-----------------------------------------------------
Quick Overview
Borderlands is a RPS(Role-Playing Shooter). It has similarities to Diablo, World of Warcraft for its Role-playing elements, and first-person shooters such as Call of Duty and Killzone. You're skill as a FPS gamer is the skill you will have in the game. So your critical hits are not based on skill points, as they are based on skills of shooting enemies in their weak spots. You will have a skill tree. I suggest planning out what you want before you actually start putting points on there. There is a "reset skill points" option, but it does cost in-game money. The online is up to 4-players and loads of fun, as you can also locally play with a friend in split-screen.

Good luck all of you Trophy Hunters!
-----------------------------------------------------

Road to Platinum

Step One: Finish Quests on First Playthrough
Go through the storyline and finish all quests, including side quests, on your first playthrough. This will help you with the leveling trophies, the Boss trophies, and ofcourse the Quest trophies.

Step Two: Clean-Up
Make sure to get the miscellaneous trophies. If you don't get one, such as the Claptrap one, than its going to get a bit confusing when you go through your second playthrough and not sure of the one you're missing.

Step Three: Use Co-Op
You will need to use Co-Op some to get some trophies. You can use Split-Screen to do this, but Online will also count. When doing Co-Op, all can be done on Split-Screen except the viral trophy '...And They'll Tell Two Friends.'.

Step Four: Level, Level, Level.
You will need to grind leveling MASSIVELY to get the level 50 trophy. You will be in the 30-35 when you finish the first playthrough most likely, and you should start on the second playthrough. You can always check the Trophy Boosting thread to get someone who is already level 50 to bring you through harder areas for you to level quickly.

Moxxi Overview

+ Estimated trophy difficulty: 8/10
+ Offline: 5 (1 3 1)
+ Online: 0
+ Approximate time: 10-15 hours
+ Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
+ Missable trophies: None
+ Glitched: See "Big Tournament".
+ Cheats: See road-map!

Moxxi Road-map

All the enemies are the level of the "host" (weakest enemy is level 12). NOTE: In split-screen, the "host" is controller 1. Play in split-screen or online with the "host" player being level 12 or under, and it will be a breeze for a high level player to beat the missions. That is if you are patient, this will take a LOT of time...

I suggest you go to your PS3 Power Settings and set it to not power off the controllers. Make a brand new character in split-screen on controller 1 (the "host"), with your strongest character on controller 2. For the rest of this, you will be playing on controller 2. As soon as you can, use the New-U station to fast travel to "The Underdome". In The Underdome you will find a bank to store 12 items (you can buy upgrades depending on the host's level) and an in-game board to start the missions.

Follow the straight-forward missions to get all trophies, completing matches in the six numbered Coliseums. When you complete the first three coliseums, you will get the "Small Tournament" trophy. Then as you complete the larger coliseums, you will get the trophy for each coliseum. Upon finishing the third of the larger challenges, you will get the final two trophies (the for that particular larger coliseum, and the for doing all the larger coliseums.)

There is a complex cheat to skip some levels as well, click here: Underdome glitches

Secret Armory Overview

+ Estimated trophy difficulty: 8.5/10
+ Meta-critic rating: 85/100
+ Offline: 10 (2 8)
+ Online: 0
+ Approximate time: 15-20 hours
+ Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
+ Missable trophies: None (you can do the non-mission ones at any point)
+ Glitched: See "Completionist".
+ Cheats: See "Vincible".

Secret Armory Road-map

Step 1: Play-through
From any New-U station, fast travel to "T-Bone Junction", where you will begin this DLC.

Just like all the DLC, there is only one New-U station, which is located in T-Bone Junction. This can be irritating but it can also be used to your advantage. If you are in the Sunken Sea and need to get to T-Bone Junction, you can exit the level and when you back into the game you will be in the T-Bone Junction.

Play through all the main and side missions for "Completionist" and story related trophies.

When you get to Cramerax, follow the strategy in"Vincible" to level up to 61 on it's minions, and then kill Cramerax.

Step 2: Missed something?
If you missed "Sneaky Little Buggers", "Speed Kills" or "Sucker Born Every Minute", now is the time to do those.

DLC: Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
Cost: $9.99 Trophies: 5

House of the Ned
Completed the 'House of the Ned' mission

Story related, cannot miss.

This trophy is the first one you will get. After you activate the turrets in Jakob's Cover and talk to the claptrap, you will be told to meet Dr. Ned. Once you get to the waypoint and activate the intercom, you'll be tasked with holding off a few waves of enemies while Ned lowers the elevator. You should also take this opportunity to get as many headshots as possible, for the Brains quest. The trophy will unlock once you turn in the quest.

Jakob's Fodder
Completed the 'Jakob's Fodder' mission

Story related, cannot miss.

You get this mission in Dead Haven, in Dr. Ned's lab. Just pick up the ECHO recordings, proceed to the waypoint, and activate the control panel. You'll have to fight off several enemies in the process, but apart form that, its pretty simple.

Braaaaaaaaaaaaains!
Completed the 'Braaaaaaaaaaaaains!' mission

This is the most time consuming trophy in the game, though it can be made easy if you start the quest the first chance you get. This quest is the fifth of a series of a quests, which task you to obtain 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250 brains each. Brains are dropped by zombies if you kill them with a headshot.

To activate this quest, you need to go to Hallow's End (which you will go to for the House of The Ned mission) Once there, open your map and scroll to the south west corner. You will see two little clearings set apart from the main area. The south one is where you need to start the quest. Walk over there, killing enemies in your way (do NOT pick up their brains now!), and you will see a familiar object from the main story. Pick it up, go inside the shack and give it to an old friend from the main story. You can now accept the Brains! quests from him.

One thing to keep in mind while doing this is that brains do not carry over between the quests. For example, if you need to turn in 10 brains, but have collected 15 brains and turn them in, he will take ALL your brains and you'll start at 0 on the next quest, even though you had 5 extra. As such, its best to leave brains on the ground if you've already collected the required number of brains for the current quest. You can always return and pick up the brains- they won't disappear, unless you quit the game.

A good tip is to use the shotgun for headshots. Try not to use elemental weapons, as the last hit might be elemental damage, and not the headshot, and you won't get a brain.

Secret Trophies
Night of the Living Ned
Killed Ned...sort of.
Story related, cannot miss.
You need to beat the "Night of the Living Ned" quest for this trophy. The way to Dr. Ned's Mill is straightforward. Just proceed towards the waypoint, and enter the mill. Go through the long corridor, and you will find Ned at the end of it. Killing him is really easy- he only has a weak pistol, and the same amount of health as a typical Raider. Bring out one of your SMGs or Combat Rifles and bring him down with a string of headshots.
Ned's Undead, Baby, Ned's Undead
Killed Ned. Again.

Story related, cannot miss.

You need to beat the "Ned's Undead, Baby" quest for this trophy. This quest begins at the end of the last one. You might be a little confused as to how to go about this one- after killind Ned, go forward, down the stairs, and you'll see a hole in the ground. Drop into it, and you'll reach a large arena where you'll fight Dr. Ned, zombified. He is much tougher this time around, with a larger amount of health. His first attack will be to walk towards you and swipe at you- this is easily dodged. Later in the fight, he will summon Psychos to fight you- dispatch any which are close to you, then turn your attention back to Ned. Ned will also disappear into the ground, pop up beside you, and slash you. The only way to avoid this is to keep moving, and to keep an eye on the red dot on your radar which tells you where he currently is. After you've taken out the majority of his health, he will start spinning, and rush at you. Be sure to dodge this at all costs, since it takes away a chunk of your shield/health.

To deal damage to Ned, use a good automatic weapon, and go for headshots. A shotgun also works well, because of Ned's large size. He also appears to be particularly susceptible to fire damage.

DLC: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
Cost: $9.99 Trophies: 5

Small Tournament
Completed the lesser challenge in all 3 coliseums

The first three challenges are given to you when you use the Thunderdome in-game Bulletin Board. The coliseums have big numbered signs "1", "2" and "3" above them, in addition to the way-marks for the mission.

Each of the lesser coliseum challenges has five rounds, with five waves each (total of 25 waves per coliseum, so 75 waves total for this trophy).

When you complete these three coliseums and hand in the mission, you will get this trophy and a bonus skill point for all characters that completed it (you can actually get one per play-thru, so a level 50 character will have 52 skill points if done on both play-thrus).

See "Big Tournament" for information on wave rules and loot.

Hell-Burbia
Completed the larger challenge in the Hell-Burbia coliseum

See "Big Tournament".

The Angelic Ruins
Completed the larger challenge in The Angelic Ruins coliseum

See "Big Tournament".

The Gully
Completed the larger challenge in The Gully coliseum

See "Big Tournament".

Big Tournament
Completed each of the larger challenges in all 3 coliseums

Each of the larger coliseum challenges has twenty rounds with five waves each (total of 100 waves per larger coliseum, total of 300 additional waves for the larger coliseums, or a total of 375 waves total for this DLC). Along the way, you will also get the trophy for each coliseum as you complete them.

GLITCH WARNING: Be sure to use the same character for all three large tournaments, on the same play-through. So, if you are doing them on play-through one, don't join an online Moxxi tournament doing play-through two.

In some extremely rare cases, the individual trophies will unlock, while the Big Tournament does not. Someone has posted that loading that character save a few days later may unlock it.

(credit to Terminator for pointing out the glitch info)

When in Rome:

- You will NOT get any EXP or Weapon Proficiency skills.

- You WILL get credit towards challenges, and will earn EXP if you complete those here.

- All waves, except the final/boss wave, will have supply drops after the round. Run to the big pills to restore Health and Crates to collect Ammo.

- The final wave of each round is a boss wave. After killing the boss, some loot will spawn in the starting cage (underneath the penalty zone that controller 1 will constantly be in if you are doing this the easy way). Run there in time to nab the loot. The loot will be adjusted to match the level of the "host" player, so the loot will suck if doing the cheat.

- There are quite a number of rules/maxims, applied randomly per wave. You will at some point have one rule/maxim applied and progressively it will build in the larger challenges to four rules/maxims simultaneously. After a wave, the rules/maxims will randomly get redone. For a full list of rules, click here.

DLC: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Cost: $9.99 Trophies: 10

Making a Monster
Built the New Car: Monster

Story-related. You will unlock this after you complete the "Grease monkey" mission.

Athena, Out
Rescued Athena

Story-related. You will unlock this after you complete the "Prison Break: Try Not to Get Shanked" mission.

Depot Demolition
Destroyed Lance Depot

Story-related. You will get this during the "Loot Larceny" mission.

Sneaky Little Buggers
Killed each of the loot midgets

There are 5 types of loot midgets for this DLC. You just have to kill one of each kind. They are as follows:

Meat Popsicle: In the T-Bone Junction, when you are on the mission "Boost the Monster" you will go down a couple of houses on grates. The last house has a locked door and on the other side is a switch. Flip the switch and the door will be unlocked. Inside the freezer resides Meat Popsicle. He is also located in the Prison after you kill Jerome and Mr. Shank threatens you. Go straight, through the door in front of you and there is another Meat Popsicle in the freezer.

Truxican Wrestler: Truxican Wrestler is located in a couple of the lockers. I found him to the left as you first enter the prison and is also in various other lockers throughout the prison.

Mini Steve: Mini Steve is also located in the prison and he is inside of the red loot chests. There are a couple of places that he could be, like the Truxican Wrestler, but I found him by the broken Claptrap. I also found him in places other than the prison; in a chest by Moxxi's Graffiti #1 and by the Took Pipe in the "Purple Juice!" mission.

Crimson Shorty: Crimson Shorty hides in the Lancer Chests and can be commonly found during story mission 14. If you are facing the entrance to the armory, turn around 180 degrees and he is in the chest on the left.

Dumpster Diver: During the mission "Little People, Big Experiments," you will come to a room where you face off with Motorhead. After you beat him, on the left wall there is a dumpster. Open it and the final loot midget will be before you.

Speed Kills
Destroyed a Lancer while in a Racer

Fairly simple trophy. After you complete the "You've Got Moxxi: Moxxi's Red Light" mission, you will gain access to the Racer. You can shoot and destroy the Crimson Lancer entirely in the Racer (which you first meet on the highway after the above mission) or you can shoot it, get into a Racer, and then destroy it to get the trophy. You can also obtain this trophy if you are in the car whil your teammate destroys the Crimson Lancer.

Ding! Overleveled
Reached Level 51

See "Ding! Overleveled to 11".

Completionist
Completed all missions in Secret Armory

There are 44 missions (including side missions) in this DLC, and all of them must be completed to get this trophy.

The missions are given by: Agent 01, Atlas informant, Athena, Claptrap, Circle of Duty Director Zach, Lance ECHO, Marcus, Moxxi, Radar device, Scooter, T-Bone Junction Bounty Board and Thirsty the Midget. For an in-depth mission guide, click here

GLITCH WARNING:
1) If you jump into an online game in this DLC: the game may mark missions active again, or give you missions you don't desire yet. Either a) redo all the missions with the host you got glitch-ed on, or b) find someone else that is doing those no-longer-possible mission(s). (credit to Evil Colin for the solution)

2) Do not hand in any missions to Marcus till you are done with regular missions!

Do not accept mission "Super-Marcus Sweep" till after you turned-in "Loot Larceny".
Do not accept mission "It's Like Christmas!" till after you turned-in "Super-Marcus Sweep".
Also, if you (or an online partner) uses the glitch to loot the armory, you may not be able to complete these missions. Finding someone else to join for the mission MAY fix it.

Vincible
Killed Crawmerax the Invincible

This is the hardest boss fight in the entire Borderlands game (so far). Both Crawmerax and it's spawning minions can kill you in one to two hits...

Strategy:

- Craw Maggots: weak to Shock, shoot in it's glowing eye

- Armored Craw Worms: weak to Acid

- Green Craw Worms: weak to Fire, shoot in eyes for critical

- Crawmerax: Kill the above minions till you hit lvl 61, it will be fast. Now, a low accuracy weapon is the way to go, as you have more of a chance to hit Crawmerax's purple weak spots. Shoot each purple-head till it pops, when all the zits are gone, Crawmerax is dead.

We have two videos, one showing a legit kill, and one showing a safe spot!

Ding! Overleveled to 11
Reached Level 61

You need a total of 5,985,087 XP to hit level 61. This is easiest on play through 2 (available after you beat the base game once) or 2.5 (after you beat it twice), which increases the enemy levels and experience from killing them). I would recommend playing through this DLC on play-through 2 and you will level up much faster than on play-through 1. Just go around completing missions and killing enemies and you will continue to level up.

The best locations for EXP are:
1) Crawmerax minions re-spawn as long as Crawmerax lives, so farm (ANY play-through) See "Vincible".
2) Eridian Promontory on play-through 2 (close to the end of the base game)
You can also join an online game of someone doing this (boosting thread)

Specials by class:

- If you and/or your party are soldier(s), equip the Soldier Class Mod "Leader", which can give up to 25% Bonus TEAM Experience! If you have a party of four soldier's with the 25% bonus each, that is double EXP for everyone...

Secret Trophies
Sucker Born Every Minute
Paid for a worthless tour of the world's largest bullet

The World's Largest Bullet is located in the Sunken Sea. When you get mission 11, "Code Breaker: Time is Bullets" you will go nearby to pick up a communication device. Complete the mission, then walk back outside the mini-town where there is a pole that saves the game (next to the catch-a-ride and school bus).

Now go to the house next to the bullet. On the house there are numerous arrows pointing to a box with a money symbol on it. You need to deposit 8 million dollars and you will get this trophy. Hit and "quit game". When you load back up, you will both have your money back and be at your destination. Now who's the sucker?!?
