If you are going to add an entry, please try to do the following to make things more consistent:

• Only capitalize the first word in an entry's title.
• Italicize game names.
• Remove extra blank-lines.
• The example slot is to give an actual example instead of using the word in a sentence.
  

If you don't, I will try to do those things myself.

PS: The dates stand for 'last update'.

Boosting: When a player agrees with another player lose against him/her in order to unlock certain trophies (usually online trophies) that require winning without actually winning fairly
Some people always boost because they think that online trophies are 'silly', while others only resort to boosting if the online content of a game is very bad or lag-infested. There are stuck boosting threads for online trophies that can be boosted in their respective games' forums.

Example: A player agreeing with another player to help him/her rank up all of the characters in Super Street Fighter IV to the C rank in order to get the From C to Shining C trophy

Bronze trophy: A bronze trophy is usually rewarded for accomplishing easy tasks in a game. However, there are exceptions, like "Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic" in GTA IV. A bronze trophy is the lowest on the scale of trophies & rewards the least amount of points to your trophy level.

Example:
- I earned the "Interactive Drama" trophy in Heavy Rain after completing the second chapter. Achieving this is easy so a Bronze Trophy is correctly rewarded.

Cheat codes: A key that unlocks a certain aspect in the game. Many can disable trophies (like Wolverine), while others can't disable trophies (like SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection).

Example: The easy way to do the Hardly a Hero trophy on SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is pressing the follow combination: 3, 12, 17, 2, 2, 10, 2, 7, 7, 11

Collectible trophies: Any trophy that requires a player to collect a certain amount of an item to achieve the trophy.

Example: Rockhound, a trophy from inFamous, requires a player to collect 350 blast shards.

Controller reassignment: Refers to when a multi-player trophy can be achieved by a single player by pressing the PS button and reassigning the controller to player 2.

Example: For the Friendship trophy in flOw, you only need one controller and can change the controller from player 1 to 2, 3, and 4.

D4D (download for download): This is referring to downloading each others creations in Modnation Racers.

Example: Just saying "D4D" means i'll download your's if you download mine. Its to try and achieve the 250,000 create xp.

DLC (downloadable content): Bought on PSN Store and may or may not have trophies associated with it. If it does have trophies, it is not required to achieve the platinum.

Example: I have the Dark Void platinum trophy, but I haven't bought any DLC from the PSN Store.

Glitched trophies: Trophies that do not always unlock even though their requirements are met

Some developers tend to release a patch to fix similar trophies, while others don't.Sometimes, there are workarounds for these trophies in their respective trophy guides. For example, you might need to keep trying or turn your PS3 on and off. There are occasional exceptions in which the trophy can be glitched for everyone indefinitely.
Example: The Boss Batch 3 trophy in God of War II does not always unlock even when the mentioned bosses are actually defeated.

Gold trophy: A gold trophy is usually rewarded for accomplishing difficult tasks in a game. A gold trophy is the second highest on the scale of trophies & rewards the second most amount of points to your trophy level.

Example: I earned the "Elite Campaign Legend" trophy in WipEout HD after earning a gold medal in every cell on Elite difficulty. Achieving this is hard so a Gold Trophy is correctly rewarded.

Grinding: Repeatedly redoing a certain thing in a game in order to unlock a trophy
Example: The infamous N.O.O.S.E grind in Grand Theft Auto IV where the player constantly replays the online N.O.O.S.E. co-op mission in order to level up quickly and reach the highest rank in multiplayer for the Wanted trophy

H4H (heart for heart): A term used when talking about hearting someone or someone's level in LittleBigPlanet and expecting a heart in return. There is a thread specifically for this.
Example: I want the Create trophy so I will sign up for the H4H thread.

Hacking: Manipulating the game-save data for a certain game on a computer in order to unlock trophies without actually playing and earning them
It is a mistake made by the developers when creating the trophy pack. It is also forbidden to be discussed on PS3T.org and is looked-down upon because it does not involve the player actually earning the trophy.
Example: Unlocking the Special Ops trophies in Modern Warfare 2 by manipulating the game-save data

Hidden trophies: A trophy that neither the trophy value or description can be seen until obtained.
Example: Many of the hidden trophies in God of War III are story-based trophies and them being hidden trophies help to avoid spoilers.

L4L (level for level): A term used when talking about playing someones level in LittleBigPlanet 2 and expecting a play in return. There is a thread specifically for this.
Example: I want the 50 Unique Plays trophy so I will sign up for the L4L thread.

Missable trophies: Trophies that can be missed while playing through a game and that can only be obtained if the player decides to play back to where those trophies available again
Most missable trophies include collectibles.
Example: The Key to Success trophy in God of War, which involves finding the two Muse Keys before the single-player story ends

Multi-player trophies: Any trophy that requires 2 or more players to complete.
Example: Rock Band 2's Overdrive Overdose requires 4 players to achieve an 8x multiplier.

Online trophies: Any trophy that has to be achieved while connected online.
Example: LittleBigPlanet's Create and Share trophies both must be obtained online.

Offline trophies: A trophy that you can get when you're not connected or when you don't have an account
Example: My brother got Bioshock's platinum even though he doesn't have an account since all the trophies are offline trophies.

Peripherals: Any outside equipment other than a regular controller needed to platinum a game.
Example: Rock Band 2 requires a guitar, drum, and mic controller for the platinum.

Platinum difficulty rating: The average difficulty of the platinum out of 10. It may vary depending on skill level.
Example: Terminator Salvation is rated 1 or 2, but Fight Night Round 4 is rated 9 or 10

Platinum trophy: A platinum trophy is rewarded for earning all the base trophies in a game. DLC trophies are not needed for the platinum (excluding The Eye Of Judgment). Then some are actually impossible, like FIFA 09. Most PSN Games don't have a platinum trophy, but there are exceptions. The same applies for retail games. A platinum trophy is the highest on the scale of trophies & rewards the most amount of points to your trophy level.
Examples:
- I earned the WWE: Legends Of WrestleMania platinum trophy after earning every other trophy in the game.
- Some platinum trophies are easy, like Hannah Montana The Movie. While others are hard, like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Silver trophy: A silver trophy is rewarded for accomplishing a mildly difficult task in a game. A silver trophy is second from bottom on the scale of trophies & rewards the second least amount of points to your trophy level.
Example:
- I earned the "Steel Fist Expert" Trophy in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves after defeating 10 enemies in a row with a single punch, after softening them up with gunfire. Achieving this is mildly difficult so a Silver Trophy is correctly rewarded.

Spoilers: Things that reveal certain future-events in a game.
Most trophy guides on PS3T.org include spoiler tags to show that certain trophy descriptions or methods might include spoilers and ruin the story for certain player
Example: The story-related trophies in God of War III are hidden trophies because they include spoilers.

Stackable games: Games that have several trophy-packs with their different region-versions
Most players play stackable games to increase their platinum-trophy count without having to play something new and just repeating what they did before
Example: The USA version of Demon's Souls has one trophy-pack and its Chinese version has another trophy pack.

Stackable trophies: Usually pertaining to difficulty (easy, medium, hard, etc) trophies; when multiple trophies can be unlocked if the trophy with the hardest requirements is unlocked.
Example: In Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, beating the game on hard unlocks the trophies for beating the game on hard, medium, and easy.

Story based trophies: A set of trophies that will be achieved by completing the story line of a game (unmissable).
Example: Terminator Salvation trophy set contains all story based trophies.

Sync to server: This will send all your newly earned trophies to a secure server. Sony has not allowed automatic syncing, so it is critical that you manually sync to server whenever you earn a tough trophy or multiple trophies. Sync to Server is located on the XMB by hitting triangle on the trophies section in the Games menu or by just accessing your profile in the Friends menu.
Example: You should sync to server after every gaming session you have.

Example: It take less then 10 hours to platinum Terminator Salvation, but 100+ hours to platinum Dragon Age Origins.

Trophy: A trophy is a virtual reward that you can earn on the PlayStation 3. Bronze trophies are usually rewarded for completing easy tasks all the way up to the platinum which is rewarded for earning all of the game's base trophies.
Examples:
- I earned the "First Treasure" trophy in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for finding 1 treasure.
- Trophies wildly range in difficulty, from trophies like "It's Hazard Time!" in Eat Lead: The Return Of Matt Hazard to "XXL" in Fight Night Round 4.

Trophy collection: Your trophy collection is located under the games section in the PlayStation 3 XMB. It shows you all of your earned trophies & the trophies you have yet to earn in the games you've played. You'll see the trophy's image. title, description & date & time earned.
Example: When I unlocked "Beat Zico" in WipEout HD I checked my trophy collection to see the trophy tile & date & time earned.

Trophy card: A trophy card is a card that displays your trophies & trophy level. The most popular trophy card is from ps3rophycard.com but you can get a lot of different trophy cards around the internet.

Example: PS3T.org includes a sticked trophy-guide on most, if not all, game pages to help both guests and members alike.

Trophy level: Your trophy level is calculated by the amount of trophies you've earned. Silver trophies are worth more to your level than bronze, gold trophies are worth more to your level than silver & platinum trophies are worth more to your level than gold. The higher your level, the harder it is to level up. Your trophy level is found under your PlayStation Network ID.
Example: After earning my second platinum I moved up from Level 6 to 7.

Unachievable trophies: Trophies that are completely impossible to be achieved mainly because of glitches and/or closed online-servers
A game that includes unachievable trophies (exluding DLC trophies) will ultimately have an unachievable platinum-trophy.
Example: There are 11 unachievable trophies for The Lord of the Rings: Conquest because the servers closed in March 2010.

XMB: Stands for Xross Media Bar and is the PS3's system menu. The XMB becomes visible in-game by pressing the PS button and newer games will also pause your game when you press the PS button. The XMB stores your trophies under Games > Trophy Collection.
Example: Access your trophies and sync to server using the XMB.

Interesting idea. But you may want to remove the numbers and place the segments in alphabetical order. It is how 'dictionaries' are ordered and will help if the definitions begin to pile up.

I think this is a good idea as well. Not until recently did I know what farming meant as well as stacking trophies. Could help some of the newbs.

[Edit] Just saw farming is not in there. I suggest adding that in there as that is a common term on the site.

Brilliant idea for a thread. Could I suggest 'Glitched Trophies'. When a trophy doesn't appear because of a glitch in the game or a trophy is earned without the player doing anything to earn it.
