Default Is a guide needed???

So I hear this is a pretty easy plat although I don't see a lot of people playing it. Is a guide needed for this game? Is there a trophy for collectables? It was just sent to me from Gamefly and wanted to know before I started to play.

Yes there are collectables, and they are needed to 100% each level.

No guide needed. I was able to find every collectable just buy being sure to check every nook and crany on your second time around. You will have to replay most levels to get everything, but you dont gain the ability to open every section of every level until the end.

Just keep playing until you finish the game and get as many as you can. You should be able to get everything from the last two levels and not have to replay those (Rumpelstiltskin's Palace and Dragon's Keep ). Donkey's ability to kick open gold locks, should be the last special power. good luck

Thanks for the info. How long did it take you to plat?

I would say it's in the 8-10 hour range.

This game will have a guide eventually but you definitely don't need one. I'm about to finish this up and here are a couple tips that may help.

1. You have to play pretty much every level again because each character has a special attribute that they earn through the game. This means that after the game is completed, you have to go back to get all the treasure chests. So... Play through each level as you like... you don't have to waste time getting all chests on your first run through of the level.

2. If I did the game over again I would probably have bought the "Money Up" purchases first from Cookie in the Ogre Camp... just because you'll earn a lot more money as you go along from battles and enemies. That'll help toward getting the rest of your purchases faster.

Besides that the game is pretty simplistic. It's a fun game and it sort of follows the movie but loosely. Same beginning and end but totally different senarios (not that most of you care). But hopefully these tips help to get the platinum faster.

Thanks for the info. Just finished Iron Man 2 (easy platinum) and got Shrek in the mail today from Gamefly. Looking to start it tomorrow, so I will use your advice.

I think if there is going to be a guide for anything it should maybe be a map or description showing where each chest/special item is. I have three of the 100% trophies left and continously keep missing one secret item/and or chest in Rumple's Palace, Docks and Catacombs.. I know it's not hard, but I seriously cannot find the last estimated 4-5 items/chests total that I am missing to plat. But yeah, game was really fun and I did enjoy playing it definitely, its not too hard, but not so easy that you wanna fall asleep!
