Introduction

The Force Unleashed is back, and it’s more fluid than ever! In this game, you play the role of Starkiller…’s clone. Honed to perfection by Darth Vader, the clone proves too much to be like the prototype that he still retains memories and feelings, and the choice to make his own destiny. You will play him throughout the story, and as the story unfolds, you’ll forget that he is a clone, and see him as Starkiller himself.

Walkthrough

The Roadmap in this game might seem long, but it is actually quite easy. There are four steps you should follow. Though steps 3 and 4 can be merged in one step, I'd recommend against that (read further). These steps are:

Step 1: Playthrough on Easy (including Holocrons):

Here you’ll focus on finishing the game and collecting every Holocron. And yes, those include the blue (Force power), red (Health) and yellow (EXP) Holocons (in the first game, only yellow ones counted. Not this time, however). You will knock a lot of the trophies out of your way, and you can look up what trophies to achieve.

As for the Challenges, though they are in a separate section of the game, the challenges unlock in the course of the playthrough, with the final one unlocking after beating the game. (Note: Challenge #1 unlocks after the introductory tutorial in the first level. Apparently, it is shorter and more manageable without your Saber Force Power upgraded. Feel free to undertake that particular challenge at that point, but leave the rest for when you've upgraded enough).

"Easy" should be your first step, because it’ll be easier to get kill-based trophies in the course of the game. Plus, it doesn’t matter what difficulty you finish on; finishing the game on any difficulty will unlock the Unleashed difficulty.

At the very end of the playthrough (no spoilers) there will be a choice to make (out of two). Press :r1: to choose the choice that will unlock the Jedi Experimental Armor. (you’ll see for yourself when you get there), in addition to a hidden trophy. However, you will also have to choose the other option for another hidden trophy; but that can be done in the Unleashed playthrough.

Having all the Holocron upgrades, Force Points and having unlocked all the challenges, once you finish the playthrough you should get ready for..

Step 2: The Challenges

Once you complete the game, all Challenges will be accessible from the main menu. There are ten challenges, most of them are easy, but the challenging ones are extremely so.

You will need to get at least a Gold medal in all of them. Lucky for you, however, Gold is the second highest score, after Platinum. Speaking of which, you will only need one “Platinum” score anyhow, but that is very easy. The challenges vary in nature; there is a horde mode, enemy waves, time trials, survival trials and a few others. You will need to use every other skill you have, and the upgrades you have gotten from the first playthrough will help immensely.

For more information and detailed steps on how to do the challenges, check out the "Challenges Walkthrough" appendix here.

Step 3: Clean up via Level Select and Challenges (yes, stats overlap in both!)

Here you’ll pick up anything you missed, and this includes miscellaneous trophies and Holocrons. The first thing you should do is equip the “Wisdom” lightsaber in this step as it will get you extra Force Points so you can upgrade all your Force Powers to max for the Maxed Out trophy (and hopefully have all your forces upgraded before you start the Unleashed playthrough).

It should be noted that kill-based trophies do accumulate, so long as you save your progress. You can repeat a level over and over to get the specific trophies you need. Further, you can also replay the Challenges to unlock other kill-based trophies (yes, the stats do overlap so long as you save/auto-save). I'd recommend replaying Challenge #6 (Domination Trial) for some of the trophies since, if you step out of the green circle and go to one of the three platforms, you'll have infinite spawn of enemies and an unlimited time to execute the actions required for the trophies. If you die, the stats will carry over once you respawn.

Even with Level Select for Unleashed, the clean-up process on Easy via Level Select is essential to obtain any other trophies, as going for the miscellaneous one will be difficult in Unleashed where enemies will be pinning you down left and right. Also, again, to repeat, you will also accumulate and hopefully max out all of your Force Powers before you start your Unleashed playthrough.

Step 4: Unleashed Playthrough (via Level Select)

By this point, having finished the game already and done all the Challenges, you should have a lot of cool lightsabers, Force Points, Force Upgrades and other cool stuff you've amassed over the last three steps (and hopefully have all your Force Powers maxed out!). Be thankful, you are now fully ready for the Unleashed Playthrough!

Before you begin, there are there are two things you need to keep in mind:

  1. Make sure to have unlocked all other trophies first: This way, you can focus on getting the Unleashed difficulty trophy (and the other two difficulty trophies as well). Going after miscellaneous trophies in this playthrough, especially ones that require time and/or skill, can be extremely frustrating as enemies will pin you down left and right. Otherwise, get them after you finish the Unleashed playthrough. Either way, try not to get them during this playthrough to avoid the hassle.
  2. This trophy CAN be unlocked via Level Select: In fact, it's better this way as you'll get to keep all your weapons and upgrades. Choose the first level in Level Select, then choose the "Unleashed" difficulty. Continue to play from there on by choosing "Continue" whenever you quit the game (you should note that, if you quit, then then go back to the game, if you look up the level you are at via Level Select, it will say "Difficulty: Easy." Don't worry, though, once you complete the level (i.e. via "Continue" so as not to start from the beginning of the level), the stats will change and reflect the completed difficulty.) At any rate, do NOT start via "New Game," you'll lose all your other progress and the difficulty will be three times worse!

However, even with all the upgrades, "Unleashed" is still a challenging difficulty; you take a lot more damage while your enemies take a lot less. Your healing will be slow and you will die often. Moreover, most of the areas cannot be passed by running by or skipping the enemies; you will have to kill them to move on.

But, on the plus side, the game is extremely generous with the number of checkpoints; even during boss fights, there are checkpoints as well. So when you die, think of it as just replenishing your health. But don't take it for granted; within a small period there could be tons of enemies, so try to stay alive when you are in clustered situations.

IMPORTANT! There are a LOT more things to consider for the Unleashed Playthrough. For detailed tips and tricks, look under the Jedi Grand Master (G) trophy description. Trust me, it'll make the playthrough a lot easier.

Pretty self-explanatory, though any difficulty below it will also unlock Unleashed difficulty upon completion, which is why it is recommended that you play on Easy first to save yourself the hassle.

[spoiler=light]Complete the game and choose the light side ending.

In your confrontation with Darth Vader, at the end of the battle Kota will intervene, and stops you from killing him. You can a) just have him arrested (by pressing R1) to unlock this trophy (and get the cool Jedi Experimental Armor!) or b) Choose to kill him and unlock Betrayed by Rage trophy. Whatever decision you take, you can choose the other option in your 2nd playthrough or via level select.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/13.jpg Jedi Grand Master (G)

Complete the game on Unleashed difficulty.

“Unleashed” is the highest difficulty in the game. And it is unlocked by completing the game on any difficulty. The best approach is to finish the game on Easy first, get as many upgrades as possible, go through the Challenges, then start the Unleashed difficulty via Level Select. This way, you will retain all your upgrades and stats.

Also, the difficulty trophies are stackable, so if you finish the game on Easy, then Unleashed, you will automatically unlock the other two difficulty trophies (Medium and Hard).

Though much easier compared to Sith Master difficulty in the first Star Wars, "Unleashed" difficulty is still challenging, even with all the upgrades. That said, here are some tips for the Unleashed playthrough:

  • (Optional!) If you still don't have your Force Powers maxed out by this point, start by equipping the "Wisdom" lightsaber from the Start menu. The first few levels have a lot of easy enemies so you're bound to max out early on (that is, if you want all your Powers maxed out early, but for the Maxed Out trophy, you'll still get it with or without that lightsaber. Again, this tip is for those who want to be FULLY upgraded early in the Unleashed playthrough).
  • Equip the "Protection" lightsaber, which will greatly cut down the amount of damage you receive.
  • Use Force Repulse whenever your clustered by many enemies to give yourself some space.
  • Whenever you reach a checkpoint with your Force Fury meter full, save. If you use it and then die, exit and choose "Continue" - your Force Fury menu will be full again.
  • Whenever you reach a boss, there will always be smaller enemies floating near by. Try to kill them to replenish your health.
  • On that note, though when you die and respawn during a boss fight, his health may be low, but don't think it's a saved checkpoint - if you quit, then "Continue," you'll start the fight stage you're in from scratch (but not from the beginning of the battle, though).
  • Most importantly, you should employ the following tactics with various enemies:
    • Whenever you run into a variety of enemies in one area, start by taking out the Scouts (snipers) first! Use Force Lightning if they are at a distance. Trust me, that will save you a lot of time and hassle. Their aim is accurate and can stun you, making you vulnerable to attacks from other enemies.
    • When it comes to large droids, remove their shields first (if they have one) and keep using Saber Throw (:l2: + :square:) to attack them from a distance. Apply the same tactic with the AT-MP and similar enemies, and don't bother grabbing or deflecting their missiles as this may take some time, making you a vulnerable target.
    • Various enemies are impervious to various attacks: Imperial Riot Troopers (enemies in white uniform with a spear-like long weapon) cannot receive direct hits with the Saber Attack, but are vulnerable to Force Power attacks. Saber Guards (enemies in gold armour) and Sith Acolytes (enemies in red uniform) are impervious to direct Saber and Force Power Attacks. With ALL three I would suggest using the Grapple Attack (:square: + :cross:) at close proximity as it hits each one of them, and stun them to the ground (if not outright kill them). If they're stunned and on the ground, they are vulnerable to all sorts of attacks (Saber or Force), though if there is an open cliff, I would suggest grabbing them with Force Grip and tossing them away.
    • When it comes to Terror Troopers (enemies in a metal armour that disappear and reappear near you to attack), start by using Lightning Force :triangle: first to stun them, then perform the Grapple Attack and then any other attack you see fit.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/14.jpg Amplified (B)

Kill 10 enemies with the lightning towers.

In the penultimate level, "Kamino: The Return," though most of the level takes place indoors, later on you will get to a walkway outdoors with various troopers. There are at least two electric towers; one at the snipers' post, and the other further ahead where there are two AT-MP. Right before you reach the second one (which is right after the spinners' post), you'll run into a small group of Stormtroopers. Let them tail you to the electric tower (try to get rid of the giant droids if you can) and once they're there, quickly tap the :triangle: button against the tower (do NOT hold :triangle:). The tower will overcharge and electrocute everyone near by.

Go and jump off the ledge, you will die and respawn from the last checkpoint. Do the same thing again and maybe once more until the trophy unlocks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/15.jpg Kamfetti (B)

Kill five stormtroopers with the big fans on Kamino.

In the very first level, "Kamino: the Escape," once you get into the walkway outdoors, you will go through tunnels with large fans on each end and a number of Stormtroopers. Use Force Grip to hurl five of the troopers against the large fans to unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/16.jpg Imperial Painball (B)

Throw 10 enemies into the Kamino Plaza generators.

In the first level, there are small red generators scattered at parts of the level. They are small and are located outdoors (hard to miss). You will find them in the area right after you first use the Mind Trick command in the first level. In that open area, simply use the Force Grip to throw ten enemies against the generator. If the generator is destroyed, there are many more in the same area (and further ahead, too, in the same level).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/17.jpg Droid Rage (B)

Control the terror walker and destroy all the terror biodroids.

The terror walker is the boss in the seventh level, “Salvation: Aboard the Salvation.” Right before you destroy him, you’ll assume control over him. Use various methods to click the terror biodroids (they are identifiable like medium-sized spiders (NOT the spider drones, however!). There are 3-4 of them that appear as soon as you take control of the terror walker. Destroy them using any method (I used the laser with the :circle: button) and the trophy is yours. (Note: level's name was edited. Thanks to Canadian_Wilson for the correction!)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/18.jpg Strike! (B)

Kill three enemies with a single “bowling” ball.

In the second level, “Cato Neimoidia,” you will enter buildings with have a golden-colored globe in the middle (hard to miss). Use Force Grip to hold it and toss it at clustered enemies. There are more than one of those “balls” in that level so there are abundant opportunities.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/19.jpg Shattered (B)

Shatter 10 enemies frozen in carbonite.

In the first level, after you clear off the area with large red light barriers, you will encounter the "Carbonite War Droid." He is a large robot with a huge shield, and he sprays carbonite that will freeze you and other enemies. Once he freezes the troopers, destroy them with dash or Force Push. Though there won't be enough enemies to do that on when you first see meet this Droid, he will continue to appear in this level, and the second one, and then just a few times later in the game, so the opportunity window is abundant.

Alternatively, if you've completed the story and want a quick way to get this trophy, go to Challenge #10. In the first wave, remove the Shield from the droid, then run around him and let the troopers chase you. The droid will unleash the carbonite, freezing the enemies. Destroy the frozen enemies with Force Push or dash. However, there are only four enemies, so once you shatter them, save, restart and repeat the Challenge. Rinse and repeat 2-3 times until the trophy unlocks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/20.jpg Break the Bank (B)

Smash up to 10 game machines.

In the second level, “Cato Neimoidia,” there are rooms with many, many jackpot machines. Destroy ten of them and the trophy is yours. This trophy is virtually unmissable.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/21.jpg Valet (B)

Use Vader’s TIE Advanced fighter to destroy the AT-MP.

When you first start off the second level, you will be ambushed by Stormtroopers. As soon as y take out the Stormtroopers, AT-MP will appear across the area. Turn around and you'll see the TIE fighter you came with. Grab the TIE fighter with Force Grab, crumble it, then hurl it at the AT-MP. Voila, the trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/22.jpg Stay On Target… (B)

Get to the falling Gorog without crashing into any debris.

Gorog is the boss in the fourth level. In the last stages of the fight, you will chase him falling down to the ground. As you fall, you’ll run into debris AND flying Stormtroopers. Avoid them by Force Push and dodging, stay in constant motion. There is a wall as well, use Force Push to open up the hole in it. This is actually a very short segment, which will end with the camera zooming in on you (and when the Gorog's health reappears again - thanks Duality26 for this tip!). If that happens, and the trophy doesn’t unlock, simply exit the game to the main menu, then choose “Continue,” you will start from the beginning of the fall.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/23.jpg Master of Disaster (B)

Break all the coolant tanks aboard the Salvation.

“The Salvation” is the sixth level, and it is a spaceship. Starting there, after your first encounter with the spider droids, you will enter a large room with eight or so cylinder-shaped liquid tanks. These are the coolant tanks. There are many of them aboard The Salvation ship later on, some are well-hidden, so keep scouting and destroy each one and you should get this trophy. But make sure to destroy them from afar, and try not to die, as per the description of the trophy.

Here is a small guide on their location, credits go to jamby:

[in the sixth level]Once you've watched Juno from behind a Forcefield, go into the room you just were at. Destroy all 8 tubes from afar by using the Saber Throw. Go into the next room and destroy the 4 tubes in there too. The next time you need to put a power core into the door, don't put it in the door it's right next to. Instead, go to the dark corridor and use the power core on that door. Inside will be 3 other tubes. The middle tube holds this Tank, but by breaking all 3 you'll get the Master of Disaster trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/24.jpgThe Jan Stakross Trophy of Excellence (B)

Destroy all the lightning pylons on the Kamino dive.

In the first level, after the encounter with Vader you will start your first “fall.” During that fall you must destroy the pylons with Force Push (by spamming :circle:). The fall ends when you break into a glass dome. If the trophy doesn’t unlock then, quit, then “Continue” and repeat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/25.jpg Jedi Bomb Squad (B)

Remove all of the terror spider bombs on the Salvation.

In the seventh level, "The Salvation: the Battle for the Salvation," continue with the level until you reach a long hallway with Scout troopers at the end sniping at you. Don't go to them, turn left into a small room and you'll find small "explosive" spider droids all over the room. Take them out using Force Lightning or Force Repulse. Some of them are well-hidden in that room, look around, behind the broken tanks, everywhere (I found the last one right above the broken fuse outlet). Once you take them out in that room, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/26.jpg "No match for a good blaster at your side, kid" (B)

Kill 20 enemies using the turbolasers on the Kamino Drill Grounds.

In the first level, in the open area with the red seal walls and multitude of enemies (right after you first use the Mind Trick ability), there are “turbolasers” overarching the open field. They have a red laser reticule following you. Lure 20 enemies into it right before it hits, and have them die by it. This is somewhat tricky to pull off so if you’ve done as many as you could, simply save the game, exit then choose “Continue.” The death toll stacks. Also, this is a great place to unlock the It Burns! and the Imperial Painball trophies as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/27.jpg Top of the World (B)

Reach the top of the spire without falling once.

In the penultimate level, “Kamino: the Return,” later in that level will end up in a large space with floating platforms. This is where this trophy begins. First off, take off the horde of enemies that will come of the emerging tubes to raise the platform and begin the attempt for the trophy. If you fall, quit then choose "Continue."

However, before you go after the trophy, here are some tips:

  • As soon as you destroy the first wave of enemies and raise the platforms, this is where you have to be most careful. Take your time, and try not to fall, at least until you reach a checkpoint (the Saving icon will appear in the corner). If you fall before the checkpoint, you'll have to exit and then Continue, then do the fight with the troopers all over again.
  • Take your time, there is no time limit so tread carefully.
  • There are more checkpoints ahead, you will know then the Saving icon appears, so that should cut down the time you need to reattempt if you fall.
  • Hold the  button to guide you through the intricate maze.
  • There are two main areas to this trophy, separated by a gate and small room. In the first area, JUST double jump to land on the floating droids (don't double jump + dash). The double jump + dash is useful otherwise, especially if there is an open landing area or a wall that will stop you from overshooting the target.
  • The metal corridors that you move with :r2: have a gap at the end of them. So if you move them, go in and run to the opposite platform, you will fall! Just before you reach the end of the corridor, jump and dash.
  • Once you reach the first gate, destroy the enemies and proceed, the second area is far more confusing, so again, use the  button to guide you.
  • However, most of the floating droids this time are a bit far from the jumping point, so you have to CAREFULLY double jump + dash this time.
  • On the circle platforms, you there will be Terror Troopers lurking (the invisible ones). Anticipate them, be careful not to have them hit you off the platform and fall. Also be just as careful when you kill them, doing a complicated combo might push you to fall yourself.
  • The trophy will unlock once you get on the elevator and leave the level (i.e. when the cutscene of the following level begins.

Complete the first ten challenges with at least a Gold medal in each.

Challenges are additional challenges that unlock once you complete the game. There are ten challenges only (“first ten” refers to those who have the Collector’s Edition of the game, which includes two additional challenges). See the Challenges Walkthrough below to see how to get a Gold medal in each. It should be noted that Platinum, not Gold, is the highest rank so there is SOME room for error.

Note: the first Challenge unlocks after the initial tutorial. Apparently, it is shorter without your Saber Power upgraded. Feel free to undertake that particular challenge after you finish the first level, but keep the remaining Challenges for when you finish the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/32.jpg Platinum (S)

Get a Platinum medal on any challenge.

Don’t be fooled by the name; this is not the platinum trophy ;). As stated, Platinum medal is the highest rating in the Challenges. The easiest challenge to do it is Challenge #7, “Terror Trial.” (Challenge #2 is also another one but Challenge #7 is the quickest as well). Simply use the Force Repulse to kill the spider droids, the use Force Lightning to stun the terror troopers, then use Grapple on them (:square: + :cross:). Rinse and repeat for the four waves and try to make it before the timer hits 01:30 minutes.

Here is a video showing how to get a Platinum medal in Challenge #7:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/34.jpg Unleashed (B)

Activate Force Fury 10 times.

Force Fury is the temporary power boost that truly magnifies your powers and makes you, in most cases, invincible. As you kill enemies, in the down-left corner of your HUD, you’ll see a symbol later on with a weird shape with a blue “filling.” Once it reaches the maximum, it’ll shine in a way. Use :r3: and :l3: together to activate Force Fury. You will probably unlock this trophy in the Unleashed playthrough but if not, simply choose a level, attack until it fills up. Then reach a checkpoint (the saving symbol will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen). Once that happens, activate, then save, then exit. From the main menu choose “Continue.” You will be at that checkpoint again. Activate, save, quit, continue, rinse and repeat until the trophy unlocks.

However, the easiest and quickest place to unlock this trophy is in the first level, "Kamino: the Escape," as per the tip provided by SaberBlade:

If you replay Kamino (or if you're on your first playthrough), once you have to activate Force Fury, turn it on, then turn it off again, then on again and off again. Keep turning it on and then off again until the trophy unlocks. This is the only time in the game where you'll have infinite fury and the ability to turn it on and off constantly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/35.jpg Enjoy the Trip See You Next Fall (B)

Cause 50 enemies to fall to their deaths.

In the first and second levels, you’ll be walking in outer walkways, mostly bridges. Use Force Grip to grab an enemy, then throw him off the cliff to his demise. Do that 50 times and the trophy will unlock.

Alternatively, you can unlock this in Challenge #6, if you step away from the circle, you'll have infinite enemy spawn plus unlimited time. Grab as many enemies you want (make sure it's the Stormtroopers, though, as the other troopers are impervious to Force abilities).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/36.jpgMaxed Out (B)

Upgrade all powers to Rank 3.

This might seem like a grind, but it really isn’t.

This trophy requires you to max out all your seven Force Powers to Rank 3. To view your points and progress, press :select:, you will see how many points you have in the upper right corner. The Rank will be represented by the lit circle under the specific Power's icon, and the points required to level up the Power will be listed on top of the icon.

You will amass enough points to unlock most of your powers to level 2 and maybe 2-3 powers to level 3 by the end of the game. In your Level Select cleanup playthrough, while going after other trophies, I would suggest equipping the “Wisdom” lightsaber from the pause menu. Equip it in both hands. This lightsaber gives you a LOT of Force Points, so much so that from even destroying random object you’ll get at least 10 Force points.

If you complete the game on Easy, complete the Challenges (which also grant you Force Points), then clean up for other trophies while having Wisdom lightsaber equipped, you'll most likely have this trophy before or around the beginning of the Unleashed playthrough, maxing your powers out and allowing you to use other lightsabers for the Unleashed difficulty.

This approach requires absolutely no "grinding."

At any rate, it's up to you to decide how to approach this, though I'd recommend having everything maxed out by the third level in the game during your second, Unleashed, playthrough, for strategic purposes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/37.jpg Use the Force, Luke (B)

Complete any level using only Force powers.

I would suggest you play the first level via Level Select once you’ve completed the game and levelled up your Force Skills. Rely on Force Push, Force Grip and Force Lightning (also use Force Repulse at least once - thanks to jamby for the info) to kill the enemies. At the end of the level you should unlock this trophy. At any rate, avoid using the :square: button at all costs!

Though there are three things you need to know:

  • Ignore the command prompts and instructions at the bottom of the screen that require your use of the Saber blade - you do NOT have to do follow them to continue.
  • The use of the Saber by this point becomes a force of habit, as such, you might even use it without realizing it! So be careful as to not to use it.
  • During the same level, AVOID any QTE with the large Droids as you might be prompted to use the Saber.

Note: Many people have suggested the fourth level, "Cato Neimoidia: the Tarko-se Arena," (i.e. the level where you fight Gorog) as an alternative place to get that trophy. You can use the :square: button during QTE's only. Thanks to everyone who suggested this.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/38.jpg Lucky Streak (B)

Defeat 300 consecutive enemies without dying.

If you’re playing the game on Easy, this trophy is virtually unmissable. Continue to play the game as is, but be careful not to die by falling off cliffs (but sometimes you don't die when you fall off, other times you do.. don't know why)! Otherwise your stats will reset. Don’t fret, though; you’ll have a chance to get it by the end of the game as spider droids also count for this trophy and there are hundreds of them, easily killed with Force Repulse (:l2: + :circle:).

In the highly unlikely chance that you do not get this trophy by the end of the game, simply replay the 6th level two or three times on Easy via Level Select. There are lots of spider droids which count towards this trophy. Save and repeat the level - but, obviously, don't die in the process.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/39.jpg Sky Killer (B)

Destroy 15 TIE fighters.

TIE Fighters are the flying objects with weird wings. They always appear in open areas, fly by and start firing shots. Grab 15 of them in the course of your game and toss them to their demise. You'll be prompted to grab many of them during various QTE's in the course of the game so this trophy is virtually unmissable.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/40.jpgArachnophobia (B)

Destroy 200 Terror Spider Droids.

Don’t be alarmed by the number; these droids are abundant and are extremely easy to kill en masse with Force Repulse. They will first appear aboard the Salvation (level #6). You should have them by the end of the same level - if not, they will spawn infinitely during the boss fight later on.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/41.jpgIt Burns! (B)

Disintegrate 15 enemies by throwing them into red force fields.

Red force fields are the red electric seals. In the first level, when you descend into the massive square with many red walls and many weaker enemies (i.e. right after you first use the Mind Trick power), simply use Force Grip to throw them against these red light walls; they will immediately die. Use this area to unlock the Imperial Painball trophy as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/42.jpgPied Piper (B)

Entice 10 enemies to leap to their deaths with Mind Trick.

Again, another trophy that can be unlocked in the first level. After the big area with the red walls, you will end up in an outdoor walkway with many Stormtroopers; this is the perfect place to use the Mind Trick and send them to their own suicide. Kill 10 enemies with Mind Trick and this trophy will unlock.

It should be noted that this trophy requires you to use Mind Trick to force enemies to JUMP OFF cliffs; if there are a lot of enemies at the same spot, they might kill each other out, and that will not count towards this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/43.jpg Holocron Hunter (B)

Find every holocron.

Pretty self-explanatory. Though most holocrons are visible and easy to find, some require extra excavation. In the Easy playthrough at least, there is no ‘stats’ page for them, so you will have to keep track of which ones you unlocked. They are very easy to find.

For a video guide for each Holocron, check out the "Holocron Video Walkthrough" at the end of the guide (credits go to Jack and Geoff from AchievementHunter.com for these videos!): LINK

Force Grip a trooper, impale him with lightsaber, zap him with Force Lightning, then throw him into an object.

This is a rather cruel trophy that will appeal to any masochist out there. The trophy requires a specific sequence of action. The best place to do this is in the first level, “The Escape.” After the long fall and once you break the glass ceiling, continue until you reach outdoors. Do this against an UNTOUCHED Stormtrooper, make sure your Force Powers are not developed (level 1 preferably). Find one, then use Force Grip, hit him with the :square: button, zap him with the :triangle: button, then toss him against an explosive object (crates with a red light of some sort).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/45.jpg Return to Sender (B)

Kill AT-MPs by gripping their own missiles and throwing them back at them.

In the second level, you can unlock this when you first meet the AT-MP. When he fires the missile, grab it and throw it back, killing him with it. If not, try it multiple times until he dies. You can also unlock this trophy during Challenge #4 (unlocked once you complete the game).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/46.jpgUp, Up, and Away (B)

Overload 20 Jumptroopers jet packs.

Jumptroopers are ‘flying’ troopers with jet packs. You will encounter many of them early in the game. Simply press and hold triangle against them until their jet packs overloads, leaves smoke while they start flying uncontrollable in circles before they die. Do it to 20 Jumptroopers and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/47.jpg Passive Aggressive (B)

Parry and counter 10 melee attacks.

This requires perfect timing. You need to block with :l2: as soon as an enemy attacks you with melee then parry him (i.e. counter-attack him using :square: or :circle: or :triangle: (preferably :square:) immediately after you block. Do it to 10 different enemies and the trophy is yours.

The best place to do this is during Challenge #6, "Domination Trial." Simply step out of the green circle and go to one of the three platforms. You will have an infinite number of enemies to do it against.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/48.jpg Awww Yeah… (S)

Perform every combo move in the game (excluding combos that require Rank 3 Saber).

There are many combos in the game, but since the game autosaves, you can rest assured that you’ve done most of them by the end of the game, though most likely not all. You will need to be fully upgraded (except Rank 3 Saber).

Before you read, a few notes:

  • Though you'll most probably attempt this trophy later on with all Force Powers unlocked, upgraded with a few even maxed out, I would like to point out anyhow that the minimum requirement to attempt this trophy is: a) to have all abilities unlocked (which happens automatically as you progress, with the final one, Force Repulse, unlocking at Level 6, and b) have the Saber Power Force at least at Rank 2 to be able to execute a 4-5 hits in a combo.
  • Most of these combos can be done solo. However, a few absolutely require enemies (e.g. Counter-attack).
  • As such, it is best recommended to try to use them against enemies just to make sure you got it covered.
  • The best place to unlock this trophy is during Challenge #6, "Domination Trial." Simply step out of the green circle and head to one of the further platforms. This way, enemies will continue to spawn and you will have infinite time to perform all combos!
  • If you die and respawn, the stats will carry over so don't worry about "losing your progress."

Anyhow, here's a list of every combo:

1. Saber Force Power combos (Ranks 1 and 2 only):

  1. Saber Strike: :square:
  2. Makashi Strike: :square:, :square:

  7. Sith Saber Smash: :square:, :square:, :square:, :triangle: (also listed under Saber Force Power combos).
  8. Sith Slam: :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :triangle: (also listed under Saber Force Power combos BUT it is a Rank 3 combo there. Try it anyhow).

4. Force Grip Power combos: (Note: these were the last ones I used before the trophy unlocked)

  1. Force Grip: :r2: (hold)
  2. Grip Throw: :l3: or :r3: + release :r2:

  2. Charged Repulse: :l2: (hold) + :circle: (hold) (hold until he Repulses himself).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/49.jpgTo the Face! (B)

Reflect 20 missiles back at AT-MPs.

To reflect, timing is key. Tap L2 as soon as the missile approaches. For the trophy to count, it must not deflect, but reflect against the attacking AT-MP.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/50.jpgSpecialist (B)

Upgrade one Force power to Rank 3.

See “Maxed Out.”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/51.jpg Fully Charged(B)

Use an entire bar of Force power on a Lightning attack.

Simply hold the triangle button to use up all your Force. It has to be a full bar! Once you use up all your Force by holding triangle, you will unlock this trophy.

Challenges Walkthrough

These are the guides to the ten challenges. I underwent them myself and I got 9 gold and 1 platinum. I have also recorded the Challenges in HD and I have uploaded them for your convenience.

Challenge #1: The Combat Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 01:05 or more

+ Gold Medal: 00:55 - 01:04

+ Silver Medal: 00:45 - 00:54

+ Bronze Medal: 00:00 - 00:44

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r14KmSObqu4]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #1: The Combat Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This is the first challenge and, arguably, one of the most challenges. You need to execute a series of prompts as they appear on the screen. You do not have to hit the enemy; in fact, for the very last command I'd advise AGAINST that.

The way this challenge works is that every successful execution of the prompted command adds a few second. And so, by the time you finish the 26th, and final, command, you should have a lot of seconds to spare, which are counted towards the final result.

Note: This Trial unlocks after the Tutorial in the first level. With your Saber Force at Rank 1, this challenge will be much shorter, though the difficulty remains more or less the same. However, with less commands there will be less time to add, making the challenge a bit more difficult. In fact, even with :l1: and perfect execution of *every* command, unless you're extremely lucky you will almost always fall less than a second below the required time (though it IS still possible to get Gold Medal. I have tested it myself).

Here are some tips:

- The "pause" period should be no more than one second

- Holding :circle: will be required until the character jumps.

- Avoid using the combos against the droid; keep running in circles (as per the video) since the combo will be easier to execute against the air.

- Press :l1: to prompt the next combo or in case you mess up. But make sure not to dash off the platform.

Here are the commands. Try to pause or press the :ps: button to prep for the next command, though you will somehow memorise them (at least I did):

1. :square:, :square:, :square:

2. :cross:, :square:, :square:, :square:

3. :square:, :circle:

4. :square:, :triangle:

5. :square:, :square:, :circle:

6. :square:, :square:, :triangle:

7. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle:

8. :square:, :square:, :square:, :triangle:

9. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold)

10. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :square

11. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :circle:

12. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :triangle:

13. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :circle:

14. :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :triangle:

15. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:

16. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle:

17. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :triangle:

18. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold)

19. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :square:

20. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :circle:

21. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :triangle:

22. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :circle:

23. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :circle: (hold), :square:, :square:, :triangle:

24. :square:, :square:, (pause), :square:, :square:

25. :square:, :square:, :square:, (pause), :square:, :square:, :square:

26. :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, (pause), :square:, :square:, :square:, :square: (best done not against Android but AWAY from him).

Challenge #2: Kamino Drillgrounds Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 04:00 or more

+ Gold Medal: 03:00 - 03:59

+ Silver Medal: 02:00 - 02:59

+ Bronze Medal: 01:30 - 01:59

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Arq_e-z58Ls]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #2: Kamino Drillgrounds Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This challenge requires you preventing Stormtroopers from escaping. As soon as the 20th Stormtrooper escapes - the challenge ends. Clearly, the longer you prevent them from escaping, the more time you spend and the higher your score will be.

The trick is to anticipate where they come from and where they go. The area of the challenge is rectangular; the far left and far right corners are where the enemies spawn. Not to mention, there is a spawn point between both exits. There are 2 alternating but predictable waves of enemies. The trick is to go to the exit they're headed to, and prevent them from escaping by killing them (i.e. Force Lightning) but don't use Force Grip!! You might toss them into the exit and actually help them escape! Below is an image that Shanehi185 made that illustrates the pattern (blue and red represent the alternating waves):

http://i.imgur.com/7AGaPEp.jpg

As you can see, these two waves head to opposite directions, and the spawn point between both exits always spawn enemies but they head to the direction the given wave is headed.

Challenge #3: Deadly Path Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: less than 00:18

+ Gold Medal: 00:19 - 00:23

+ Silver Medal: 00:24 - 00:43

+ Bronze Medal: 00:44 - 01:00

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfpwCUVPjx0]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #3: Deadly Path Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

A fairly easy challenge. The challenge requires you to jump through moving platforms and reach the target within the time range. The trick here is to use Force Dash + Force Push. Try to skip every other platform and make your line as straight as possible to shave off more seconds and reach within the target time.

I suggest at first to ignore the time requirement and try to familiarize yourself with the area to design the path that is most suitable for you.

Challenge #4: Deflection Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 06:00 or more

+ Gold Medal: 04:00 - 05:59

+ Silver Medal: 02:00 - 03:59

+ Bronze Medal: 01:00 - 01:59

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XexivOpmGgs]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #4: Deflection Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This is a difficult challenge. Or so it seemed until I figured it out.

The challenge requires you to survive the onslaught of AT-MPs and their rockets, trying not to die or fall off the cliff. I spend hours at this challenge, dashing left and right, grabbing the missiles and tossing them back - I barely made it past 02:00.

Then I looked at the name and it hit me. The only way to win is to deflect. But this requires precision and perfect timing.

The way I did it was that as soon as the Challenge began, I went to the corner furthest from the AT-MPs. From there I began to deflect the missiles by tapping :l2:. Again, timing is required. My approach was to start tapping as soon as the missiles enter my "platform." Make no mistake, you will get hit, but with this method, you will kill far more AT-MPs, thus regenerating your health.

As you can see in the video, I was getting hit the first few seconds, that's because I was starting to tap the L2 button *too* late when the missile is well into my platform.

However, when the AT-STs appeared (the bigger machines), I immediately switched to Force Grip. The AI's prioritising of targets ensured that every missile I grab and throw back hits the AT-ST. As soon as the AT-ST is down, I resume my method of deflecting. I managed to make it to 5:00 before I got bored and jumped off the cliff to end the challenge and get my Gold Medal.

Challenge #5: Retrieval Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum Medal: 00:40 or less

+ Gold Medal: 00:41 - 00:50

+ Silver Medal: 00:51 - 01:10

+ Bronze Medal: 01:11 - 01:40

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VwUpDm-KBw]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #5: Retrieval Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This is arguably the hardest challenge in the game. In addition to the short time window and the moving platform, the challenge requires you to retrieve a Holocron AND then return to the starting point. Much like Challenge #2, you need to cut the distances, use Force Dash + Force Push whenever possible, try jumping onto every second platform.

Better yet, familiarise yourself with the area before you undertake the challenge.

Timing + luck + precision are key. You have to be in a certain place when a certain platform is at a certain location - that type of precision and luck.

It may be frustrating, but IT is possible.

Before you undertake the challenge, you need to know two things:

1) In lieu of the double jump + Force Dash, you can dash-jump-dash. Though the latter is faster and will cut the time immensely, it will require some practice.

2) Whenever you are on a moving platform, do NOT jump if the platform is moving in the opposite direction of where you're aiming to go - even with perfect jump, the jumping distance will be much shorter, making you fall (this is why, in the video, I wait until some of the platforms I'm on stop moving).

Challenge #6: Domination Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 00:55

+ Gold Medal: 00:56 - 01:30

+ Silver Medal: 01:31 - 02:00

+ Bronze Medal: 02:01 - 03:00

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqyZLBRFNME]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #6: Domination Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This and the subsequent challenges are much, much easier. So that's a relief.

This particular challenge is rather easy. It's like the Domination game in multiplayer. You guard a circle in the middle and fend off any enemies approaching it. There are two timers here - the score timer (55), and the timer that extends whenever an enemy enters your territory. To get a platinum, the max is the minimum - 55 seconds, i.e. no one should even be close to the territory. As such, don't bother getting the platinum and focus on getting the Gold Medal.

Fend off enemies with Force Repulse, or, if they're immune for Force Power, Grapple Attack 1 (:square: + :cross:). You'll most likely get a Gold Medal without even trying.

Challenge #7: Terror Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 01:15

+ Gold Medal: 01:30

+ Silver Medal: 01:40

+ Bronze Medal: 02:00

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I9-4JqdI9E]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #7: Terror Trial (Platinum Medal)[/ame]

This, in all honesty, is the easiest Challenge in the game. In fact, this is the Challenge that I recommend you get a Platinum Medal in to unlock the Platinum (S) Trophy (no, not *the* platinum (P) trophy, but a silver trophy titled "Platinum")

In this challenge, you will be in a small, crammed room. There will four waves of enemies - but only two types: terror spiders and terror troopers. Kill off the spiders using Force Repulse and use Force Lightning against the terror troopers to stun them, then kill them off with the Grapple Attack 1 (:square: + :cross:). I finished it in 01:05 minutes.

Challenge #8: The Cloning Spire Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 00:35 or less

+ Gold Medal: 00:34 - 00:25

+ Silver Medal: 00:24 - 00:15

+ Bronze Medal: 00:14 - 00:00

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NHKsPP6bNw]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #8: The Cloning Spire Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This is somewhat challenging but a) not as challenging as the first five challenges and b) very doable with a good tactic.

This trial involves destroying clone tanks. Much like the first trial, you have to keep the time increasing. With each platform with destroyed tanks you get 20 seconds extra. The trick is not to dash from one end of the platform to the other, but to go in circular motion and destroy each tank as it pops up.

In case you're about to jump to the next platform, but the last tank is across the platform your on, you can simply use Saber Throw then jump to the next platform instead of dashing to the tank and destroying it manually.

Challenge #9: Scout Trooper Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 00:30 or less

+ Gold Medal: 00:31 - 01:00

+ Silver Medal: 01:01 - 01:30

+ Bronze Medal: 01:31 - 03:00

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnaq_FqFfWg]YouTube - Star Wars: the Force Unleashed 2 / Challenge #9: Scout Trooper Trial (Gold Medal)[/ame]

This is fairly easy if you equip the Jedi Experimental Armor.

The challenge requires you to pass the path and collect holocrons in the face of scoping Scouts (the one with laser snipers) within a timeframe. There are some protection you can take from them.

1. First area: immediately dash, dash, dash until you get your first holocron and the Scouts will disappear.

2. Second area: there are turquoise-colored squares on the ground. Stepping on them will raise a barrier to protect you from the Scouts spining at you. Use them for a VERY QUICK protection as you snatch the two holocrons.

3. Third area: run and dash behind the boulders as they protect you from the Scouts - but make sure to grab the holocron in the middle of that area quickly. You are bound to be hit; just don't die.

4. Fourth area: you will see small platforms leading to a larger one (the end of the Challenge). However, on each platform a Scout will spawn just before you approach it so pre-empt them with Force Lightning.

5. Final area: Once you jump over the platforms, immediately run/dash/jump and dash/whatever to get to the Blue marker as there are five Scouts waiting to stop you from winning.

With this method you should make it in 50 seconds or so - enough room for trial and error.

Challenge #10: Gauntlet Trial

Awards:

+ Platinum medal: 03:30

+ Gold Medal: 03:00 - 03:29

+ Silver Medal: 02:30 - 02:59

+ Bronze Medal: 00:00 - 02:29

The trial is the final one, and it is quite easy. The trial is timed by a COUNTDOWN is separated into four, separate areas, each with their own enemies. Killing all the enemies in one area will unlock the next are and add 15-20 seconds to the timer.

The trial doesn't end after you kill the fourth wave; you have to wait for a few seconds for the wall to disappear, then make a quick run/dash to the blue flash marker.

Word of advice: do NOT do the QTE as it takes time. Just finish them off.

The areas are as follows:

1. First area: here you will find the carbonite war droid and a bunch of other enemies. First, remove the droid's shield with R2, then start electrocuting him and the other enemies. Take them out one by one then start hitting the droid with Saber Throw - 5-7 hits with it and he is down (with the :cross: on his head). Don't start QTE, just finish him off with a few hits of Saber + Lightning combo.

2. Second area: Jumptroopers flying around and a spider-like droid. Unleash a huge wave of Force Lightning, try to take down all the jumptroops. Now start hitting the droid from afar with Saber Throw. 5-7 hit and he is down. Attack him to finish him off. Again, avoid QTE.

3. Third area: Scouts and an incinerator war droid. First off, kill off the three or so Scouts with Force Lightning, then remove the droid's shield with :r2:. Again, avoid his attacks and use Saber Throw against him, 5-7 hits and he's down. Finish him off then quickly proceed to the final area.

4. Fourth area: terror troopers an Sith acolytes. Unleash a massive and long Force Lightning against them all to stun them. Then start taking them down one by one with Grapple Attack 1 (:square: + :circle:). There should be three or four of each. Once they're dead, immediately head/dash to the end to finish off the final Challenge and, hopefully, unlock the Champion (G) trophy.

You may want to add the Charged Saber Throw to your list of things needed to do for the combos. That was what finally unlocked my Aww Yeahh trophy.

EDIT: Also, you should add that the Strike! trophy will be known right away because it makes a sound effect that of a bowling ball hitting pins.

Kill 10 enemies with the lightning towers.

In the “Kamino: the Confrontation” level (the last level), you start off by walking through a passageway outdoors, in the rain. There are a lot of stormtroopers and a number of large electrical coils lining the walkway. Simply use Force Grip to grab an enemy and launch him into the coil. Do it 10 times to unlock this trophy.

I'm sorry, but this is incorrect. The Confrontation level starts off with you walking down a hazy corridor with random Vader ambushes, and leads to the fight with Vader amongst the clone vats.

I know. Give me a moment I need a major overhaul since I got some of the level names wrong. xD

nice guide, but the 3rd step in your roadmap is unnecessary. after the first playthrough, holocrons and XP can all be obtained in the Unleashed playthrough (via chapter select). once finished, youll be left with over 100k+ of surplus XP.

Actually, it is necessary. Maybe not for XP, but certainly for other trophies, as in the Unleashed playthrough, even with all the upgrades, the enemies will be pinning you down left and right as you try to go after the other trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/397/25.jpg Jedi Bomb Squad (B)

Remove all of the terror spider bombs on the Salvation.

Terror spider bombs are not “bombs” per se, though they are pesky. This trophy overlaps with the “Arachnophobia” trophy. However, this particular one requires you to destroy all of them in the sixth level.

This trophy only requires that you kill the room full of the little red exploding variety of spider droids in the one side room. Not sure if they count towards "Arachnophobia" or not, but it's important to note that you're not looking for regular terror spider droids.

This seriously doesn't make any sense. On level 1, I'm using only Force powers. Spamming :triangle:, :circle: and :r2:. Why the hell am I not getting this trophy. DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!

I found out that in this level, if you so much as use the Saber, the trophy will be nullified AND Exit + Continue will NOT work for this particular trophy, so you'll have to start from scratch via Level Select.

Also, using the Saber is really a force of habit, you might use it without realizing it (at least I did), so be EXTRA careful and just spam :triangle:.

One last thing. When you take the droids down, do NOT use the QTE as that will sometime use the Saber.

Did you Exit + Continue?

No, I just did on my regular save the level select on level 1. And went through the entire thing just spamming force lightning, force push, and force grip. Then at the very end I decided to do a force repulse and then the level ended and I finally got it. I did it a total of 4 times and that was the only time I added a force repulse. Maybe you have to use all of your force abilities. Who knows?

Didn't know that you actually *HAD* to use all four (I got the trophy. I randomized but didn't know it was a requirement). Thanks for the tip, will add to the guide and credit!

Well technically, if you have to use all of the force abilities, you'd have to use 5 since the Mind Trick is one of them (I do believe). However, in level 1, you have to do it so it doesn't matter if you use it during the level or not.

At least this is all speculation.

Good to know.

I actually went through the game on another account again and now have three pages worth of notes x_x (I have a litigation exam soon yet I worked on the guide). I need to fix my priorities.

Right now I'm adding A LOT of notes to the guide, tips I learned after having re-earned many of the trophies. Everything will be "done" by tonight hopefully.
