They could always have an exemption rule for that type of thing based on the length/time missed for that player.

1% is about 20 million isn't it? Pretty big if you ask me. Also, it seems like the middle exemption, sign and trades for teams over the cap, and the salary cap level are a bigger issue right now from what I read on various sites.

I don't do twitter nor do I follow it but I thought this was funny from Stephon Marbury

Fan "Hearing Mike Jordan is going real gangsta on the players"
Marbury "Mike has never been with the real. Mike lives up there in the air up there. He can't come down, Mickey mouse style not bugs"

seems that players are a little more willing to go 50/50, if the owners give up something. What? I dont know. But its things like that fixed the NFL. Owners might want to look at that.

What forced(?) a relatively quick solution for the NFL was the fact that the union decertified. That and money. U.S. District Judge David Doty's ruling that the TV contact that would have paid NFL owners even if games were not played violated the NFL's collective bargaining agreement with the NFL Players Association really hurt the owners.

For the NBA, I don't know what would work. Seems like the owners want their cake and eat it too. Possibly players as well.

well yeah that help a lot also. Seems now that the players ARE ready to do 50/50 with changes in other places

yes, my money was refunded a day or two before the game was supposed to happen.

this whole thing is just crazy, watching a bunch of millionaires/billionaires sit around and argue about money. i definitely agree that fair is fair, but they all need to realize that them acting like a bunch of children and throwing temper tantrums is gonna effect a lot of people/businesses in an already suffering economy. there needs to be compromise on both sides and get this mess over with already!

I don't think the players will win the courts. Even with the last proposal they still were the highest paid out of the major sports.
