one of the Lantern bosses falls there will be only two left. If you’ve taken out Atrocitus first, then kill Amon Sur, once Amon Sur is taken care of defeat Kyle Rayner. The last boss by himself is always weak and less aggressive since they're now fighting by themselves. Once he's been dealt with and nobody has used the Logic Batteries during the start of the fight within the Hangers of the final confrontation, you and your group will all unlock the 50 point feat reward and trophy. Congratulations you've earned it because this difficult DLC trophy should have been a or trophy.

Warning!

  • Don't attempt this trophy in an Alert that has already started. If the Alert has been up for over 2 hours and it's on the final boss fight, It is highly likely that others have used the Logic Batteries and still gotten their asses handed to them before they quit the Alert instance. For example when I first did this trophy in an Alert that has been up for over 330 minutes. My League and I defeated the bosses with ease without the batteries and the feat didn't unlock for us. This was because others before us had used the Logic Batteries so be sure that you and you're group have joined a Cost City Alert that started at a 0:00 minute counter.

Intergalactic Planetary
Collect all styles in the Sector Agent set

As mentioned in the Road Map this is a brand new style added into the game along with the DLC. It's basically a Tier 1.5 Iconic Battle Suits inspired by the Lanterns. It doesn't matter wether you're a Hero or a Villain as either Faction will be able to acquire these styles for their character. There are a total of 16 pieces that you'll need to collect with Sector Agent set having 8 pieces and the Sector Incendiary set also requiring 8 pieces.

In order to get the pieces you must be playing and completing the STAR Labs Alert, Coast City Alert and Oan Sciencells Alert daily. This is to focus on collecting all the styles in the Sector Agent & Sector Incendiary set. The only downside to this is that they're only dropped from the boss fights at random. When a piece of a style that you still need to collect happens to drop and you see it within the Group Loot tab, ask for it. The Group Loot can be accessed by pressing the button to enter Group Loot if you didn't know this by now. Press the button to "Need" it and if anybody in your group presses the button to "Pass" or the button to "Greed" you'll receive the gear no matter what. If by chance another person needs it too then it’s determined by the roll results of your "Need" roll. The only good thing that I'll mention here is if the style happens to be your role, then you'll get the style no matter what since the others can't equip it in order to add the style into their own collections. For example a Healer Head Sector Incendiary style dropped. The Tank, Controller and Damage will mostly likely select "Pass" or "Greed" while you on the other hand (assuming you're a Healer in this example) will select "Need" and will get it no matter what. Now if a Damage style drops go ahead and be a bastard and select "Need" since you can equip that style. Don't do this if you're playing with friends or a League or they will kick you out of their clan for breaking the looting rules.

Don't think you'll get these styles right away from each drop. At least expect to continuing hunting for these styles for about a good 1-3 months of effort. On the bright side of this all, you should be a full Tier 2 with some Tier 2.5 gear or even a piece(s) of Tier 3. To keep track of your styles and how close you are to collecting all 16 (8 pieces for each set), simply check your "Feats" in your Deed tab on your PDA. They can be found under the "Styles" and then clicking on "Theme Styles" and scrolling down until you see the feat names related to the trophies.

Warning!

  • If you collect any of the styles while you're still playing the Alert and a System message pops up in the chat box saying the worlds will shut down in 10 to 30 seconds, quickly hit the button and sign off. This will keep your styles and marks you've collected. It was real heart breaking when I logged in after the maintenance ended to find out that I no longer had the two style pieces I collected before the System Server Shutdown.
