What counts towards online points?

What counts toward online points? So far I've found:
-ranked points against all AI DON'T count - there goes 600pts
-leaving the game before the target score is reached doesn't count - there goes 840pts
-game hanging because UNO server screws up = point loss (there goes another 350 pts).

So in total I got 400 pts from today's work, instead of 2000+

Any other tips of stuff to avoid? I'm thinking its a complete waste of time to get any points legit and just boost the fucker.

EDIT:
-points that pre-existed you joining the game don't count (not surprising, but worth noting)
