Default Patch 1.09 - The Details

There will in essence be two patches (both approved roughly at the same time) and since they are cumulative, we will go straight to 1.09. Here are the details in video format.


Patch 1.08:
Available: April 9, 2012
Multiplayer
Gameplay
  • Cloaked level 3 booster better masks the player’s sounds when equipped
  • Increased default Tau Sniper ammo total to 18
  • Fixed certain regions on Ruins and Facility maps where a thrown Plunder or Treasure Hunter idol would not respawn
  • Crushing difficulty on Plaza and Village for Shade Survival is now locked until properly unlocked via gameplay
  • Players can no longer infinitely hold a high-five pose to avoid being grabbed by a Choker in Co-Op modes
Technical
  • Players are now able to vote on the difficulty of Co-Op matches no matter where they are on the menu when the voting period begins
  • Players can no longer join the party of a player that is viewing a Cinema file
User Interface
  • DLC Toggle added to the Options menu
DLC TOGGLE NOTE: The DLC toggle places players into two distinct pools: players searching for DLC and players who are searching for default maps. When the switch is toggled “On” in order for you to be pooled in the DLC group you’ll have to make sure you have downloaded the latest DLC maps. All players with the latest DLC maps will be pooled into the DLC group once the toggle is in the “On” switch. If you want to play the default maps and occasionally get DLC maps leave the toggle in the off position.



Patch 1.09:
Available: April 9, 2012
Multiplayer
Gameplay
  • G-MAL stopping power reduced by 50%
  • Shield’s health increased by 18%
  • Auto aim while jumping reduced on double-barrel shotguns
  • Bullet spread for AK-47 tightened by ~10%
General
  • All cinema files captured pre patch 1.09 are no longer accessible
Server
  • Updated the server-side to allow for live updates to weapon functionality
CINEMA FILES NOTE: All cinema files created pre-patch 1.09 will no longer be available.


The Lab will also return soon. For those that don't know, it's a special play list with experimental modes. First out will be T-Bolt plus Mag 5 only.

I'm mostly happy to see the DLC toggle being added. Also happy to see the high 5 thing being rectified. First thing I will check when the patch(es) go live on Monday is to see what maps are available in Co-op Arena.

Excellent update. glad to see that the GMAL is getting a nerf, though i think 50% may be a bit too much

Fucking awesome, about time they started fixing the Tau Sniper, it was the worst gun in the entire multiplayer game excluding co-op.

Damn. Pesico, you beat me to it.
Anyways, that was quick.
Now my thoughts.
Gmal stopping power : Meh, whatever. I don't really care much.
Shield more stronger : This is nice. I use the Shield quite often.
AK47 more accurate : This Is AWESOME ! I use this gun more then the M9, so Its just better for me
DLC Toggle : Yea, awesome feature again.

Oh, you didn't mention the Lab thing in your post
So Excited !

Any word on fixing the beyond terrible co-op setting where you have to restart from checkpoint when a player leaves?

Don't see why Naughty dog is trying to fix things that don't cause any problmes at all and not fixing the real issues like:
  • party members being split up in matchmaking and being placed on the other team
  • co-op glitch at the fort me and Pesico had where you have to grab the two idols and place them to open the first door gaining access to the tower area and two more idols that glitched and one idol would not go on the marker
  • party members being left in matchmaking and others getting into games (yes this is still happening)

These are really problems that should have fixed months ago but instead they do things like fix people from being able to choose crushing on a co-op arena map if they choose that let them don't see any point to stop that especially if they know how to play crushing and have done so many times already. The chokers not being able to grab you that just silly thing to *cough* "fix". One thing I would tell my co-op partners to do if everyone else was dead and waiting to respawn was to hold taunt so they wouldn't get grabbed.

Really disappointed in the cinema files pre patch no longer available once you install it.

Other then that everything else is ok.
