I totally agree with you. The game library for the PS2 was amazing. It's also incredible that they're still making games for it. The most recent PS2 game I bought was Ratchet: Deadlocked. I bought this game just 3 months ago because it was only $10. It's still a great console and I play it too, but I still play my PS3 more.

For all the love I have for my old ps1s and ps2s, it is the ps3 hands down. I'm a netflix user, so on these cold winter nights(ty 2ft of snow this week, sigh) being stuck in the house, its not just a video game system like the ps1&2 were its a media device. I no longer watch cable except for new shows and sports, most of which are available on hulu anyway so that may be going soon too. oh AND I can still play my old ps1 games. only thing that'd make it better is if I could play my ps2 games too.

Like many, I've owned all three consoles. And yes, the PS3 is my favourite by far.
The PS1 was great back in the days, lots of good memories with that one. Nothing else needs to be said really. The PS2 was a bit of a let down for me personly. These was in the days when I played a lot on my PC, and to be honest, even if the PC is still superior when it comes to graphics, (although I prefer a console over any PC today, mainly beacause the "easy approach" and big HD-screens), these days - the difference was huge. Games just didn't look that good on the PS2 compared to the PC. (Except from GT4 etc). Also, the games themselfes weren't that interesting to me. I've hade by this time grown out of the arcade-style games of the PS1 like Cool Boarders/Tony Hawk etc, never been that interested in JRPG:s, and my favourite genre - FPS, wasn't really huge on consoles back then. The PS3 on the other hand, actually has everything. (Although I gotta say there's a lot to improve in the future speaking in terms of user enviroment/software). It can be used as a media center. You can browse the internet. It's got great games. You can go hardcore, and play to reach the top rankings in any FPS; (hope to go level 50 in BC2 this spring, finally), or you can just sit back and enjoy the playstation move and/or the sing star type of games together with friends who aren't into gaming at all. You can buy the latest chart buster, put the disc in your console, and start to play within minutes. Or you can search the PSS for more independent, great gems that few people know about. Love this console, really.
