I just started Uncharted too and I feel its a really great game.
Devil May Cry seems to be better when you play it from 1 - 4 in sequential order too.

I have only played Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and just finished it last week. I thought the game was fantastic. It reminded me of a Tomb Raider but with more shooting. I'm very much looking forward to playing the other two! I would assume the games progressively get more and more exciting and fun to play, but I will never hate on the first one as it is a great game.

For Devil May Cry the order of quality goes as such: 3 > 1 > 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>> 2

The placement of 1 and 4 is arguable, but 3 is by far the best and 2 is just complete garbage.

Personally, I plaid them in order, but I recently put the first one back in and still think it holds up. It's a great series.

I'm not trying to call anyone out, to each their own I've heard of individuals who'll hold off on watching a TV season so that when they get it on disc they can watch the commentaries first, but to play a series of anything out of conceptual order seems ass-backward to me. Even developers who'll release three games in a series and call the third a prequel to the second should probably be enjoyed, and might be enjoyed best, in order of release as opposed to conception. Just a thought, and again I'm not trying to say there is any one way to enjoy a series.

While I find parts 2 and 3 to be more epic then the first one, Uncharted 1 definitely is what establishes the heart and soul of this series. I don't know what it is exactly but the isolated setting on that island somehow is the best place to make you familiar with this cool guy called Nathan Drake. Buka Pintu!

I am just doing 1 on crushing and enjoying it as much as 2 and 3 which I completed before playing the 1st one. Visuals not as good but still one of my favourite games.

i honestly never would of guessed that the games got better as the series went on.

of course if you save U1 for last the game isnt going to feel as good as U2 or U3 does playing.. throwing nades on U1 sucks. throwing them on U2 is a million times better and so on.
