Pogs presents: Battlefield 3: Signature tut ![]() Scanline brushes Smoke brushes Render -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Start off with a blank canvas of any size you want (i chose 400x150) ![]() 2. Place your render on the image. You can resize it to what ever you want, but make sure it is large enough to fill the whole of the image as we'll need it for the next step. ![]() 3. Choose Filter>Blur>motion Blur and blur it at a rate of 256 and an angle of 283. 4. Go to: Layer>new from visible. This will contain all of the visible image in your sig into one layer. ![]() 5. Using the brush pack listed above, you can make a nice "lined" affect on your image. To do this, go to your brushes menu, select whichever brush you like from that pack, (I chose a diagonal one) and then "brush" over your image continiously. to do this, Hold Shift and CTRL at the same time. This will alow you to brush over an area continioulsy. brush over your image with an opacity of about 1.50-2.00. 6. Go to Filters>Decor>Add Border. As for size, make it 1x1 and the colour of your choice, but I find that black looks best. ![]() 7. Next, put your render in the image. Size it down to around the height of 308x500 and remove the Renderer's Mark. Now, make sure you place the render UNDERNEATH the border layer. To do this, open your "layers menu" (ctrl+L). Drag the render Beneath it. ![]() 8.To make sure the Render is placed in the middle use the "alingment tool", which looks like a square with arrows pointing away from it. ![]() 9.Duplicate your render, and place it underneath the original. using the smudge tool, smudge it out slightly, leaving a smokey affect. ![]() 10. Create a new layer. Put whatever text you want on it, change its size, font etc. Then, select Layers>transparency>alpha to selection. After this, go to Select>Grow and grow by 1. Then, go to Edit>fill with BG colour/FG colour, But make sure one is the prefered colour of your choice (I chose black). ![]() 11. Now re-type the same again on a new layer. again, Layers>transparency>Alpha to selection. Next, use the "blend" (or gradient) tool. Select one that you like, such as rounded edge and drag it up over the text with the "walking ants". it should produce a nice gradient. Keep trying untill you find one that you like. ![]() 12. Save your file as .png (or .xcf if you wish to keep the layers) Feedback welcome. Constructive criticism only. ©Pogs2k10 2011. Only to be used on PS3T.org. You should use this tutorial for the text:
*Note: I used this on a BF3 signature I was doing for myself a while back and it turned out great. I just never used it is all.
