Demo Impressions

Hi all!!!

When I first saw this game announced I thought... "OMG an other "GTA-like" game, with Vin Diesel and PS2 graphics... BUT then I noticed that it would be done in BARCELONA, Spain, Europe... my city.


There has been a lot of controvery because the city council tried to forbid this game because it "shows a bad image of the city"... But I thought.. What the hell, it's advertising the city!!!

Anyway... I was specting little things from this game but i really wanted to play it, rent it or whatever... SINCE Yesterday that I played the game...

Dispite of the graphics that are a little bit lower than we are used to in newest next-gen games... It looks like a great game... Its not like a GTA, its just like PURSUIT FORCE (PSP), It's a man doing stunts with a car, jumping from one car to an other, shooting thousands of cops in slow motion... a holliwood action-film made a game...


I just played the demo and liked a lot... Obviously it's mostly because it's a good game in Barcelona, but I think it's also a solid game if you don't know anything of the city...

This was my impressions of the game... I think i'm gonna buy it, maybe not at it's release but yes when it's a little cheaper...

I thought the demo was fun, but it might get repetitive after a while. I was disappointed that the demo did not allow free roam or on-foot missions, but the car melee system was solid. I might pick it up later in the year when it gets cheap.

i thought the demo was rubbish, fun for the first 3 minutes, there is no way ill be getting this, things like just cause and gta are far better.
i felt the graphics were terrible they seemed rushed, most buildings look the same.this is going to be a standard game that will be in the bargain bin a month after its release.

I havent heard too much about this game or played the demo. But it sounds like GTA crossed with Pursuit Force and very Hollywood-ish. Am I right? Cause if so it sounds pretty cool.

I kinda liked it mainly because it features my 2nd best favourite city (After Salonika in Macedonia, Greece) Barcelona... The "car-battle" mechanics are just pure fun...

I thought it was a bit silly how you can be about 20 feet from a car and then jump out of your car your driving to jump to the one ahead of you as i said like 20 feet away and hijack it. but i thought it was kinda fun but i would wait till the price goes down some for me.

It's dumb, but at the same time, there's a lot of dumb fun I think to get from this. I at least like how this demo gives you a good idea on what to expect, a story mission and two side missions is pretty good. Unlike the KZ2 demo which was just two areas and that's it.

Of course it's not going to be realistic, since I'm jumping and hijacking cars from 20 feet away. But if games were more realistic, they wouldn't be much fun then, would they? Crashing into other cars is still fun even after playing the demo about five times now. Does it warrant a buy? Not at release. Is it worth a rent? I personally think so. It's good action with plenty of cheesy fun to be had.

Dumb, popcorn fun. Can't wait to play it. Just got the email from Gamefly now, so hopefully I'll be playing it Saturday (but probably Monday, knowing the Post Office).

I must agree that the demo sucked. You were right with the first thing you said about it being a GTA/Mercs2 wannabe with PS2 graphics. Very dissapointed, just wait six months after it's release and it'll be 20$
