Help, TV ISSUES!

i just got a new tv in my room, my ps3 is lagging by like a second, i tried multiple games... i will fire my gun and it will take like half a second for the fucking character to be smart enough to FIRE THE FUCKING GUN DAMMIT... i used to have standard definition tv with the red,yellow,white wires... now i have an HDMI chord and i was wondering if i could calibrate it? please RESPOND

Have you changed your settings when you switched to HDMI?
Display Settings > Video Output Settings > HDMI

Also depending on the game you might be able to adjust lag settings, which I suggest you do manually.

The refresh rate on the TV might be low. What is it on your TV? It usually says it in the user manual.

What brand is it? If it's an uncommon brand, then the refresh rate is probably low.
