Introduction

Welcome to Crazy Strike Bowling from Aksys Games. This is a PS Move required PSN exclusive bowling game that is fantasy based. Much like Pangya Golf, the characters and environments are reminiscent of an RPG or anime.

The system to bowl with the Move is very simple when compared to other more mainstream bowling titles on the PS3. There are basically 3 modes to this game:

Exhibition - Your basic 'play one match' game. In this mode you unlock other alleys and can choose between a standard game, or a 'fantasy' style game where obsticles are in your path, but you will not need to ever play in fantasy mode to get a trophy.

Battle - Battle the computer or a friend in a type of hockey/soccer style game, trying to get all the pins down. In this mode, you CAN choose a difficulty for the computer, but you're not required to beat the computer in this mode for any trophies.

Challenge - You will be required to fulfill many different timed and skill based challenges. It's within this mode you will spend the most time, and get to unlock costumes, balls & the 2 additional characters.

Walkthrough

You have 3 modes to go through to get 100%:

Step One - Exhibition mode

Beat the computer's high score to be #1 in each level and it will unlock the next alley. Once you have finally unlocked Mystic Mine (the last alley), beat the high score on it to unlock it's 'fantasy' version and you will get the "Landlord" trophy. Now, pick any character and any level and just keep trying for strikes, you're aiming to get all of the below trophies:

Union Man
Socialist
XXX
XXXXX
Semi-Pro
Professional

Please see the tips section at the bottom of the Roadmap for advice on how to get strikes.

Step Two - Challenge mode

Here you will do a variety of challenges ranging from hiting a random 1 pin 3 times in a row in a certain amount of time, to simply getting 2 strikes in a row. In order to get 100% for this game, you must complete ALL the challenges. As you complete them, you will unlock the other 2 characters (Mina: Win Math Insanity 3 & for Mr. Jenkins(the bear): Win Special Move Performance 4), more balls and all the costumes. Completion of this step will earn you the following trophies:

Challenger
Super Challenger
Collector

Step Three - Online

Due to the lack of online players, I suggest boosting to get the "Exhibitionist" and "Battlemaster" trophies. If you need a boosting partner, you can find one in the Trophy Boosting thread here:

Tips

After trial and error, you will easily pick up the basics; swinging and letting go of the button is easy, however it's after the release of the button that matters most. You see in Crazy Strike Bowling, after the release, the PS Move controller then goes into 'spin' mode. To explain in easy terms, the move controller itself must be spinned like a meat on a stick. This will 'spin' the ball to the left or right. That is the basic mechanics.

Now, as for my tip, I suggest NEVER to spin. When you start and you have all the pins, do the usual swing and right after release, FREEZE your arm, hand and the PS Move in the exact position and the ball will always go with no spin. Now that you understand that, always keep the Move itself only going directly up and down, never left, or any type of angle. (Kind of like when your syncing the PS Move with the Eye, bowl like that, so it's exactly down to up in a straight line). This is the best and fastest way to get a strike. My best score was 255 (doing 2 spares and all the rest strikes).

Now what happens when you need to hit another pin on the sides? Here's the solution for that. Press the button and hold it down, now move the actual PS Move to the left or right so that it is exaclty in line with the little arrow facing the pin you want to hit, and let go of the button. Now you just need to bowl exactly straight as you did for the stikes. You will NEED this method to get through some challenges, but must be quick when moving, as some challenges are timed and the clock doesn't stop while you're moving.

12 trophies ( 8  )

  • Get 10 strikes in exhibition mode.

    See "Socialist" for details.

  • Get 100 strikes in exhibition mode.

You will need to grind in Exhibition mode for strikes. Strikes from all characters in Exhibition count towards this & after every match the game auto-saves. Keep playing over until you get this. Playing with 2 or more characters is helpful as their strikes will both count towards the trophy.

  • XXX

Get 3 strikes in a row in exhibition mode.

    See "XXXXX" for details.

  • Get 5 strikes in a row in exhibition mode.

The strikes must be in a row by the same character, and in the same game. You will likely get this while grinding for 100 strikes or earlier. See my 'Tips' in the Roadmap above if you're having trouble with this.

  • Win in online exhibition ranked match 10 times.

You must win 10 online Exhibition Ranked matches. Not in a row, but in total. Create a room, and slide the game type from 'Free Play' to 'Ranked', only Ranked wins count. Since there aren't many people online, this is best boosted with a friend. Also note that they don't need to be in a row, so you can take turns if you desire. If you want it done quicker, change it to the lowest time and wins needed. If you need a boosting partner, you can find one in the Trophy Boosting thread here:

  • Acquire all non-downloadable classic and fantasy locations.

This is done in Exhibition mode. You must beat the top score for any specific alley to unlock its 'fantasy' version, and achieving this also unlocks the next 'classic' alley. Once you unlock 'Mystic Mine', the last classic alley, and beat it's high score, you'll unlock it's fantasy version and the trophy will unlock. Note that you never need to play a fantasy version of an alley for any reason. Here's a detailed breakdown of the classic alley's in the order you'll unlock them:

    • Windmill Village (default alley)
    • Grand Canyon (get high score on Windmill Village)
    • The Amazon (get high score on Grand Canyon)
    • Vivid Stadium - Daytime (get high score on The Amazon)
    • Frost Temple (get high score on Vivid Stadium - Daytime)
    • Sakura Garden (get high score on Frost Temple)
    • Great Dragon Wall (get high score on Sakura Garden)
    • Forgotten City (get high score on Great Dragon Wall)
    • Snow Land (get high score on Forgotten City)
    • Vivid Stadium - Night Time (get high score on Snow Land)
    • Mystic Mine (get high score on Vivid Stadium - Night Time)
  • Acquire all non-downloadable balls, characters and costumes.

For this, you must beat ALL of the Challenges to unlock everything. The Challenges unlock balls, costumes, & 2 characters. This is rather difficult, & is only a single player mode. I suggest going for the non-timed Challenges first, until you're comfortable with my 'Tips' in the Roadmap. Even after that, it will be difficult. Below is the full list of what you need to unlock for this trophy, and what specific challenge you must complete to unlock it:

  • Score 150 or more in a match.

    See "Professional" for details.

  • Score 250 or more in a match.

Use my 'Tips' to get comfortable with pulling off strikes. As you grind for 100 strikes in Exhibition, you should be trying for this. To get 250, you can get 2 spares only, & all the rest have to be strikes. This has to be for 1 character in 1 match, though it can be done if you're playing multiplayer or online. If you have 2 PS Move controllers, you could give yourself 2 tries to get 250 by playing both sides.

  • Win 10 challenges.

    See "Super Challenger" for details.

  • Win 30 challenges.

This is not all of the challenges, so you will get this if you are trying for the "Collector" trophy. Please see "Collector" for details.
