I've made a guide about making equipment maximizing DEF, ATK and HP to everybody.

Even Faize can be powerful.

off topic a bit, in your guide you said "Run away from standard battles as it also counts to his 3000 fights trophy." I don't think this is the case since my battle counter doesn't change when I flee.

That is correct. Battle counter doesn't change but it does count.
I've got the trophy before I've got 3000 on the counter.
In other hand, if you got double/triple fight your battle counter change by 2 but it does add only 1 fight to his 3000 fights trophy.

I can be wrong as I've got this trophy a year ago.

I'm pretty sure you're right C1Rex. You can flee from battle. However, if you're doing Edge 30k kills with a turbo controller, it's pretty easy to just keep faize in the party and you'll automate the 3000 fights too.

I used your guide for my Faize playthrough in universe moide. It's cheap and effective. & you don't have to meet santa many times Didn't really want to farm too much just for a playthrough I don't care about.

In my chaos playthrough though, I used everyone's BEST equipment (the ones with highest stats). I even managed to put a few GRD in some extra slots on the armor of some characters who no longer need HP or defense boosts xD, and atleast 2 increase crits in my weapons. probably did 7-8 trips to santa for tri embelms, and 1 trip to EQ to get World's Biggest Welch Fan and an extra feather in chaosxD

Everything is a matter of opinion.

I believe that GRD has no use. I try to keep it possibly low actually.
In my opinion it just slows everything down. With max DEF your party is nearly immortal and taking 1 digit damage is not a problem. Only supernova can kill you but it cannot be blocked anyway. It can be survived however with good stats, factors and some luck. Other than that, there is nothing that can harm you.

Guarding just stops your actions. Fights take more time.
I focused on getting max DEF (most important) ATK and HP saving slots for extra factors. I decided on Rush + X witch stacks and add bonus to offensive and defensive properties of your team.

"Increases chance of surviving incap via fury" stacks and rise your chance of surviving supernova.

As far as I know Critical Hit doesn't stack.

You can always do the no-supernova strategy in galaxy, so imo, surviving incap wount be used that much. It'd be very useful in universe and chaos against EQ though.

GRD can be pretty useful in universe/chaos since most enemies are hitting you

Lots of people say critical hits stack, but there are also a lot of people who say it does not stack. Since my ATK was already maxed, I just decided to add 2 crit factors. Whether I got more crits with that... I dont know. I just hope that the case

About Critical Hit:
Critical Hit Factor Testing Results - Star Ocean: The Last Hope Message Board for Xbox 360 - GameFAQs

Technically it does stack. Practically 1% increase for 1 slot may not be worth it. Matter of preference in my opinion. I prefer saving slots for other factors.

Most people say that the only way to block supernova is to use Energy Shield and lots of luck.
GRD theory + question - Star Ocean: The Last Hope - GameSpot Forums

I would like to see how 9999GRD works.
making lymle untouchable? - Star Ocean: The Last Hope Message Board for Xbox 360 - GameFAQs
Is somebody able to test that on Chaos?

Always have lots of resurrection units on hand, those will really help & if anyone is gunning for that Lymle #100 BT I found the best swap in point was when EQ starts absorbing MP.

Thanks to the guide I finally got the plat trophy on this.
Congrats! Maybe one day I'll actually get the plat, too.

Man, this guide has gotten more action in the last month than it did in the previous year. Whodathunkit?

I might make a few changes in regards to CIREX's posts. In particular, upon further review, I don't think GRD is all that great (although I would probably still use the items that raise everything 5% on mages).

I stand by critical hits, though. There are LOTS of hits in a long battle, so even an extra few percentage points will make a difference.

I always put 1 Critical hit on weapons. If you decide to put more you need to trade ATK/INT/DEF/HIT/GRD +5% which is the only factor boosting DEF on weapons.
To balance that you may need to trade some factors from other equipment.
I don't see 1% boost worth more than DEF, HP, ATK or Rush factors.

If you would like to use Beat S for extra damage on blinded enemies and fast boss kills then you probably would get more from more Rush + X factors.

Oh, so it stacks xD
So I guess the extra 1% on crit was really helpful on my quest to get World's Biggest Welch Fan trophy and an extra feather for safe keeping in chaos.

even with 9999 DEF, almost all of the time (90%), EQ will still kill your character in a single attack (not hit) in chaos (not talking about the supernova btw) Even if resurrected by fury, there's still no stopping her from killing you with her follow-up combos.

I've thought of doing a 9999 GRD on some of my characters before, but never I decided to try it. It seems like a bad idea though. IDK, it's just me.

do your characters become untouchable with 9999 GRD in galaxy? even against EQ?
