Easy way to beat Nightmare Train

I did this with fairly crappy equipment. A couple S and A items and even some C items. My advice would be get some +dmg and +hp items (I guess that's pretty obvious huh?) and kill the gargoyles ASAP before more spawn so you are only fighting off 3-4 at a time. Then when Jin comes, grab the gun, maneuver yourself to the opposite rail of Jin and shoot hiim off the side.

After reading up that I had to farm S-level items, I finally beat the Nightmare train today with King as my primary.

I just kept playing the level over and over and over. Eventually, you'll get A or S level items that give you +90/+100% item drops. Equip those for you and Alisa and you should be getting 1 items per play on average.

HOWEVER, I realized later on that just play through Yoshimitsu's secret level if you want to get tons of items. There are a lot of aliens and they drop an item with every kill. The enemies drop a lot of items as well, which helps.

All I have left is the gallery trophy (I'll complete that today) and I have platinum here. I bought the game three days ago!

When Jin arrived on my win, he was walking towards me from the covered part of the train. I grabbed the gun, he jumped up and I shot him off the train in mid-air.

Pretty pathetic but I'm glad to be done with it.

I am using Nina and it is tough!!!! I am totally in favor of trying with Alisa lol!

I actually tried with Alisa and did better than I was with Nina but still couldn't beat it. I went back and played as Lars to farm a tad and get some good items. After I got him like +242 health and Alisa had a +321 health I played it again and got the Devil Jin on the first try.

I picked up the gun and tried to knock him off but ran out of ammo. After a few more tries I got back to him and knocked him off the train with my first couple of bullets. I used Lars and didn't really have everything upgraded, hell I hardly even played with him. I just let Alisa do most of the work while I used my spinning kick (circle) on the other enemies.

I used lee to beat him. It was hard to do, but He is fast and strong. So it worked out well. Alisa got knocked out and i knocked devil jin off with the gatling gun. But When it went back to the world map, The nightmare train level still wasnt defeated. What happened?

thank you so much for the tip.. this guide helped me so much.. it took me a few tries to get it but from the moment i used alisa i noticed it was much easier.. i even managed to do most of it by myself because lars got KOed like almost straight away.

I've been having trouble with the AI always dying, and I've seriously tried many many times to do Nightmare Train, but with no success. I even grinded S rating items for Kazuya, and with him you can do the very cheap hold up and against enemy while you spam circle attack. Then I actually tried to follow the tip to fight the enemies Alisa attacks, and doing that, always helping her with her enemies made her survive, and by that I never ended up getting teamed up on, and I finally got to see Devil Jin! I tried to ran over to the gatling gun, but instead mashed into Devil Jin, and then he started to attack me while I tried to eat a chicken, but before I was able to do that Alisa must have hit him so he went flying off the train, because all of a sudden I had beat the stage!

Anyways, my main point is that you should always help the AI fight their fights, try to always stop any enemy from attack them, never let them get teamed up. Sure the AI suck, but if it die, all enemies will team up on you leaving you no space or time to attack. I had tried many times without, but made it the first time I tried this tactic. Don't go all out and finish of some enemy while your partner gets their butt kicked.
