Frame rate slowing down! :(

Is anyone elses frame rate slowing down? I'm in New Ashos and after playing it for a little while, the game starts to slow down, maybe 40 frames per min. and dropping. I reloaded at an earlier save, but each time it starts to gradually slow down. Does this end after I'm done Chapter 2?? It's really annoying, to the point where I can't play. Please help!

yeah the longer this game is on the worse the framerate gets. i even get black boxes on everything before the graphics load in, kind thinking it might break my ps3.

my frame rate has always been quite jittery when playing..... its not been great at all.

Well that's great. I guess I've got to race through he game and not enjoy it. What a rip off. Thanks for letting me know it's not just my game.

I've been playing this game since Friday and, after reading some mixed reviews, i decided i'd just give it a shot and make my own mind up about it.

I haven't really noticed any slow frame rates as of yet and i'm just starting chapter two. I have had the odd loading time here and there but it literally only lasted about 2 seconds.

I've also read about people complaining about the blurryness when you rotate the camera, doesn't really seem all that bad, not enough to put me off anyway, just reduced the camera sensitivity a little. As for the cheesy voice actors, yeah they do kinda suck but again it's not really all that bad, i've heard worse on games.

But like i said, i'm only just starting chapter two so maybe i have yet to get to any serious problems with the game so i will let you know as soon as i do.

I've put in about 50 hrs or so, I'll have to check. But it slowly gets worse, so I don't even know when it started. I too was getting the black squares when the game would load up. I also found sometimes the game play screen would come on but I couldn't move for 20 - 30 seconds. I've put the game down now for awhile and am hoping to hear of a promising fix. I really don't want to start all over.

I too experienced this once I got to new ashos.

I played pretty relentlessly and got there in 20hrs after completing literally everything from the first island.

The game was fine until I started gathering quests in New Ashos, when I entered the library my frame rate dropped really low and all my actions were laggy. However my menus maintained their integrity as did speech encounters (cutscenes)

I've looked around on the google and have not been able to find anything as far as a solution goes, most people started experiencing this shortly upon arrival @ New Ashos; others didn't experience it until after New Ashos (but it seems that they ran threw the game).

One guy who was playing on his PC said that he changed his firewall ports and it worked fine, but I dunno. I've personally tried reducing the gamma and motion blur without any results. XBOX 360 users kept saying that half had no problems while others where like install it on your hard drive, well PS3 makes you do that from the get go so it's not really a solution for us.

Please release a patch so that your cache data stops getting backed up in game and loading down the processor, I'm getting motion sick and extremely frustrated this was gonna be an easy plat but now I just can't continue.

So these are the things I've tried in-game, that didn't work:

_Entering different areas of the map near New Ashos
_Went back to Hammandor
_Went back to the Orc Hideout (North East Island, where you start)
_Let it sit w/o pause. (I let it run for about 30 minutes without touching the controller)
_Give it time, I played it for about 30 minutes with the nauseatingly slow fps
_Completing New Ashos Missions ( I'm going to try to finish a couple of the missions I picked up hoping that they are the cause).
_Completely emptied out my inventory except for equipped items.

I assume that it has to be something in the game because that is what is causing the lag. Everything else is fine, the game menu, the XMB, the teleport menu, the mission menu, the item selection pause (R3), the inventory screens, the conversations. It's really starting to me off because I am so close to completing all 4 guild quest trophies.

if anyone has managed to find a resolution...

So I've finished 6 missions since this lag started, 2 of which I just needed to turn in. I completed most of the quests I received once it had started but nothing has changed, it is still laggy and I've been playing like that for almost 2 hrs now. I refuse to play this anymore until the problem has been fixed.

I feel exactly the same. I've been waiting for several months for any glimmer of hope. I absolutely go nuts playing the game the way it is now. Thanks for all the input no1leftb3hind. Hopefully a fix will get posted. How about a full refund?!
