Any advice for this track? Its the one with a lot of hairpin turns. I'm using the MX Z Renegade 800 upgraded, but I'm 2 secs slower per lap. I've golded all the unlocked tracks so far, nothing else is open. I can't seem to take the hairpins as smoothly as the AI. I even tried the six axxis control to lean forward during turning, but that didn't work.
p.s. I can see why people who like Motorstom like this game. Your vehicle jumps around half out of control and the AI loves to take you out.

Thanks for the help. I think I've figured it out, I just suck at this game!
I am really struggling with the last few tracks and double flips, even with all of the good advice on this site. Haven't given up quite yet though...

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. I didn't bother with the Summit Sled because that is primarily for hill races, not XC. In order to beat this race, I got the final sled and maxed out the upgrades. Learning to drive on ice was the key, regardless of the sled.
You have to repeatedly tap both your L stick and R2. If you hold down either for too long, you will spin out. When in doubt, make small adjustments. This can be hard to remember, especially when you are about to win on the last turn and your adrenaline (not the game's) is flowing. Favor the gas, as it seems to make you grip the ice better. Make small turn adjustments, then use the gas to pull yourself back into line. FIRST TURN: Hang back a bit, then bounce off the AI bots to make the left hand turn. Slow down before the first jump! Otherwise you will crash into the sign and lose your lead. FINAL TURN: The L2 pattern I found myself using on the final turn was: tap, tap, tap, tap, long tap. I would feather the gas with each L2 tap, then floor it on the final long tap. Leaning forward on the sled helped somewhat, but this was not the key to maintaining control of the turn; acceleration was. If you are having problems on the ice, just spend time in that section. Let the other racers pass you, then drive backward to the problematic section and practice those turns. Driving in reverse (L2) will not generate the "You are going the wrong way!" timer, but you only move at 12 mph. The key is using acceleration, I think. This game does not follow real world physics, and acceleration seems to be a magic bullet to correcting some ice slides. It does not make sense to me, which is why I struggled so much. Tap L2 corrections to your steering, and feather the gas to pull yourself around the turn. I hope this helps someone else, because I had to do this, my final gold race, well over 60 times. Ice is horrible.
