One the first games released on PSN, Blast Factor is an arcade shooter that will guide you through more than one-hundred infected cells. There are lots of different enemies waiting for you and bosses which become stronger and faster after every specimen! Every typology of enemy has it's hidden ability that could be activated if you use the wrong weapon on it (and you'll discover it playing this game!) but you're not helpless against these viruses. With your Repulsor (it's slows time for a few seconds and repulse the enemies near you) and power-ups that you can get during the game and tidal waves (which propel enemies across the screen and can be generated by tilting left and right your controller), you'll be able to decontaminate every specimen and enjoy yourself for more than 10 hours of playing!
1: Complete Basic Research Mode
Basic Research levels are included in the basic version of the game and everyone can get trophies related to it. It's very easy compared to Advanced Research and I suggest to get the most part of trophies during this phase, like Chain-Tastic, Jackpot, Immortal and many others.
At the end of this phase you should have:
Junior Researcher
Graduate Researcher
Head Researcher
Chain-Tastic
Jackpot
Immortal
Death Wish
Death Wish Part III
Doing the Dishes
Chain Gang
The Cleaner
Life is Good
Matador
2: Complete Advanced Research Mode
Advanced Research is only available with Blast Factor Advanced or through DLC. This mode is not very different from Basic Research but will introduce new enemies and the survival cells. These are stages in which you won't lose lives and will let you to access the hard cells (usually #4 and #5) of the specimen. Doing these cells sometimes could be a problem (and you need to complete them to unlock Survivor and Ultimate Survivor), but you have to be relaxed and not to become angry if after 20 times doing a survival cell you die. During this phase you could get Tough Guy and Attention to Detail. The reason I suggested to do these trophies now are explained in the trophy guide (See Attention to Detail).
At the end of this phase you should have:
Advanced Junior Researcher
Advanced Graduate Researcher
Advanced Head Researcher
Tough Guy
Attention to Detail
Death Wish Part II
Survivor
Ultimate Survivor
3: Complete Hybrid Mode
Hybrid Mode is an endurance mode which mix Basic Research and Advanced Research specimens. You'll start with Specimen 1 of Basic Research, then you'll do Specimen 1 of Advanced Research and so on until you reach the final specimen of both the researches (specimen #12 and #13). That's also an opportunity to earn some trophies missed during phase 1 and 2 (see the list above) and if you want to do it with a friend, you'll unlock also the Friends Forever trophy.
At the end of this phase you should have:
Mix It Up
Friends Forever
4: Complete Basic and Advanced Researches in 2xAT Mode
2xAT mode is the faster version of Normal mode. Everything become more dangerous and difficult (especially the last boss of Advanced Research). You'll need a lot of practice before you could handle the situation properly.
At the end of this phase you should have:
Speed Master
Advanced Speed Master
5: Complete Co-Op Mode (Optional)
This step is for everyone that has not completed Hybrid Mode in Co-op during step 3. I suggest you get the trophy related to the Multiplayer mode by playing Basic Research, the easiest mode in this game. You can find tips and other useful things by reading the part about Friends Forever trophy in the trophy guide.
At the end of this phase you should have:
Friends Forever
6: Clean-Up
If you missed one or more trophies during this walkthrough, this is the time to get them and smile when you'll get another 100% of completion in your trophy collection!

 | Junior Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Specimen 1 | |
See ”Head Researcher”. |
 | Graduate Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Specimen 4 | |
See ”Head Researcher”. |
 | Head Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Specimen 7 | |
Complete BR. If you are playing with a friend, you should have few problems completing it. If you are playing Single Player, you might have to try a few times, but then you are getting familiar with each cell and will know how to get past it.
In the process you will get ”Junior Researcher” and ”Graduate Researcher”. |
 | Chain-Tastic | |
| Get x100 chain multiplier | |
This trophy is easiest done in one of the earlier Boss Cells in BR. When enemies start to spawn, do not kill them. Instead use the tip attack (tilt the controller to either side), causing all the enemies to gather in a group at one side. Still, do not kill any enemies, but as more enemies spawn, continue to use the tip attack. When no more enemies spawn, or when you think there is enough enemies to get the trophy, start shooting the boss while keeping the rest of the enemies together in one side using your tip attack.
When the boss dies, the rest dies aswell, giving you a large multiplier - hopefully big enough for the trophy.
This should also give you ”Death Wish Part III". |
 | Survivor | |
| Finish a Survival Cell without dying | |
See ”Ultimate Survivor”. |
 | Ultimate Survivor | |
| Finish all Survival Cells without dying | |
There are no Survival Cells in BR, so for this trophy you will want to play AR. There are seven different Survival Cells and basically a Survival Cell is like any other cell, the only difference is that you do not need to survive these cells to proceed. By surviving though, you recieve an extra life and will enter a harder cell than if you died.
You can get the trophy in both Single Player and Co-op, but I suggest getting it in Single Player, since the cell is smaller than regular cells and it will get crowded in no time.
In the process you will get ”Survivor” too. |
 | Jackpot | |
| Complete a Specimen without dying | |
See ”Immortal”. |
 | Immortal | |
| Complete 3 consecutive Specimens without dying | |
It can be done in Single Player, but I do suggest playing with a friend if possible. Friend or not, it is easiest done in BR, so start up Specimen 1 and take it easy. There is no need to take any chances. I also suggest letting the time run out if you can, so that you will enter the easy cell, which will make life much easier to you. Use the Repulsor or the tip attack whenever you are in the slightest trouble.
This should give you ”Jackpot” along the way, and since you start out with 2 lives and get 3 lives in each Specimen (1 after the Bonus Cell, 1 after cell 7 and 1 after the Boss Cell) you should get ”Life is Good” as well. |
 | Mix It Up | |
| Complete Hybrid mode | |
This is one of the hardest, and probably the most time consuming trophy in Blast Factor. Hybrid Mode/Research is basically BR and AR all in one. Specimen 1 is Specimen 1 from AR, Specimen 2 is Specimen 1 from BR, Specimen 3 is Specimen 2 from AR and so on.
If you have a friend to get this trophy with in Co-op, do it! It can be done in Single-Player (thats how I did it), but it is much easier with a friend. Why? Because your progress is not saved if you turn of your Playstation, meaning you will have to do this whole HR in one long run. |
 | Death Wish | |
| Complete a Boss Cell without using the Repulsor | |
Should be easy enough. During your first boss fight in BR, do not use your Repulsor (by pressing either , , or ). Instead, shoot the enemies with your normal attack. If you should get in trouble, use your tip attack, to get some free space, then finish of the enemies and the boss. |
 | Death Wish Part II | |
| Complete a Survival Cell without using the Repulsor | |
Easiest done in the earlier Survival Cells. Make sure you do not use the Repulsor (By pressing either , , or ). If in trouble, use the tip attack instead (tilt the controller to a side). |
 | Death Wish Part III | |
| Complete a Boss Cell without destroying any enemies | |
See ”Chain-Tastic”. |
 | Doing the Dishes | |
| Flip 10 Big Tip enemies with one tip | |
These Big Tip enemies are those big, round, grey, stone like things, you know which ones when you see them. Anyway, there are very few places with 10 or more of them. The easiest place is in BR Specimen 2, cell 5. Clear out the first wave of enemies and position yourself in the right side of the cell. The Big Tips will now spawn 2 at a time in the left side. Wait till there is 10 of them, and then do your tip attack by tilting your controller to the left. The trophy should now pop up. |
 | Chain Gang | |
| Destroy 5 Big Chains with one shot | |
First off, a Big Chain is that little grey thing with 6 legs. You can not kill these enemies simply by shooting at them, they can only die if you kill an enemy close to it. There are several places where there are 5 or more of these enemies (one place is BR Specimen 4, cell 3). Let at least 5 of them spawn, use your tip attack to get them in a tight group, then wait till it releases a group of enemies. Now tip attack them again and shoot those normal enemies to blow up all the Big Chains. It might take a few tries, but eventually you will get the trophy. |
 | Tough Guy | |
| Complete all hard Cells in any mode | |
See ”Attention to Detail”. |
 | Attention to Detail | |
| Complete all Cells in any mode | |
To get this trophy, you will need to unlock - and complete every single cell in either BR, AR or HR. You might think that BR would be ideal, but considering 1) that there are 70 cells in Advanced Research compared to 91 cells in Basic Research (Bonus Cells excluded) and 2) that there is a trophy for surviving all seven Survival Cells, which unlocks the hard cells, it is much easier to do this in Advanced Research.
Whenever you survive a Survival Cell, do anything you can to complete the 2 following hard cells. If you, later on, still are a few cells short of this trophy, play through Advanced Research again, with only those remaining cells in mind. |
 | Speed Master | |
| Finish Blast Factor™ Basic Research in 2xAT mode | |
2xAT mode is basically the same as normal mode. The cells are the exact same. The only difference is that everything goes a lot faster than you are used to.
Since you know how all cells are like from your normal mode playtrough this is easier done than you think. When starting up 2xAt mode for the first time though, you might die within the first few cells, but do not worry. Give it a few tries to get used to the higher speed, and before you know it, you will probably think that normal mode is slow and 2xAT is actually the normal speed. |
 | The Cleaner | |
| Clear a Cell using the Super Repulsor | |
This is easiest done in BR Specimen 2, cell 2 easy (note: cell 2 - easy, therefore let the time run out in cell 1 to enter the easy cell) in BR. Clear out the first wave of enemies and a powerup will appear. That is the Super Repulsor. Grab it and get ready to press either , , or . A second wave will appear at this point, get yourself positioned in the middle of the cell. Let the enemies close in on you and when you think they are near enough, unleash the power of the Super Repulsor to clear the cell of enemies and recieve the trophy for it. |
 | Life is Good | |
| Get 10 lives | |
See ”Immortal”. |

| DLC: Advanced Research |
| Cost: 4.99 Trophies: 5 |

|
 | Advanced Junior Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Advanced Research Specimen 1 | |
See ”Advanced Head Researcher”. |
 | Advanced Graduate Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Advanced Research Specimen 4 | |
See ”Advanced Head Researcher”. |
 | Advanced Head Researcher | |
| Complete Blast Factor™ Advanced Research Specimen 7 | |
Same as in BR, complete all seven specimen. You will probably have some problems, but once you know what each cell will bring, you should have few problems.
In the process you will get ”Advanced Junior Researcher” and ”Advanced Graduate Researcher”. |
 | Advanced Speed Master | |
| Finish Blast Factor™ Advanced Research in 2xAT mode | |
Same as ”Speed Master”. Get used to the higher speed, and you should make it. The last 2-3 specimen are quite tough at this speed though, so you might have to give it some tries. |
 | Matador | |
| Dodge 10 Repulsed Back AR's at the same time | |
Back AR's are the enemies with the purple tail (note: not the ones with a yellow tail). To get the trophy, all you need to do is to use your Repulsor when there are 10 or more of these enemies, and then make sure you do not get hit by them when they repulse back at you. Your first encounter with them is in BR Specimen 6, cell 1. You will not fight 10 of them there though. In AR Specimen 4, cell 4 however, there are 10, so this is where you want to get the trophy. |

| DLC: Multiplayer Pack |
| Cost: 2.99 Trophies: 1 |
| |
|
 | Friends Forever | |
| Complete last Specimen in Co-op for any mode | |
To get this trophy you will need to
A) Play with a friend in one of the 3 modes (this can be your way to finish HR!).
B) If you do not have the opportunity to play with a friend, but do have a second controller, it is possible to get this trophy anyway. Turn on both of your controllers and enter Co-op mode (BR is your best bet in this situation). Now, play with one of the controllers while ignoring your second player - he will die eventually, but thats all good. As long as you can complete the specimen on your own, you will be fine. However, the last couple of specimen is going to be quite tough to get through, considering you will have no lives at all (since player two used all of them). Just take a short break at each checkpoint and keep focused at all times. Sooner or later you have completed specimen 7 and the trophy will be yours.
