This is definitely cumulative and I have not heard of it being glitched. 100 coins is a lot more than it seems honestly. Just keep going and you'll get it. If you really think there is something glitched in your game save, back it up and start a new one and then start counting.

Not sure there is any best way, but I'd stick to the first few levels since they only have one row of balls between you and the coins. They are also easier to create gaps.

I would assume so, but for me it just popped up while I was progressing through the game.

I've just done it, it's definetely not 100 in a row I think it's 100 in the same level.

I got mine by deleting my save.
Starting a new game.
Going to Gauntlet and just playing the same level over and over again (about 15 coins per game) after about 6 or so games I got it.
Either the trophy was glitched or it is 100 in the same level, I know it's not 100 in a row because I missed quite a few.

I definitely didn't do it all on one board. I was simply going through story mode and it popped up at some point... Not sure what was happening in your case, but at least you got it now.

I'm having trouble with this one.

Have been doing the Spiral of Doom on Gauntlet and keeping a tally of all the coins i get each time. I am currently on 106 coins and still no trophy.

Will have to delete my game and try again I think.

I'm having the same problem, I completed both the Adventure and Gauntlet mode and didn't get it so I played Spiral of Doom about 15 times getting on average 10 coins per go and still didn't get the trophy. I've since copied the save and started a new game and still not got it, I was at about 73 coins and got 53 in the last 4 games. I think I'll have to try it on the other PS3 as I had the same problem with the skulls trophy in Magic Ball.

The way I just got the trophy:

After I completed Adventure mode and still didn't have it, I played the first level of Gauntlet mode and collected coins until I hit 70. I quit after 70 and went back to it later. I hit 100 and it didn't unlock. So I decided I'll go until 170 to see if it unlocks. It worked.

So just play the first Gauntlet level and collect coins in one sitting until you hit 100. I didn't have to connect to the Internet or delete my save.
