That is really impressive for a first time effort. You should be really pleased with that signature! I've got some tips for you. Try adding a thin 1px border around the outside of the signature. It gives the whole design a bit of a premium finish in my opinion. Also try and experiment with different fonts, rather than just the standard PC fonts, for instance Google the font for a particular game which matches your render e.g Uncharted 3 Font and write your text in that design. The black/gray background is very good for a first stab at the signature, but try matching the colours together with the render. Notice how your character is a more of a brown/gold colour in comparison to the gray. I know this might be a bit full on considering you are just a novice at this, but follow my tips and you won't go far wrong. Good luck.

If you look up some tutorials, you could be beast! That's really good, but you could try using colour overlays/burns to tint it a nice warm orange, or a cold blue etc. Also try "Blend" him into the sig by using the soft eraser tool on his waist area.
Good work
