The way the story was going, it didn't surprise me that the last fight was like that. I couldn't imagine Drake fighting Marlowe. The improvements and emphasis on hand to hand combat pretty much explains the final fight too.

Personally, I liked the ending. I think its likely that Drake and Elena are together for good and the final fight was different to the other two. Hopefully the next game will have a final fight that's slightly different too.

I agree though that Lazarevic is the most villainous villain yet. With him I got the sense that he was a full on bastard (Jeff!) and had to be stopped. Marlowe was a bit of a bitch, but nothing too diabolical.

I agree about Marlowe though, she needed some more time and maybe background. Her ending was fitting though. Although Drake should have left her and left with some sort of witty one liner James Bond style.
How about...
You've sank pretty 'Lowe', Marlowe

Quality lol. I can imagine him saying that too.

How about: I hope you dont get sand in your shoes!

Yeah lame, cannot top yours. :P

Lazarevic was more of a tyrant type, kill first ask questions later kind of guy while Marlowe was more of a cunning and devious villain.

No Im glad he tried to save her. Id like to think of Drake as a decent guy and it wouldnt have been right for him to just let her die, regardless of what she had done. It was a heroic moment for him and although she died any way, at least he tried

Yeah, honestly uncharted 2 was probably a better ending.... But I think I liked this one better over all

I always thought Nate wanders off to the other side of the city losing Elena and Sully... Player needs to control him a pretty long time during the wiggly-camera-Talbot-whispers-in-his-ear cutscene. After all he was all about "don't touch me!!"

BTW, after finishing the game 3rd time I gotta say that it has just the right "flow" in the story, action, laid-back exploring and shooting. After 2 playthroughs you get through the game almost unscratched and see the whole picture without getting stuck or leaving to think about some puzzle too long.

My only major complain may come from always the same "Nate is after treasure and so are the bad guys, Nate finds some hidden clue and bad guys come running and steal the clue from him" plot. It repeats in every 3 games.

Uncharted 4 needs to have some different villain setting than a evil guy/lady after power through supernatural means.

I actually agree with this. As a matter of fact, I was slightly disappointed when he failed. I really can't imagine how Marlowe would have reacted if she had been saved, something I'm quite curious about. Either way, Nate simply doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would just let her die. I knew he was gonna try to help her the moment Talbot said that.

The thing is;

This makes all the difference. I'm sure if it had been Lazarevic instead of Marlowe, Nate wouldn't even have looked back. But Marlowe... thinking back to the beginning of the game, she actually seemed quite upset when Charlie "killed" Nate and Sully (maybe not quite because she cared, but rather because of the unwanted mess, but I'd like to think it's a bit of both).

For some reason she never properly finishes the job either whenever she has captured/cornered someone; Nate? Let the pirates deal with him. Sully? Keep him captive (I guess they had to make sure he didn't lie to them, though). Charlie? Leave him on a burning tower when she could just have had him shot right there and then.

She's an odd one, but sadly Marlowe's lack of character development leaves us kinda guessing just how evil she really is.

All right, so I just beat the game and apparently the grand scheme of the big bads was to what, spike London's water supply with a giant urn filled with hallucinogens? Wouldn't they have been better served just buying a shit-ton of mushrooms? I dunno.

Exactly. Every time I walk into a secret area I expect the enemies to be pointing a gun at my face. Seriously, no one is surprised by the characters being ambushed and the characters shouldn't either. Nate does the grunt work and villains just follow him and steal the work. Its so common now. Just like "The ladder is stuck, I'll send it down for you". Nate is in a ridiculous ambush is common as well.

The premise of the story was that people can be controlled by fear, and the hallucinogens made that possible. The previous two villains wanted personal wealth/immortality, this was all about controlling people and the world.
