Veritas - That's correct. You only need the specified groups of relationships to unlock levels. You can work towards them one at a time, or just hold a ton of general parties to get there quicker, but money's a bit tight early on. I would advance the story with normal party, and then after every stage use all the money on parties. Then when I got the people to the required friendliness level, I'd take them and play a Gaiden on easy or something to get the bond to the next level and unlock the target stage.
Khelthros - Thanks! It looks like I just translated literally from the Japanese, but they were actually Chinese names. I'm terrible with level names so I don't know one from the other by name only... I took out the kanji for all levels in the item list, but I'd like a list of the new WO3 stages for the database post when you or anyone else gets that far too. Also, I think I need the English name for some of the gold skills - particularly burst and convergence.

Hot damn. I made all the changes into English, but I think I messed up somewhere in the Chapter 4 levels, since you don't have the same number of levels as I do for some reason. Can you check on that for me? I am assuming 'The Demise of Orochi X' is the final final level for the true ending, but it could easily be 'World's End' too...

I'll map it out real quick.
1) The Slaying of the Hydra 2) Orochi's End 3) Into the Fire (Normal Ending) 4) Prelude to Apocalypse -> (5) World's End (True Ending) 6)Susano'o's Last Stand -> (7)The Demise of Orochi X (Good Ending) Code:
|-4-5 |-2-|-6-7 1---3 Actually.. Ayane + Agility, Confluence, Brilliance, Wind is awesome by itself. Especially when farming for Crystals. Quick attacks to build up the triple musou gauge so you can do it more often during a battle. Also with her life gain every 100 kills. I tend to rely on her more so than Zhou Tai now.

Thank Akari for the post I got a couple of question if anyone could answer for me I'm now doing the hard mode to get the 22 items what is the most costumes? There have been a few that has 4 while others have 2. Also what would be the best team to do chaos mode. Lastly if you play in online mode if one player dies can you revive them? or is it game over?

I don't know who has the most costumes, however. Chaos mode...is really who you're good with. Once you get Burst/Brilliance/Wind +10, it's pretty much go time. Some like overpowered characters (Orochi, for instance) but I did them with Zhou Tai and Ayane. It's good to have at least 2 so if one takes damage, you can switch them out. It's also a good idea to use the Chimera Shell (defense item) to up your defense in Chaos. With Ayane, I used Agility +10, Wind +10, Brilliance, Burst, and Confluence. That way the Triple Musou bar recharges incredibly fast, so I can use it whenever I need it. In Online, if one dies it's gameover. It's just like all the other Dynasty Warrior games. No reviving. =\
