10 Stars ranking requirements (for the Green Hyper Spray)

This looks to be one of the most difficult platinums I've attempted since ICO. Seriously, what's up with HD collections and rediculously difficult trophies/speed runs?

Why not? If the people who are purchasing these games include long-time fans that want newer versions of their favorite games (as well as to achieve trophies on their favorite games), why not give them a challenge? I appreciate it . s should be a badge of honor, not just handed to you.

My personal problem is so many of these HD collections are just way to buggy. The SH HD Collection sure is, Prince of Persia HD Collection was, Ico/SOTC HD Collection had it's moments, etc. If they are going to extra mile to invest upscaling these classics games, I'd like to think they'd work out the problems too ...


Can anyone please help me confirm whether or not you NEED to only have 2 or less saves in order to get the 10-Star Rank? Like I said before, this game has froze on me TWICE now (first time wasn't important, second time was in the middle of HARD/HARD and trying to get the 10-Star Rank), and if I can save more often to protect my current progress, that'd be a load off my mind.

I really don't appreciate having to speed-run through the game while thinking, "Please don't freeze on me, please don't freeze on me..." ...

That's correct. Only 2 or less saves.

You absolutely need to have 2 or less saves. When you get your results screen, the different statistics can be white or yellow. If you earn maximum points for that part, it will be displayed in yellow. Absolutely, positively 2 saves or less.

Oh, I agree with you on the whole badge of honor thing, I wouldn't be here if I didn't have eyes for s, and I'm still going to attempt it. I was just calling attention to how all the HD collections use the same formula. SH2 is definitely the most demanding platinum I've encountered so far and it will be some time before I'm ready. I'm still doing cleanup on Downpour atm, and I'll bounce to something else when I need a break. When my collection was already growing faster then my trophy case, it's just a little too daunting right now, especially since I still have SOTC and Metal Gear 2 and 3 to think about.

If you already own the MGS HD Collection I'd say go with MGS3 first. It can be done in the span of a day and is not that difficult.

I won't dare even try this until they patch the game. Even Downpour froze on me twice, and the complaints on that game are nothing compared to what the collection is getting.

The best way to go is maybe to save at each red square to unlock all endings first
to prevent any freeze (you won't lose much game progress if shit happens).

Then try the 10 stars one and pray...
