Default Chapter 19 - The Mutants

Ok so the game suddenly has turned into Alone in The Dark: Inferno
These wierd creatures are coming from every where, I've been into 3 different rooms and they keep coming in waves of 3!

Whats the best way to kill them - they dont hold still long enough for a head shot and cover aint no good and i'm hemorrhaging ammo?

I finished the game earlier today, and I can honestly say that the monsters are one of the easiest parts of the game. Also, one of the shortest. They've basically got one section (generator room, projector room and the corridors between) and then you're done, so don't worry. Seriously, just relax.

Now here's the secret: Use a shotgun or the machine guns that are strewn through the areas where the monsters are and run and gun. It's that simple. The game will mostly auto-aim for you, so long as you keep them on-screen. For shotguns, simply run up to them and blast.

Before you know it, the game will be over and you'll wonder what the problem was. I actually stopped playing the game originally, when I read about 'zombies'... but I'm so glad I ignored my fears, because they're not scary at all.

Good luck!

Crushing isn't that much harder than hard. I found the difference between normal and hard much bigger, im sure you'll be able to conquer it

It was a bit startling for me too, mainly because you have to change your play style.

Stick to the Moss or SPAS shotguns, and run-and-gun while running circles around them. Don't get too close or else they'll jump on you.

I really can't decide if the whole mutant thing is cracking good fun or utterly, utterly stupid.

There are lot of things about this game that I really don't like. For instance, why is there a reward for 'stealthy kills' when there is literally no stealth function in the game? There's no sneaking . . . you can't even crouch for christ's sake.

I really hope Uncharted 2 is as good as everyone says.

I had NO clue that there would be "zombies" or whatever they're called and it literally scared the "you know what" out of me, but I overcame very quickly and then wiped 'em out by keeping my back to the walls and run and gunning it. Was over in no time and now that I look back on it, won't be a problem for my next two playthroughs.

The Spanish Zombies part is ridiculously easy to get through once you know how to do it. I finished the game on Crushing last night (and got Platinum) of all the times I've completed the game so far, this last time was the easiest on this particular section. In the generator room, don't stop to kill the monsters, just gun them down as they approach you. Run to the first room (a beast will pop up from under the platform where the switch is), climb up and flip the switch, when you get down, three more will come running from the corner, again, just gun them down and run to the second door (straight ahead as you run out of the one you're in) and repeat the process.

AFAIK, the monsters will never stop appearing unless you flip both switches, so there's no point in stopping just to kill them, as more will come attacking.
