Finish episode 18 on normal with "S" rank & you'll get the mortal guage. Replay the game with it equipped |

Actually that post is inaccurate, I believe you have to earn 10 "S" ranks any difficulty. I'm at 8 now will re-post to confirm |

As long as you play on easy this is not particularly hard to do. The hardest challenge comes from the shooting areas as you have to play particular attention to the missiles that come in at you.
The boss fights in the last four stages can be quite frustrating as Deus and Vlitra cause a lot of damage even on Easy and their attacks can be hard to dodge sometimes.
Just keep at it.

It´s a hard task to do even on easy difficult but the prize is (Obliterator bar). Watch out for the bosses and missiles.
The score it´s not important and you can (and will) continue several times.

18-2 sucks. It sucks. But once you do it ...
Nah, it sucks. Hang back for the invincibility. Not sure if easy is harder because it kicks in automatically or not. |
