I've always liked SF, my favourite one being SFA3. I'm not disappointed at all with this one.
I've never been an expert though. I did well in SFA3, but this one, even on medium, seems incredibly difficult. Mind you, it's really been a while since I played SF. I might get a little better. But in the meanwhile, do any of you have any beginning tips? I'm feeling overwhelmed lol. Especially online. I don't mind people kicking my ass. Not at all. I had fun fighting with this guy for like an hour in Endless Battle last night. (never won a single round lmao) Overall, what would you suggest for a SFIV newbie, online and offline? |

If you really want get good, go to site eventhubs or like shoryuken.com to help you out. The forum here won't really help you that much other than give you some tips on how to do some trials here and there to get you closer to achieve your platinum if you are planning to get it.
Stick to one character you like. I think starting with motion character is much easier. Learn Priority-Linking which is key to chain combos and you just need to master it if you even want to be a decent player. Other than that, its just spending tonnes of time playing knowing your match-up gaining knowledge. Once you spend so much time and master all basic and peak at a certain level, you can do more research frame, safe-jump, kara, option select etc which you can discuss in forum dedicated to fighting games or follow top SF players in twitter or something since they post some pro-tips sometimes. If you just wanna be average and have some fun player mastering p-linking is all you need. Unless you really love fighting games most people wont really go that far. |
