Reviewing Game - UFC
Story: Not much story, in Career mode you simply create your own fighter, customize it (location, age, etc) and fight it out in a 7 year UFC competition under your character's weight class. Although the game creates fantasy fight-cards and outcomes in future UFCs. Nothing really important here. Although what sticks true is that the real fighters in the games are very close to their real counterparts in real life, and commentators speaks the truth. There are some classic fights you can play which were significant in the history of UFC. Compared to other fighting games such as Tekken or Soul Calibur (where each character had a story of some sort) UFC is like a blank book. Gameplay: Gameplay is fun generally and you can play a wide variety of different styles. There are 3 striking styles and 3 grappling styles and you can put them into different combinations such as Muay Thai + BJJ or Muay Thai + Judo etc. The character growth in career mode is done pretty nicely. The AI is quite frustrating though, but overall gameplay flows quite nicely. Controls: The controls are simple and very well thought out. Left analog to move, face buttons for punch/kicks, shoulder buttons for strike level modifier and blocking etc. The learning curve may be deep but once you get the hang of it the game becomes a whole lot more fun. To me the controls are perfect. Graphics: Character graphics are beautiful, not final-fantasy level, but characters really look a lot like their real-life counterparts. Sweat and muscle movement is beautiful. The blood and cuts simulation is also great. Whats bad is the user interface within the game is very simple, nothing fancy but if u like it simple then thats fine. The audience around the octagon looks horrible though and is always the same. Sound: Sounds are good but extremely repetitive. So repetitive that it will start screwing your mind :P. Wow Factor: The KNOCKOUTS ! Thats about it for me really. Replay Value: Theres a good amount of replay value as there are 5 different weight classes and you will want to go through each of them at least once and you would wanna try every different combination of striking and grappling skills. There is also the exhibition mode which sports a whole lot of real unique UFC fighters that you would wanna have a go with each and every one of them. Multiplayer Experience: N/A - My experience is laggy and unable to find many games, maybe its because of my location and timezone, but seeing the fun that other players are having, I think its pretty decent. Rent Or Buy This Game? If you are a MMA fan, definitely buy it. If you're not but you're into fighting games, definitely buy it ! Because it will give you many many many hours of fun. Your Personal Verdict & Your Final Rating: My criticism is that the AI is extremely frustrating and unreal / the sound is too repetitive / loading time between screens takes a little too long. The pros is that the game is great for multiplayer online and offline, you will have a lot of fun, sticks true to MMA fans, and definitely worth a buy. Story: NA Gameplay: 8/10 Controls: 10/10 Graphics: 7/10 Sound: 6/10 Wow factor: 6/10 Replay value: 10/10 Multiplayer: NA Total: 8/10. **This is my first review ever O_o I know its bad ![]() **I hate the AI, its too frustrating for me, but I love the game. |

Story: The story is pretty weak, as nothing much happens or is fleshed out, you don't even age. 4/10
Gameplay: The gameplay is really solid, there are some issues if you choose to try to fight Muay Thai with the clinch but otherwise the characters are very responsive and reasonably realistic in how they fight and the movements that they do. 8/10 Controls: The controls take a little getting used to as the ground game has a bit of a learning curve but I think they are about as good as can be expected for a sport that is so in depth. 9/10 Graphics: The graphics are quite fantastic for the most part, if you are familiar with the UFC you can easily tell who each character is just by looking at them. However the crowd graphics kind of suck. 8/10 Sound: The sound is fine but really repetitive. The fight calls repeat like crazy and there are only I think 4 songs on the soundtrack. 6/10 Wow Factor: I didn't really think there was much in the way of a WOW factor but others would probably disagree. 2/10 Replay Value: I think that replay is high, with 5 different weight classes to fight through in career mode and the bonus of a Classic Fights mode in addition to multiplayer. 8/10 Multiplayer Experience: I haven't gotten into the multiplayer yet but it seems like it is reasonably deep. Rent Or Buy This Game? If you like MMA then this game is a buy! Your Personal Verdict & Your Final Rating: While there are some missteps this game is still the premier (only) MMA game going and so if you are a fan of the sport it is a definite buy. 8/10

Story: 8/10 I give it this because your career is great though the calendar can sometimes be confusing when going from one week to another. I would have liked it more if you could do 2 things in one week like train half strength and half speed or half cardio and rest the second half. And the photoshoots and autograph signing shouldnt take a full week.
Gameplay: 9/10 This game has AMAZING gameplay. Its so realistic when you get a knockout you feel really good about yourself and your skills. It really keeps you interested in the game when new challenges come up or you fight a new style of guy and you need to conform to his style. Controls: 9/10 Theres a learning curve for sure but once you get used to them and you can get out of ground grapples well you will be great. The controls are easy to pickup and in no time you will be knocking people out left and right. Graphics: 9/10 The graphics are pretty damn amazing. The fighter looks real and when they perform moves there is no bugs or glitches in it. It really looks amazing. The only reason it didnt get a 10 is because the blood could be a little better. Sound: 7/10 The sound is great during fights from the crowd to the commentary telling you about your fighter or the opposing fighter. It does get reppetitive though what the announcers say i mean i think theyve told me that Frank Mir won his fight against Brock Lesnar by submission at least 30 times. The music is good but they need more they dont have many songs and you find yourself listening to the same song even if they're good songs its still kinda annoying. Wow Factor: 8/10 I didnt know what to think when i bought this game i was thinking it would be similar to fight night but with MMA with the controls and graphics and all but i was wrong. The story was better than expected and the graphics were also better than expected. Replay Value: 9/10 Its really fun to make new fighters and start a career with them and im going to find myself keep coming back to this game. Multiplayer Experience: 6/10 This is where this game pisses me off. There are alot of online exploits from the quitters to the laggers to the mounters. After you win a fight it doesnt automatically save there is a 10-15 second window which leaves plenty of time for someone to quit out of the fight. There are also laggers that just seem to freakin teleport across the ring. This is the one that pisses me off the most though the mounters. People will take you down and get you into full mount right off the bat and if they get you into that you mine as well just stop playing. There is a little fraction of a second to get out of the full mount before he starts just to throw down the hammers on you and KO you. This has the potential to be the best online fighter ever, no joke, if they just fix some lag, give an automatic victory to people who get quit on and make it easier to get out of the full mount. Rent Or Buy This Game? I bought it and if your an MMA fan you should buy it. Im not even that into MMA but i am now ![]() Your Personal Verdict & Your Final Rating: 8/10 Amazing game, mediocre online hopefully they fix the online problems in a patch or something.

Story: Not a Story mode in the traditional sense. You don't watch cutscenes and what not. It's a career mode that's pretty basic. Fight, rest, train, rest, Fight. However, it's a fighting game and the story isn't where UFC shines brightest.
Gameplay: The gameplay is where UFC gets all of it's acclaim. Firstly, there are no glitches or bugs that I've some across. The game is a very solid fighting game. It excells because there are many different fighting styles to employ. It's not just punch and kick. You have so many options and so many manuvers at your disposal it's impossible to say the gameplay is less than perfect. Controls: Through the story mode or the tutorial the controls are easy to learn and even easier to pull off yourself. Graphics: The graphics are amazing. This is the only game where after beating your opponents face in for three minutes, you can clearly see the perfect mix of blood and sweat on your opponents face before you go in for the knockout blow. It's that kind of realism that absorbs you into the game. Sound: The sounds okay. I've never been a big fan of commentary in video games because it's always repetitive. ALWAYS. Besides commentary the crowd noises are okay and in game music is okay at best. Wow Factor: It was the first MMA game I played and I was like this guy ---> when I got my first KO on Brock Lesnar with my created character. It was so cool because he came at me and... well you get the point, it's a good game.Replay Value: The replay value is high because there are so many fighters to play with not to mention creating your own characters and whooping your opponents. Multiplayer Experience: Online sucks because every noob that you play against will pick Brock Lesnar and try to throw 50 punches. When his stamina is done and you make em tap they'll quit. It can be very frustrating. Rent Or Buy This Game? This is a buy only. The game is good enough to be kept and the can't be attained in the week long rent period.Your Personal Verdict & Your Final Rating: I'd say 9 of 10 game overall. The only thing keeping it from being a 10 is the online. However dont' let that deter you from picking up this game. Get some friends over and make em tap out or Knock em out and wthat is some of the most fun you'll have. They'll be all- ![]() Then they'll get all- ![]() While you're all-
