Introduction

This is my first time writing a playthrough on a game, so if I make any spelling/grammar mistakes, please feel free to message me and I will fix/correct it as soon as possible. Otherwise, thank you everyone for reading this strategy guide. All trophies can be obtained through a single playthrough. If for some reason you may have missed any collectibles, such as a treasure chest, hat, or Soul Gem, you can be able to acquire it again via Chapter Select from the Pause menu.

Once you purchase the game, you will be required to insert the 3 AA batteries located underneath your Portal Of Power (the white platform with the different inscriptions all around the edge) as well as attach the USB, also underneath the platform, into your PlayStation 3, then lastly to turn on the power, indicated by a small, black square button close to the base of the platform. For more details in regards to troubleshooting, please read the instructions manual provided with the game.

There are a total of 32 different Skylanders to collect. Of the 32, there are 8 different elements of which correspond to a designated Skylander (you can call them creatures if you may) which are as follow:

Earth: Bash, Terrafin, Dino-Rang, Prism Break
Tech: Drobot, Drill Sergeant, Boomer, Trigger Happy
Undead: Cynder, Hex, Chop Chop, Ghoster Roaster
Leaf: Camo, Zook, Stealth Elf, Stump Smash
Fire: Sunburn, Eruptor, Ignitor, Flameslinger
Magic: Spyro, Voodood, Double Trouble, Wrecking Ball
Air: Whirlwind, Sonic Boom, Warnado, Lightning Rod
Water: Zap, Slam Bam, Gill Grunt, Wham-Shell

However, you DO NOT need to possess all 32 Skylanders in order to platinum the game. 3 Skylanders are available by default which are Spyro, Gill Grunt, and Trigger Happy, so they shoube be sufficient enough to platinum the game.


Step1. Battle Mode:

When I first inserted the game, my older brother wanted to try out first, just to see the mechanics of the game, and he was able to get the first trophy on the game just by coincidence: The First Battle. Simply plug in an additional controller, them choose any match and place 2 out of the 3 starter Skylanders on the Portal Of Power, finish the match regardless of whether you win or lose, to receive you first bronze.


Step 2. Adventure Mode:

During this process, you can be able to experiment with the 3 starter Skylanders (Spyro, Gill Grunt or Trigger Happy) to see which one fits your style of play. Additionally, you can have another player join your game by pressing then pressing if you want to remove him from play.

Here you will earn all story-related trophies simply by going through the adventure mode:
Hello Skylander!!, Home Sweet Home, Fresh Air, Pure Water, Mother Earth, Light Of Life, Perfect Technology, Undead Spirit, Dancing Fire, Magic Time, The Savior as well as Chompy Chopper, Happy Hour and Inside Power. By the time you finish the game, your character should be level 10 from defeating the enemies which will net you your second gold trophy, Climb To The Top. Lastly, equip one hat on your character for Fashion Stylist

Once you complete the second chapter, Perilous Pastures, Cali will be available for heroic challenges. each Skylander has their own challenge, but anyone can be able to complete all challenges. once you complete 3 of them you will earn New Challenger along with Can't Stop Me!

After chapter 3, Persephone will become available for purchasing upgrades in exchange for gold, and will net you both I Love Shopping and Gotta Buy Them All but you will need to find the Soul Gem in a designated level to purchase the last upgrade.


Step 3. Clean Up:

Once the story is complete, you can use Chapter Select to replay the required stage for the level-related trophies: Phew! That was Close!, Dodge Ball, Call Me Fireman!, Tag Me If You Can!, One For All!, The Ace Pilot, No Rocket Fired!, Leviathan Dentist, I Love Smashing!, Mine Detector, Get Me If You Can!. None of these should be too difficult once your Skylander is maxed out and has all upgrades purchased. As well you can be able to finish collecting 10 hats, 10 treasure chests,10 Soul Gems and 10 story scrolls for Fashion Elite, Treasure-hunter, The Spiritual Mentor and Archaeologist.

Hello Skylander!!
The first time you put your Skylander on the Portal of Power.

Story-related and cannot be missed. Once you insert your game disc, the game will promt you to attach the USB (located on the bottom of the platform which you will need a (+) screwdriver to remove) into the PS3, insert the batteries into the proper slot of the Portal, and press the square button located above the green edging on the base on the platform. For troubleshooting, please refer to the instructions manual located inside the game case.



Home Sweet Home
Complete the Shattered Island level.

Story-related and cannot be missed. The fellow mole villagers meed your help in evacuating the town after Kaos has destroyed almost everything in sight. This is where you will start learning the basics of combat, as well as unlocking doors, using the cannons to destroy walls, elemental gates, treasures, and pushing giant turtles to create pathways that lead to the next area/ complete the level.



Fresh Air
Complete the Stormy Stronghold level and acquire the elemental source.

Story-related and cannot be missed. There is a large twister emerging from the middle of the map containing the Eternal Air Source and you need to rebuild the bridge that is trapped inside the twister. There are 4 lightning pylons that need to be lowered for the bridge to be rebuilt. Approach it and rotate the in a clockwise motion. Once complete, proceed to the end and defeat all enemies to receive your first Elemental Source.



Pure Water
Complete the Leviathan Lagoon level and acquire the elemental source.

Story-related and cannot be missed. There are 4 statues scattered across the level and you need to bring them all back to the shrine to reveal the Eternal Water Source. On the way to retrieve the last statue, you need to jump in the cannon and destroy the flags that navigate the ship, which will crash in between the 2 islands, thus making a bridge to travel through it. You will get eaten by the Leviathan as you try to reach out for the Source. Professor Kaos makes his appearance and you will be faced with your first boss, Evil Zap (a water dragon with scuba gears on his back if you want to call it that). He will start to charge at you and shoot out small bursts of water to hit you, simply avoid them and use your or moves to beat him down, whom will award you with a food item and some experience points. Kaos begins to summon his DEADLY SHARK BATH OF DOOOOOOOMSHARKS! All of the walls will be engulfed by a waterfall and sharks will scroll down in a somewhat linear-like pattern that you need to avoid, otherwise you will lose a chunk of health. Keep in mind, though, that you can regain health back by near-missing the sharks. This will be indicated when they begin to slow down and, if successful, will pop up a green heart beside the shark, gaining 11 health back. After about 20-30 seconds the sharks will dissappear and Kaos will send out his second minion, Evil Gill Grunt. The only difference between yours and his is that he will shoot out 3 harpoons at a time, then taunt you into attacking him. He does not use his power hose, but will fall back a couple of steps to shoot out more harpoons from afar when you go up close in his personal space. Once defeated, Kaos will send out his second wave of sharks, the DEADLIER SHARK BATH OF DOOOOOOOMSHARKS!! One row of sharks will appear on both sides of the character, then a continuous on both sides follow suit. Here the sharks will swim accros to the other row one at a time, giving you space to maneuver around them, then slowly will turn into 3 or more at a time. Try your best to gain near-misses as they will heal you for 11 health each shark. Again, they will dissappear after a short amount of time, and Kaos will send in his last evil minion, Evil Slam-Bam (a four-armed ice yeti). He will follow a pattern that consist of walking at you, pounding his chest, shoot ice balls from his arm, walk and pound his chest again, then start to swing 2 of his arms as if he was swatting away flies. Acknowledging your skills in one-on-one combat, Kaos will send out all 3 minions at once, then gradually summon his sharks again. Defeat the 3 with utmost haste, and the sharks will disappear as well. The Eternal Water Source will be yours, as well as the trophy.



Mother Earth
Complete the Stone Town level and acquire the elemental source.




Light of Life
Complete the Falling Forest level and acquire the elemental source.




Perfect Technology
Complete the Battlefield level and acquire the elemental source.




Undead Spirit
Complete the Creepy Citadel level and acquire the elemental source.




Dancing Fire
Complete the Lava Lakes Railway level and acquire the elemental source.



Magic Time
Complete the Arkeyan Armory level and acquire the elemental source.



The Savior
Complete the adventure mode by finishing the game.



Star Chaser
Get 3 stars in any one level.



Phew! That was close!
In the Leviathan Lagoon level, dodge 30 sharks without being hit.



Dodge Ball
In the Falling Forest level, defeat Evil Ent while more than 5 of Evil Ent's seeds are on the field.



Call Me Fireman!
Defeat Kaos' Evil minions in the Lava Lakes Railway level with only Gill Grunt's Power Hose.



Tag me if you can!
Avoid being hit by the laser traps during the boss fight in the Creepy Citadel level.



One for All!
Defeat Kaos without swapping Skylanders during the battle.



The Ace Pilot
Defeat 30 enemies while riding the War Machine in the Arkeyan Armory level.



No Rocket Fired!
Never use any rocket in the Falling Forest level.



Leviathan Dentist
Get swallowed by the Leviathan 5 times in the Leviathan Lagoon level.



I love smashing!
Destroy all of the rocks in the Molekin Mine level.

Once you have access to the mining pick, ignore the mole people that are trapped in the mine and just explore every path that is blocked by the rocks, flick the forwards/backwards about 4-5 times to destroy the rock. Make sure not to push the injured mole in the cart to the entrance(somehow he injured his foot and is unable to walk to safety) or else you will have to use chapter select and finish the level again.

Mine Detector
Complete the Troll Warehouse level without getting injured by the landmines.

ALmost at the end of the level, the mole will tell you that you need to find a map in order to reveal the exact layout of the mines that the trolls have buried in the ground. Simply follow the dotted line shown and TAKE YOUR TIME! the last thing you need is to redo the level after you accidentally triggered a mine and losing a portion of your health.The trophy will appear after the chapter is finished. If it does not appear, that means you got him by the mines and will have to go to chapter select to reach the mines again.



Get me if you can!
Complete the Crystal Eye Castle level without being hit by any of the rolling barrels.



New Challenger
Complete your first challenge level!



Can't stop me!
Complete 3 Challenge levels.

I love shopping
The first time you purchase an upgrade for your Skylander.

The upgrades will be available once you complete the Stormy Stronghold level. Flynn asks to take it easy and talk to Persephone to see what the next plan of action is. She will unlock a set of gates that lead to a set of stones. She explains that there are upgrades available for your Skylander in exchange for gold coins. Buy any upgrade, and return to Flynn to continue on with the story. Keep in mind that Persephone also tells you about the strange blue butterflies floating around the exploration island (that's the island you start off at where you choose where to go for your next objective). There are 10 butterflies to collect, with each butterfly giving you 2% discount, for a total of 20% once all have been found. This will not affect negatively on the other Skylanders that you switch out during gameplay as it is all under one saved file, so each Skylander can be able to purchase their upgrades at a cheaper price. The final upgrade needed may be the skill which requires the collected Soul Gem for the Skylander which is located in a specific level of the story, which can be collected at any time throughout your clean up run.

Climb to the Top
Level up any one Skylander to level 10.

This will come naturally as you progress though the story. If for some reason you reach level 10 and the trophy does not appear, it means the skylander is already registered under another owner. If this is the case, press , press twice to highlight the manage section and choose the ownership option. follow the instructions from there and you should be able to obtain the gold trophy.



Fashion Elite
Collect 10 Hats.

Fashion Stylist
Have your Skylander equip a hat for the first time.

Inside Power
Unlock any Elemental Gate.

Each level has 1-5+ elemental gates, each varying from either a hat, treasure, story scroll or a Soul Gem. Switch to the Skylander of the indicated element and walk through the portal. Don't worry you will not fall down the level. The gate will remain unlocked and you can switch back to your primary character at any point. continue along the unlocked path and you will find a treasure chest, soul gem, story scroll or a present box containing a hat which you can equip to earn Fashion Stylist by pressing then highlighting manage and choosing the unlocked hat to give you a status benefit.



Chompy Chopper
Defeat 15 Chompies in the Shattered Island level.

In Shattered Islands level, you will approach your first locked gate with a shield and one or two swords going through the middle. Onthe other side of the gate the mole will tell you that in order to proceed further you have to kill the enemies that spawn in your area. The enemies will be the Chompies: a small, green like creature with sets of teeth that kind of look like piranhas.. A counter will appear on the top right corner of the screen indicating the amount of Chompies left to kill. once the number reaches 15, you will earn this trophy, as well as the gate unlocking to move on.



Happy Hour
Open any treasure chest.

Collect 10 Story Scrolls.

Treasure-hunter
Collect 10 Legendary Treasures.

The Spiritual Mentor
Collect 10 Soul Gems.

The First Battle
Play and complete any PvP match: win or lose.

In the main menu, highlight and select Battle mode. The game will notify you to plug in a second controller. Then select from one of the three battle matches available (the game will explain what to do in regards to the match you have selected). Place your second skylander on the Portal of Power, and let your main Skylander win or lose the match. Once the match is over, you will earn this trophy.

Is this confirmed? This means that you need to buy/borrow another 2-5 figures (of elements different from the 3 included in the starter) to achieve a couple of the trophies, and to eventually get a platinum.

Thank you for informing me of the mistake. This is my first time writing a guide, so please give me some respect as I am trying to correct any/all errors that others may encounter while reading this thread.
