Oil Ocean and Metropolis for me.

They were nasty levels when I played Sonic 2 the first time around, and are still a pain now.

Metropolis Zone, with Oil Ocean being a close second. Out of all the zones, why did Metropolis Zone needed to have 3 acts? It's such an annoying zone. Sky Chase Zone is a breath of fresh air after Metropolis Zone.

Mystic Cave for me because of the bloody death pits, and those green piston things that always love to catch you and kill you when you're trying to speed through the area.

Oil Ocean act 2 gets special mention for always confusing me midway, making me thinking I'm possibly backtracking/going the wrong way.


Wing Fortress is annoying for the reason that you can't just speed through it unless you like falling to your death a lot. Final boss is cheap for the reason being no coins. One hit and you're out.

Metropolis and Oil Ocean..... brings back bad memories, much falling to instaant death. Spinning bolts and confusing level layout.

Mystic Cave with that pit in act 2 where you can't escape from.

Also, having super sonic on the wing fortress and being forced to use him when you jump is hell with the precise jumping sections.
