This is my first guide, so be gentle! =)

Note: Similar to the first game, Trine 2 will notify you (and other players, where applicable) in-game with a popup that you have earned a trophy before your PS3 dings. These notifications are almost immediate. If you don't see one right after you think you complete a trophy, you didn't get it.

Also note that this game is region locked. North American players can only play with other North American players, and so on. You will not be able to co-op with a player from another region.

WARNING: If you have an Asian PS3, there is currently a localization bug that prevents you from spending any skill points in Trine 2. On US systems, confirm is :cross: and back is :circle:. On Asian systems, the button assignments are reversed. If you have this issue, the only way to get these trophies is to play co-op with someone who has a PS3 from NA or EU and have them assign the skill points for you. Thanks to yuriSF for pointing this out.

Roadmap

1. Play through the game.

You can play the game using any combat difficulty setting. If you are playing in co-op, the character mode (Classic or Unlimited) does not affect trophies. None of the trophies are missable. Check each individual trophy description for good locations in the game. There is plenty of experience hidden throughout each chapter that you should work to collect. Every 50 XP will gain you a skill point which you can then use to upgrade a character's ability. Some trophies (indicated below) require skill upgrades.

2. Clean-up.

My co-op partners and I finished the platinum in Chapter 7, which is just about halfway through the game. If you have completed the storyline and did not get the platinum, simply use chapter select to go back and get what you missed.

Earn all Trophies in Trine 2

Simply earn the other 12 trophies listed below and you'll have yourself a shiny new platinum. One with a pretty sweet image too!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/001.jpgSurfboard Master (G)

Stand on a plank floating on a single airflow for four seconds

There are multiple places throughout the game in which you can earn this. You will need a vertical steam vent that also has a constant flow of steam - watch, as some of them do not. The earliest you can earn this trophy is in Chapter 2 when the steam vents are first introduced. As the Wizard, hop onto the steam vent and float to its apex. From here conjure a plank as close to your feet as you can. The more centered and level the plank is, the better your chances are. If the plank starts to tilt, walk to the higher side in an effort to level it out. Once you "surf" this plank for four seconds, the trophy will pop.

See also the video under High Rise for more help.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

Make goblins die of three different environmental hazards in a single level

There are several ways you can cause enemies to die from the environment. All are made easier with the monster levitation upgrade for the Wizard. The easiest place to earn this trophy is in Chapter 3. You will come across beehives which you can either shoot down or levitate monsters into. You can also levitate enemies into fire or drop them onto spikes. Get three kills using any combination of these methods and the trophy will pop.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/003.jpgFlying Solo (G)

Complete a whole level playing one character only

As the trophy name suggests, this cannot be earned in a co-op game. For this trophy choose Chapter 2, and use the Wizard. By default, the game starts a level with the character you played as last. So if it starts the chapter as the Knight or Thief, simply switch to the Wizard and restart the level. Your objective is to get from start to finish without switching characters.

This is easiest if you have a fully upgraded Wizard. If you need to, reset your skills on the skill screen by pressing :square: and then allocate all of your skill points to the Wizard. You will absolutely need monster levitation. Additional boxes and planks are not necessary, but really help.

The only tricky part of this level is the giant snake boss. To beat him, immediately conjure a box on the ground as you enter his lair. Jump up to the topmost ledge and wait for a second. The snake will snap at you. You will need to jump out of the way, otherwise you are eaten. If you successfully get out of the way, the snake will destroy the top support. From here, use your box to break the other two supports and the snake will be crushed. There is a single infinite-spawning goblin in this area too. He can be a bit annoying. You can levitate him in front of the snake's fire blasts to kill him, or drop a box on him.

Note that if you die, you can immediately pause and hit "restart checkpoint" and you WILL still get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/004.jpgA Floral Feast (G)

Feed carnivorous plants with three or more different kinds of treats

The first time you encounter a carnivorous plant is in Chapter 7, where one will be blocking your path. If you try to run by, it will eat you. The three heroes each count as different kinds of treats. In my game, my two friends and I each took turns getting eaten by the plant and then resurrecting at the nearby checkpoint. You may also feed carnivorous plants an enemy too. It will not eat boxes or planks. The trophy will pop after the third treat.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/005.jpgIcebreaker (G)

Shatter three frozen enemies within one second

You will need upgrades for the Thief and the Knight for this trophy. This can be accomplished in Chapter 6. You'll come to a part where you'll need to adjust some pipes to douse the fire that blocks your path. When you do this, a bubbling cauldron with red liquid in it to the right of the flames will spawn infinite enemies. You will need the Thief's upgraded frozen arrows for this. Freeze one enemy at a time (in a block of ice they will stay frozen long enough) until you have three in a row. Switch to the Knight and throw your hammer. If the hammer hits and shatters all three, the trophy will pop.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

Here is a video detailing an alternative and potentially easier method for this trophy:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/006.jpgHammer Havoc (G)

Kill an enemy with a thrown hammer bouncing at least once before kill

This trophy requires you to purchase the hammer throwing skill for the Knight first. Once you have, press :triangle: to switch weapons. Hold the :rs: in any direction to aim the hammer - this works exactly like the Thief's arrows. Your objective is to bounce the hammer off of the ground before it hits and kills an enemy. Set your combat settings to "Easy" if you are having trouble getting a one-hit kill. This trophy will pop soon after you kill the enemy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/007.jpgDirty Tactics (G)

Get at least 10 enemies killed by other enemies' actions in a single level

There are a few ways to accomplish this. For location, you'll want to head to Chapter 6. You'll come to a part where you'll need to adjust some pipes to douse the fire that blocks your path. When you do this, a bubbling cauldron with red liquid in it to the right of the flames will spawn infinite enemies.

As the Wizard, you can simply levitate an enemy in front of you and other enemies will hack it down in an attempt to get to you. This requires an upgrade for the Wizard. You'll need to be quick in grabbing each successive enemy.

As the Thief, you'll want to purchase the frozen arrows. Freeze an enemy and then stand directly in front of it. As another enemy nears and readies an attack, jump out of the way and the enemy will shatter his buddy.

Whichever way you choose, the trophy will pop after the tenth enemy has been dispatched.

Co-Op Note: This trophy was a bit wonky in our co-op game. We had one person doing the work, but the three of us each received the trophy at different times.

Stand on a conjured box bouncing on any bouncy surface for 10 seconds

You can get this trophy as early as Chapter 2. You will come to an area with several toadstools that will bounce you up into the air when you land on them. (Holding :cross: as you land will bounce you higher.) Stand on the ledge before and conjure a box, then drop it on the pad. The objective here is to keep your balance on the box as it bounces on the pads. The difficulty is that the box almost never lands flat, which means it's going to want to turn in the air. Before you drop it, try to make sure that the bottom is as level as it can get. Once you are on the box for 10 seconds after it has hit a pad the first time, the trophy will pop.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/009.jpgA Hail of Arrows (G)

Shoot 3 arrows in the air and catch them all with the Knight's shield

If you are playing solo... switch to the Knight and make sure his shield and sword are active. Switch then to the Thief. Aim a near-full strength arrow straight up and let it fly. Do the same with a medium-strength arrow and a low-strength arrow. While the arrows are in the air, switch to the Knight and hold your shield above you. You must catch all three arrows and the trophy will pop.

If you are playing co-op... Have one person as the Knight stand with their shield up. Have the other one or two people stand next to them as Thieves and just keep launching low-strength arrows at the Knight's shield. Keep doing it and eventually the trophy will pop.

Co-Op Note: Each person in your co-op game will need to catch arrows as the Knight to earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/010.jpgHigh Rise (G)

Construct a tower made of eight objects and stand on top of it

This is very similar to a trophy in the first game. While you can do this trophy by yourself, it is very easy in the online or local co-op mode. Host a co-op game, and make the character mode "Unlimited" so that you can have multiple wizards on screen at once. At a minimum, you will want to upgrade your Wizard so that each can conjure 2 objects. From here, simply stack objects that you create (planks make this easy) along with any boxes already contained in the level (these do count towards the total) until you have 8 on top of each other. Stand on the top and the trophy will pop. (I love rhyming.)

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

Using grapple, swing around an object and reattach grapple again without touching any surface

This trophy requires the Thief and can be done in several spots during the course of the game. The easiest spot is early on. About halfway through the second chapter, you will be introduced to the steam pipes. Near the top of that area is a tree branch sticking out of the background that you can grapple to. The objective here is to gain enough momentum while swinging that when you release the grapple, you can jump up and over the branch without touching it. On your way down the other side, you need to grapple the branch again. This is a little trickier than it sounds and will take you several tries.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

Here is a video that may those who are having difficulty. Many thanks to rospondek for providing it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/601/012.jpgThis Wasn't the Plan (S)

Make a bubble sink for three seconds

This trophy requires the Wizard and can be done at any point in the game where you see a bubble. Typically bubbles will appear from pools of water. Later in the game they will appear from cauldrons. Conjure a box and hold it above where the bubbles form. Give yourself enough room between the bubble source and the box. When the bubble reaches the box it will stop rising. Simply push the bubble down using the levitated box. Do it slowly and after three seconds the trophy will pop.

Co-Op Note: If you are playing in a co-op game, all players will receive this trophy if one person completes it.

Is there anyway to earn the High Rise trophy playing only as an offline single player ?

yes you can do it by yourself but you will have to play the game so you can upgrade your wizard so he can have 8 object to stack otherwise if you go online i hear its easier cause you can have multi wizards in one game so you dont need him upgraded.. good luck

Yes you can easily do it by yourself in the 2nd level Forlorn Wilderness, you will come to a part where there is 5 boxes already on the floor, stack them up and make 3 more and stand on it, video below

In addition TheNuke's solution, if you have an extra controller, another option is start up a local co-op game in Unlimited mode and you can use all Wizards.

very nice guide, maybe you can add a Roadmap section ?

I considered this but there's not much to the roadmap. You can earn the platinum before you're halfway done with a single playthrough. If it's something people want, I can add it though.
