Nat & Lag connected?

So I recently opened my nat so I could play in parties on Call of duty MW3 but ever since then I seem to be getting yellow or red ping. my connection is fine though. Has opening my nat causing my online lag?

Im unsure exactly what you mean when you say you 'opened you NAT'. Did you use port forwarding? Or set your ps3 to DMZ? Either way, rather then try to explain it all without missing something, I found these handy video guides for you

I'd like to start by saying thanks to everyone for the help, and what I mean by opening my nat is I changed it from strict to open (by using port forwarding) I've just noticed that since I've done that, I seem to be having lag issues I'm not sure if it's coincidence or if it is because I changed my nat type
