Introduction

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a jam packed action adventure game that has a lot to offer. It was a remake of the first game ‘Tomb Raider’ in this series & it has now been remastered in HD for the PS3 Tomb Raider Trilogy. Because it has been remastered in HD you will get the same environments as before but they are now much more graphically better. You can expect to be taken back to the games roots with everything that made the series a huge hit. Plenty of adventure, puzzles to solve, obstacles to overcome and scary enemies to take care of.

The trophies related to this game are straightforward and easy to collect. You have the main ones for completing chapters & the story mode, then there are some for killing enemies in a certain way and finding collectibles. Lastly this game offers something called ‘Time Trials’, these require you to complete each level again but you will have to complete them within the given time frame.

Step 1: Completing The Game On Hardcore + Collecting Artifacts, Relics + Weapons & Completing The Interactive Cut-Scenes & Defeating Each Boss Without Dying

The first step should come naturally, you need to complete the games story mode, however you need to choose the Hardcore difficulty when it asks you what difficulty you would like to play on. Hardcore is not difficult at all so therefore I recommend you go for this straight away. Just be careful because you will take more damage than usual & the enemies become ever so slightly harder to kill.

Whilst completing the game you need to keep a sharp eye out for the collectibles, these are the artifacts, relics & the 3 different weapons. Just check each individual trophy for more information on where to find these, don’t worry if you do happen to miss anything, there is chapter select available to you so you can go back at any time.

Also just a quick note on the bosses. When you reach them be careful not to die as there are trophies related to this. If you do die but carry on then this can waste you a lot of time replaying the level again. Just reload a checkpoint/previous save if you die to give yourself another opportunity at the trophy.

Lastly, during some specific cutscenes you will need to press a sequence of buttons in the correct order, these are known as interactive cut-scenes. You need to complete these without dying to get through the cut-scene & have a chance of getting your trophies. There are only a handful of these that you need to complete so see the guide below for some information on these.

Step 2: Completing Croft Manor

Croft Manor is an extra level available from the main menu. It is essentially a level to help you learn how to play the game. It teaches you how to perform each move, how to collect items, how to go about solving puzzles & how to use your gadgets.

IMPORTANT NOTE! I strongly recommend you do this after you have gotten the Tough Enough trophy (for completing the game in hardcore). If you go for it whilst in between the story then it can have an affect on your story's difficulty setting and may revert it back to medium.

Step 3: Time Trials

To unlock each time trial simply play through the story mode & complete croft manor. Once you have completed a level you will unlock the option to replay that level again but in the time trial mode.

To play in time trial mode just select to replay a level from the main menu & when it asks what difficulty you would like to play on choose the 'Time Trial' option. Now just go through each level and croft manor & try to complete it within the designated time. Please see the Guide for tips and tricks to help with the time trials.

Step 4: Clean Up

After completing the 3 steps above you should have your platinum. However there are 1 or 2 random trophies that are related to other tasks in the game. One of these for example could be to kill a lion with an adrenaline headshot. Just check your trophy list for any you still need to collect and then head out to get it using chapter select.

After that you should have your platinum, congratulations!

Earn all the trophies in Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Simply obtain all of the other trophies in the game to earn this Platinum trophy.

02.jpg  Bilateral Disarmament (B)

Turn off both dart shooters in the Mountain Entrance hall in Peru

The dart shooters are located in the first level of the game, you will not encounter them until you go though the big doors and into the cave of the mountain. So as you enter the cave run forwards until you step onto a pressure pad, stepping on this initiates the dart trap. To disarm them you need to pull two switches.

Walk forwards until you just step off of the pressure pad & turn to the left to face the wall. On here is a ledge, you simply need to make your way up this ledge to your first switch that you need to pull. After you have done that jump from the ledge you are on to the ledge on the opposite wall, now shimmy your way around the wall and down to the second switch. Pull it and the darts will stop earning you the trophy.

03.jpg  Getting the Goods (B)

Find an artifact or relic

Artifacts and Relics are scattered throughout the game. They are always hidden and therefore require you to do an extra bit of tomb raiding in order to find them. Artifacts are small triangular objects that are surrounded in a bright white light. The relics vary in what they look like but they are surrounded by an orange light.

You will most likely obtain this trophy near to the beginning of the first level as the first artifact can be found in the first cave you enter.

Make sure you see each individual trophy below for links on where to find each artifact and each relic. You will especially need to collect the relics in order unlock outfits for the 'Dressed To Kill' trophy.

04.jpg  Hot Shot (B)

Kill 3 enemies with an Adrenaline Dodge and Head Shot attack

An enemy first needs to be enraged with you before you can perform an adrenaline headshot. You will know the enemy is enraged when they charge at you and the screen goes blurry a little bit. To entice an enemy into a rage you can try and fire a few shots off to injure them.

To perform an adrenaline dodge you first need to lock on to an enemy with your guns by pressing and holding :l1:. Now when the enemy charges at you simply press :circle: to dodge into the air, the direction you want Lara to go will be the direction you will dodge in. To get more of a chance to perform a headshot I advise you dodge backwards so you are facing the enemies face. So as you are in the air two reticules ill make their way towards the enemies head, when they meet they will begin to flash to let you know you have a headshot on. All you need to do now is press :r1: to shoot you guns and perform the headshot.

Your first opportunity to get one of these will be at the very beginning of the second level in Peru. As you walk forwards up some stairs a bear will appear from around the corner, the game will stop & will begin to walk you through the steps of performing this, so just read them carefully. Just do 3 in total to get your trophy.

Sometimes during the game you will get interactive cut-scenes, interactive cut-scenes are ones where as you watch the cut-scene you may have to press a button that appears on screen. All of the normal buttons can be used such as :triangle:, :circle:, :cross: & :square:, but you may also need to press others such as :r1: to shoot. Pressing these during the cut-scenes will help you to dodge enemy attacks, attack an enemy yourself or shoot an enemy. If you fail on a button you will die, if you press all of them correctly without failing then it will count towards the trophy. If there is more than one interactive cut-scene in any chapter then you will need to complete them all without dying to get the trophy.

There are 3 interactive cut-scenes altogether in Peru, please see below for a list of what levels the interactive cut-scenes can be found in & what buttons you need to press in order to complete them successfully.

09.jpg  Weapon Master I (B)

Collect the Shotgun

This weapon is located in the 3rd level of Peru 'The Lost Valley'.

During this level you will come to a section where you have to cross a bridge to collect the second cog from a ledge. If you turn around here you will be able to shoot the gold ring on the bridge to make it collapse, this will then turn into a ladder giving you access to where the shotgun is located.

So carry on forwards and make your way back up the ledges to get back to the opposite side. Go through the small passage and make your way to where the bridge used to be. You can now hang down here and use the broken bridge as a small ladder, climb down a little bit and you should be able to spot a small opening on your right hand side. Jump to this opening and follow the passage around to the right to find the shotgun on the floor.

NOTE: Don't worry if you didn't pick this up here. You will automatically get it through the story after you have finished the final level in Peru.

23.jpg  Slayer I (B)

Defeat the boss in Peru without dying

This trophy can be obtained in level 3 of the Peru section.

Midway through this level you will enter a massive open area that is filled with mist & trees. If you walk forward slowly a few raptors will round the corner and begin to attack you, finish them off with your pistols and move on. This time as you move further forwards a cut-scene will play, you will be shown Raptors running away from something, this something is a T-Rex and it is in fact the boss you now have to kill.

This fight is actually very easy to finish without dying, even in hardcore mode. The main move you want to be performing throughout this fight is the adrenaline dodge/adrenaline headshot. If you look up in the top right corner of the screen you will see two bars, the yellow bar is its health and the red bar is its rage meter, you need to shoot at the T-Rex to fill the rage meter in order to perform the adrenaline moves.

There are two ways in which you can use these moves to kill the T-Rex & they are as follows:

1 - Take out your pistols and rain fire upon the T-Rex until the rage meter fills. As the T-Rex becomes enraged and charges at you press :circle: to jump to the left or right, make sure you jump to the side here, if you jump backwards he will just charge into you and the move will stop. So whilst you are in the air watch the two reticules, when they meet on its head press :r1: to fire. This will only take a small chunk of its health off but just rinse and repeat to finish him off easily.

2 - If you scan the open area where this fight takes place you should be able to see 3 spiked contraptions. Just line yourself up in front of one of these and use the same technique as above. Enrage the T-Rex so it runs for you, but as you jump out of the way it will injure itself on the spikes. This way may be a little quickeR as the spikes see to do more damage.

Just make sure you don't die during the fight & once the T-Rex is taken care of you should get the trophy.

10.jpg  Lightning Never Strikes Twice (S)

Complete the Hephaestus room in Greece without being struck by lightning

This trophy can be obtained during the first level in Greece.

As you make your way through this level you will soon come to a very tall room with a structure in the middle of it. Scattered around this room are 4 doors, the Poseidon door, the Atlas door, the Damocles door & the Hephaestus door. Simply progress through this section pulling switches in the room to open up the various doors, obviously for this trophy you need to go through the Hephaestus door.

Once inside make your way over the locked door and into the room ahead, in here you will spot a ball of lightning near the ceiling and an open floor area in which you have to make your way across. As this trophy states you need to complete this section without getting hit by lightning, the secret is all in the floor panels.

If you look closely you will see them rise and fall, the tiles that rise and fall will constantly change. You want to aim for the tiles that DON'T rise, if you stay on these then you are safe from the lightning. You won't get the trophy until you complete this whole room by grabbing the Hephaestus key and leaving back to the area where you first arrived.

TIPS: If you get in a tight spot whilst on the floor tiles then try pressing :circle: to roll onto a safe tile. If you do get hit then you should be able to load your last save, you should end up back at the entrance of the Hephaestus door.

22.jpg  Central Shaft Survivor (S)

Complete the central shaft in the Lost Island without dying

This is obtained in the 'Great Pyramid' level of 'The Lost Island' chapter.

Near to the beginning of this level you will reach a small open area that is very very high. This is the central shaft, there is a lava pit at the bottom of it and ledges/platforms/poles etc scattered around the edges as you move higher upwards.

Altogether there are 5 ledges for you to reach. To get from one ledge to the next you need to perform certain moves and skills. Most of the time there is a button for you to shoot when on a ledge, shooting this button will make poles or rings appear from the wall. The rings and poles are timed so therefore you need to be quick to use them so you can get to the next ledge. You simply need to reach the top of the shaft without dying to earn yourself the trophy.

TIP: As you reach each of the 5 ledges there will be a checkpoint, I recommend you save at each checkpoint in case you die. That way you can load this save and the death will not count. There are sometimes flying enemies that appear out of cocoons on the walls, just be alert for when they spring out and attack you because some of their fireball moves can knock you off of the edge.

24.jpg  Slayer II (S)

Defeat the boss in Greece without dying

This boss is located in the 'Tomb Of Tihocan', the last level of the Greece chapter.

There are actually two bosses in the same fight here, they can be a little awkward as there are specific methods needed to kill them, please see below for more help.

Firstly you CANNOT shoot the centaurs at this time, if you do the centaurs will use an attack that turns you to stone. If this happens then rapidly move the left analogue stick to the left and right to shake the stone off of you. If you shoot them there is a simply way you can make sure you don’t get turned to stone, just turn around and face the opposite way to the centaurs green beam.

Now the first part of the fight is easy, you have to disarm the centaurs and take their shields off of them. To do this just run around the area avoiding the centaurs as they run, also press :circle: to dodge their fireballs. Soon one of them will become enraged, you will have to perform an adrenaline headshot on the centaur. Remember to dodge sideways because if you jump backwards you will get hit and you won’t be able to perform the move correctly. Once you manage to headshot the centaur it will become stunned and leave its shield open. The shield has a gold ring on it, this means you can grapple it, do so with :square: & then press :triangle: to pull it off of it. Do this for both centaurs for the next part of the fight to begin.

Start shooting at the centaurs once more, they will once again become enraged and will again try to turn you to stone with their green beam of light. At this point you want to drop your weapons and pick up one of the two shields that are lying on the ground, press :triangle: to pick a shield up. Face the centaur with the shield held to deflect the beam back at it and turn it to stone. Now press :triangle: to drop the shield and start shooting at the centaur, the yellow bar indicates its health so when that gets down to empty the centaur will shatter. Do this again for the second centaur and the fight will end.

Don't forget this needs to be without dying so make use of :circle: to roll about a lot and avoid being hit. Also make use of your medipacks, press  to use a small medipack & to use a large one.

25.jpg  Slayer III (S)

Defeat the first boss on the Lost Island without dying

This trophy is gotten in the final chapter of the game 'The Lost Island', it's also in the last level of the game 'The Final Conflict'.

As soon as you start this level walk into the room until a cut-scene begins to play. After the cut-scene has ended the boss fight will begin.

You can't directly shoot at the boss straight away as this won't damage it, you will have to target its left hand first. To do this you have to lead the creature off the edge of the platform you are fighting on. Doing this is simple, just stand with your back to the edge of the pit & get the creature enraged by shooting at it. Once it is enraged it will attack you, just perform the adrenaline dodge to move out of the way which should make it fall over the edge.

It will cling onto the ledge with its right hand and try to pull itself back up using its left hand. At this point an orange circle will show over the creature’s left hand, just target this area and constantly shoot at it. Depending on the effectiveness of the weapon you're using you may have to complete the above method another time. Carry on until its left hand is destroyed.

Once again go through the same method and make it hang off the edge. This time it only has one hand clinging onto the edge, therefore target this hand to shoot at the fingers and make it lose its grip. When all the fingers have been shot away from the edge the creature will fall into the pit and the trophy will pop.

26.jpg  Slayer IV (S)

Defeat the final boss on the Lost Island without dying

This is obtained in the final chapter of the game 'The Lost Island', specifically the last level 'The Final Conflict'.

This is the fight that the game has been building up to, it isn't tough at all & I actually found it one of the easiest to beat without dying. This fight is completed in two main stages, see below for information on how to complete each stage, also watch the video for an easy visual walkthrough.

Stage 1:

During this stage you have two targets that you need to hit. If you aim your guns at Natla you will see two orange reticules, one is on her left wing and one is on her right, these are your targets. Just run around the arena constantly shooting at each wing. Also be aware of her fireball attacks, either press :circle: to roll out of harms way or just hide behind one of the four pillars in the area.

When the wings have been damaged enough a cut-scene will play, after the cutscene stage 2 will begin.

Stage 2:

This stage is a lot more simple to complete & as with previous boss fights you will need to use the adrenaline headshot attack to help damage her. So because you have damaged her wings she will no longer be flying, she will still have her fireball attack and it is a lot harder to dodge this time. Once again you can use :circle: to move out of the way or hide behind a pillar when they are flying at you.

Shoot at Natla to fill her enrage bar, when it is full she will charge at you. You need to run at her and perform the adrenaline headshot over her head so you will end up facing her back. As you land you will see a green spot on her back, this is your main target this time round and it is the target that will help you finish the fight, so pick a damaging gun and shoot at it constantly. You won’t kill her on your first time shooting it so repeat the adrenaline headshot over her to get another chance at damaging it.

Once her health bar is empty the fight will end and you will get the trophy.

27.jpg  Homebody (S)

Complete all of the challenges in Croft Manor

Croft Manor is a level that can be played any time during the game. Just go to the Tomb Raider Anniversary main menu and select it from there. This is kind of an introductory level into the game, it is there to help you learn how to move about & perform the various moves available. You will also learn how to shoot/aim your weapons and learn how to go about solving puzzles.

Complete all the Time Trials in Peru

Time trials are just the normal levels of the game, however when you play them you are given a certain amount of time in which you need to complete the level.

To unlock all the time trials you simply need to beat the game. To play them go to 'replay level' from the main menu, then when the 'replay settings' box appears change the difficulty to 'Time Trial'.

Each difficulty of the time trials varies. That is because some levels are harder to complete than others due to more enemies, a bigger sized level, more difficulty puzzles or less time given to complete it. Simply finish all of the time trials within the specific chapters to unlock the trophy relating to that chapter.

VERY USEFUL TIP:

If you complete all of 'The Lost Island' time trials first you can unlock 2 weapons that will increase your chances of completing all the other time trials. The guns are:

- Golden Shotgun: Using this gives you one-shot kills. It also contains unlimited ammo

- Silver Mini SMGs: Using these gives you unlimited ammo

These are cheats and can be turned on in the cheats menu of the game. Make sure you do that before going for your next time trials.

OTHER TIPS:

- Pressing :cross: and then :circle: straight away performs a swan dive. Using this helps you to cover a lot more distance much more quickly

- The cutscenes DO NOT count in the time, so watch them if you wish

- Pausing the game stops the counter

- Try not to die or make any mistakes. The time given should still be enough if you do in fact happen to die or make mistakes. But avoiding these where possible will greatly increase your chances of completing the level within the given time frame

- Don't go for ammo, medipacks or artifacts/relics. Collecting these will lose you a lot of time as you will have to go out of your way to get them.

42.jpg  Tough Enough (G)

Complete the game on Hard difficulty

Before you start the game make sure you change the difficulty setting to hardcore.

The hardcore difficulty setting is available to choose from the very beginning, therefore to reduce to the number of playthroughs needed, I recommend you change the difficulty to hardcore straight away.

All you need to do now is beat the game. Nothing much changes from the easiest difficulty to the hardest. The enemies will be a little bit harder and Lara will take a lot more damage than usual, but altogether the difficulty is still incredibly easy.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

It has been said that if you try and complete a time trial before completing the whole game then your difficulty is set back to medium. Therefore if you were going through the game on hardcore you will no longer get this trophy, because technically you will end up finishing it on medium. To make sure this doesn't happen just complete the game in its entirety first before doing any time trials.

Hey Rockets, how difficult are the time challenges? I bought the game and am curious. My initial thought was I wasn't going to worry about the plat - but I might :p

I have only done a few random levels but altogether they aren't too bad. The tips in the guide should definitely help, aswell as the videos in the spoiler. My advice....watch a couple of minutes from the video, remember what to do, then play up to the point you saw. Repeat the process. I'll be carryng on with other levels tonight so I'll let you know more soon.

Wow sorry, but how has my guide been closed, when it has a lot more discussion and views? This guide has 2 pages of discussion mainly from the GT. My guide was also made well before this one.

If that isn't favouritism to your mate who is on the Guide Team I don't know what is.

Is it possible to make a complaint?

I agree, this seems very weird. Dell Boi's Guide is in much more depth.

I appreciate your support, thanks, but I doubt this decision will be over-turned, but I'm not just going to let it slide without complaining. All I've done is help people with the game, at the very least I'd like my guide open so I can continue to do so.

I had the same thing happen to me with an add-on for Mafia II. It seems there is no space for new guide makers.

Comparing the two guides myself I can see this is not true. I also have some vital information to help earn trophies that isn't listed in the other guide. It isn't a bad guide though.

And just to say @ Dell Boi, I actually had a guide made before yours was posted I just didn't show it until I was 100% complete.

Alright it's fine, I'll just not attempt guides in future, I'll just help out in the ones others have made. :p I still want to help out in TR related stuff.

I wouldn't just quit. For someone who is (as i'm aware of) new to guide writing I don't think I have seen a better guide made. Yours had alot of great detail and was set out exactly how it is needed. You may of benefited slightly from reading the roadmap/guide walkthroughs a bit more but not much. As Vyrastas and tuff said, there were only a few things that separated the two.

For the good or for the bad I didn't read the part when the guide says that if you're playing on hard but after you finish the level you play a time trial the game resets your difficult setting to normal, in other words, I screw up the "Tough Enough" trophy.

So now my question is: Can I play every level from the "Replay Level" option on the main menu on Hard setting and still get the trophy or do I have to start a new fresh save file, start it on hard and move on from there?

I don't mind doing either so I just want to now if playing every level separately under the level select screen will count toward the trophy. Thanks in advance for reading this and hope you can help me.

Leaving a message just to say thanks again for the guide Rockets! The collectible videos were most helpful.

I don't think replaying chapters work, though I'm not 100% on that. Rather than attempt every level via chapter select on Hard only to not unlock the trophy after all that hard work. I'd suggest you finish every other trophy, then start a new game on Hard.
