Unlimited Items + Money [Doesn't affect trophies]

There is a cheat which allows you to get unlimited items & money, but I couldn't find anywhere that had it clearly written down. Alchemy is complicated and expensive as it is, which is why I only started doing this on my second playthrough. Here is how to do it.

There are 2 different ways to do it. The way you do it depends on if the item is droppable or not.

PREREQUISITES

• Lots of weeds/mushrooms of one type (eg Strength, Chaos, Fainting) OR lots of money to buy them.
• OPTIONAL: Bigger Jar (just makes the process quicker)
• OPTIONAL: Specializer Gecko (adds +20 to the jar - makes it quicker)
• OPTIONAL: Tincture Gecko (adds +5 to the jar - good for quickly getting exactly 555)

STEPS

1. Make Thrifty Ninja
2. Use Thrifty Ninja to make 2 Thrifty Ninjas
3. Use 2 Thrifty Ninjas to make Unlimited Thrifty Ninjas

STEP 1 - MAKE THRIFTY NINJA

• From Main Menu, Go to Tool Shelf -> Alchemy -> Blend
• Push or to change jars. Find an empty one or extract from one until it's empty.
• Choose your Weed/Mushroom type of choice. It doesn't matter which you pick as long as they are all the same type. Types are Chaos, Weakening, Fainting, Forgetful, Explosives, Heal, Strength, Speed, Expansion, Recovery.
• Click on it and it will hover over the jar. Click again and it will ask you "This will add a new component. Continue?". Click Yes to add it to the jar.
• Continue adding until you have it to a level of 555. (yes this takes the longest)

  You will not be able to do this in one go. When the jar is full, Extract all but 1 of the items. This will leave you with 1 left in the jar and will keep your number the same. You can then re-add more stuff to increase the number. Make sure you don't extract all of it by mistake or you will have to start at the start again.

• Click Extract to Special Item (it must be on 555 exactly to work). You will get a Thrifty Ninja, which is the key to all of this.

This "Thrifty Ninja" basically is a tool which you use once and then future items in that level are unlimited use. The Thrifty Ninja can only be used once, so this is why we make 99 of them.


STEP 2 - USE THRIFTY NINJA TO MAKE 2 THRIFTY NINJAS

You could of course skip this step and make a second thrifty ninja the way you made the first, but this way is a lot quicker, so do whichever you prefer.

For this you will need a droppable item that adds to a jars value. I used Specializer Gecko and Tincture Gecko as they add 20 and 5 to jars respectively which makes counting quick and easy.

WARNING: A Thrifty Ninja is 1 use only, so make sure you don't waste it. If you use it and muck up, just hit restart or die on the level. It will restart you with your Thrifty Ninja back in your list. Make sure you don't start a level that might accidentally complete by itself (eg a guy falling off a cliff) as when the level finishes, your Thrifty Ninja is gone. Also, each level lasts only 15 minutes, so make sure you make use of it before the time runs out.

• Open any level (like I said.. be careful it won't complete by itself)
• Equip your Thrifty Ninja and (in this example) a Specializer Gecko to your tool belt (to equip, press on the icon on the bottom left of the and it will bring up a menu allowing you to assign items.
• Use the Thrifty Ninja (This will seemingly do not much, but now when you use stuff, you amount won't lower)
• Use a Specializer Gecko. Your gecko count will stay the same and a gecko will run off. Run after it and pick it up. You now have 1 more gecko.
• Repeat until you have 99 geckos. I recommend doing this in a tight spot or facing a wall as it may be a pain to catch the gecko's again.
• Use the gecko's to make another 555 jar for another 2 Thrifty Ninjas.

This is also an easy way to earn this trophy.

STEP 3 - USE 2 THRIFTY NINJAS TO MAKE UNLIMITED THRIFTY NINJAS

Here's where it gets interesting. There are 2 seemingly useless cheats which we will now exploit to basically duplicate any non-droppable item (in this case, more thrifty ninjas).

RAGDOLL: Pause the game when in a mission. Hold +, press , , , , , , , you'll hear a "cling" sound if you enter the code successfully. Unpause and press ... you'll find your character fall down to the ground like a ragdoll (press to get back up.

EAT ANY ITEM: Pause the game when in a mission. Hold +, press , , , , , , , you'll hear a "cling" sound if you enter successfully. Unpause and then press or and your character will put any items in his mouth and eat them (yes even expensive items, so don't do this without thrifty ninja).

Here's how to duplicate non-droppable items (thrifty ninja in this example).

• Equip your 2 thrifty ninja's to your key ( also works).
• Use 1 Thrifty Ninja. (You now can push and use unlimited Thrifty Ninjas for this level)
• Input both RAGDOLL and EAT ANY ITEM cheats (see above for code).

  Pushing now drops you to the ground (press to get back up). Pushing now EATS a Thrifty Ninja Scroll (but don't worry - you have unlimited ones now).
  
  WARNING: Make sure to use 1 Thrifty Ninja first, then input the cheat codes or it won't work.

• Push to EAT a Thrifty Ninja Scroll, but quickly press and you will drop to the ground. If you did this quick enough, your Thrifty Ninja count should have increased by 1. Press to get back up and repeat to get up to 99 of these.

If you want lots of money, I recommend duplicating Exploding or Gourmet Salmon as they will net you 500 each.

Actually this has already been posted before, on a now deleted guide for this game.
I actually got a pm from a guy who saw that thread but then later forgot how to do it, so to help him, I google'd "Shinobido Duplicate Trick", and right there, on the second result on the first page of google, I found this page ( How to duplicate ninpo scrolls (Thrifty Ninja) - Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen Message Board for PlayStation Vita - GameFAQs ) that clearly indicates how to do everything step-by-step. All I'm saying is that it's not that hard to find.
Nonetheless, thank you for posting this here, it's actually really detailed and I'm sure it will help a lot of members around here

The problem is that it assumes you already know how to make Thrifty Ninjas and duplicate droppable items. It also is not very clear especially if you are new enough to the alchemy. If you also notice, their step 1 is starting with 2 Thrifty Ninja's.

Anyway - Not trying to start a fight. I did this because it simply was not clear enough and I see many people still asking how to use alchemy.

Well yes, my last post was based on the end of yours, and as I said, your guide is more detailed, but technically they DO teach you how to do the duplicate trick, they just DON'T explain how to do alchemy, unlike yours, but then again, Alchemy is something part of the game and not really part of the trick, now is it?
I'm also not trying to start a fight here, just clearing things up here :3

Guys i dont get this, i fill the jar, extract all but one, however i have to extract to smoke granades, sushi or flask. Ok, i have extracted to flask, now how do i re add the content i extracted back in the jar? I am not understanding, do i have to have 555 items to start with, to keep adding to the jar or can i re use the items i extract? What is the best thing to duplicate to finish deadly mode? What is masters approval, where do i get it? Sorry for the noobality

Yes, it doesn't matter what you extrat to. I extracted to flask and got a nice potion. You have to keep doing that until you have 555.
