Besides the fact that games would cost me nothing.

As far as the HD Collections go, I'll probably take that route for some of the franchises. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to pay $40 for 3 PS2 games "at this stage of the PS2's life". I realize they are remastered, but I'd rather save the money and play the originals. Too many other relevant games I can be spending money on.

Yeah, but you're still not supporting the developers by modding. It may make a very minimal difference to their revenue but that revenue matters because if they don't get income, they can't make more awesome games for you to enjoy.

Most people buy remastered editions for the trophies.

I bought my PS2 in 2003 and have never unplugged it. I still buy new games to it also, have missed many great games that I know will never be remastered to HD.

im buying a ps2 just so I can play all the fatal frame games I never got a chance to enjoy, since I dont see those games coming in an HD collection anytime soon if at all

I played on my PS2 a few months ago, I FINALLY bought my own copy of GTA: Vice City. Years back I watched my brother playing it and I occasionally played it. I loved the gameplay and music, only now got it myself.

I also keep it for other nostalgic PS2 games, or games I had on Gamecube and then re-bought on PS2.

Some of my PS2 games are Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Spider-Man 2, Soul Calibur II, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and GTA: San Andreas.
