At least you don't need to finish all the mini games. Plus there are less sub-story events so I have voted a maximum 6/10.

Got the plat a few days after it was release in Japan, not hard at all. MUCH MUCH easier than the japanese Yakuza 3. The 4 amon fight was one of the hardest bits, but it was more frustrating than hard. I voted a 5.

I had problems with baseball in Yakuza 3, but in some days I nevertheless have passed it. In Yakuza 4 I can't pass minor missions because I do not know written Japanese, only the oral.

I'd give it a 4. Nothing is super difficult or particularly hard to figure out.

I'm giving it a 5. A little higher than I initially thought. Main reasons being the difficulty of getting a Seven Pairs Hand in Mahjong and the Ultimate Challenges which are far and beyond harder than 3's.

6/10, they got rid of the most difficult trophy (the minigames one in 3) and the game became only a grind. A pleasant grind thankfully. Loved every minute of it and already looking forward to Yakuza of the End. All in all it took me 96 hours, both savefiles combined + around another 2 hours for ultimate challenge. So lets say 100 hours.

I'm giving it a 7 due to a couple of frustratingly luck-based trophies - most noteably the '7 pairs' one, which more or less requires you to learn how to play Mahjong to even get a chance - and also for one very obscure and easily-missed missable trophy - Fashionista. And, yeah, Amon pulls the difficulty up some too.

Also, to complete Ex. Hard mode, you'll either have to fight desperately throughout the game, or pot a load of extra (hard) work into getting some of the uber-powerful bonus equipment (War God Amulet, Hercules Gauntlet, Golden Gun, ect.) So either way, it won't be easy.
