So, I just made my 10-Star Run mid-game save. I have 61 Fighting Kills, 23 Shooting Kills, plenty of Shotgun ammo, and approximately 3/4 of a health bar damage beyond the damage done before the rooftop (which many posit is nullified by the rooftop attack). Oh, and my time is 70 minutes.
I'm pretty confident on all parameters except for health. I really hate the Doorman boss, and I'm not really sure if I've taken too much damage at this point. How much lee-way is there? It's been 8 years since I did this the first time, and I seem to recall that between the Doorman and Eddie, I'll take at least 3 full bars of damage. Thoughts? From those who have done it, how much non-boss damage can you allow?

Hey Duck360,
Thanks for posting up the videos and explanation of each part. It is really helping me on my way to 10-stars. I have one question, if I use only shotgun after the hospital part (assuming I haven't used it at all yet), will I run out of ammo while outside? Last edited by Saiho; 04-02-2012 at 12:46 PM. |

Don't forget that you have to collect all items and go to every X road once outside of the hospital , also don't save on top of the first save just in case .

I will visit all the dead ends. But I have read some 10-star walkthrough on Gamefaqs.com and they suggested revisiting every street in order to respawn monsters. Is this necessary? If so, how far do I have to leave the street in order for them to respawn? I hope there is enough for all 75 shooting kills in the streets without respawning because that seems to take a lot of time if you need to revisit every street. Ok, just got my platinum on Silent Hill 2 and I gotta say, this has been a painful experience, and quite possibly one of the hardest plat's I've tried to get just because of the 10-star run.
I made it to Eddie with about 450pts of damage so there was no way that I could follow through with the way Duck360 did the fight. The way I killed Eddie (without getting hit even once) was by doing what Duck360 did in the 1st room with the iron pipe and hold R2+X, but the second room is where it was a bit of learning experience for me. If you hang into the far back-left there's a piece of meat next to a portion of wall that's different from the rest. What I did here was, with the hunting rifle equipped, immediately ran in between the wall and the meat and waited for Eddie to try to hit me, from there I ran to the opposite side of the meat from Eddie and he proceeded to walk in counter clockwise from the meat and then walked straight along side the metal-grated fence. While he walks along side the meat run up behind him and just start unloading into the back of his head (you usually only get one shot on target since James sucks, but sometimes you can manage to get all 4 shots). After enough time; Eddie will swing at you but instead of walking away, keep running after punching the meat. Here is where it gets a little tricky... You have to rush up right in-front of Eddie after circling the meat and shoot him in the face as he's turning away from you. If you shoot before he turns, he'll just punch you. If you shoot too late, you'll either miss or he'll run up to you and punch you. Also for the boat portion; the MOMENT that you get on the boat turn both your left and right analog sticks counter clock-wise 8.5 to 9 full turns and quickly change to an outward turning motion with both analog sticks (left stick counter clockwise, right stick clockwise) if you can do the first part as fast as you can and switch to moving forward flawlessly; you will ALWAYS be aiming directly at the light and come in at anywhere from 1m00s to 1m15s depending on how fast you can push the boat forward. Thanks again Duck360, your youtube videos have been a lifesaver, and so have your comments (i was youtube user wantnotwant) and this thread. edit: please note that if you try my way of killing Eddie without taking damage; only shoot at Eddie if he was WALKING in a counter-clockwise motion from the meat. If he walks clockwise or away from the meat in any other way, the moment you shoot him 9x out of 10 he will turn around a shoot you in the face. Last edited by NeoZiedrich; 04-02-2012 at 10:09 PM. |

Thanks newziedrich , I tried that method but it didn't work with me then I found out about the sword , I hope it works with them , you should have restarted cause it was super hard for you to reach eddie with 450 damages
