The Corolla is really slow to start with but I modified it up to 1,231 performance points. Still had to change the difficulty to easy to beat the rival, his car is ridiculously fast. It's tough to get past him but once you do he completely gives up and falls way, way behind. |

Bad Company 2 has a similar thing like this - unlock all weapons, etc. for the multiplayer. |

I have mod a evo mk edition which is good on some tracks but can be hard to get round corners. I was wondering which cars people thought where the best alrounders. Thats for lv 1-20. The elimator stages can be a pain on this too. Time trials are easy.

The best car I've come up so far is the NFS Edition of Scion tC, which you get as a reward. It sticks to the track like a glue (at least compared to any other car in the game). Just stick with any 4WD car as they are much more manageable with DS3 controller as all RWD cars seems to have soap tires installed.
The driving mechanics are absolutely terrible in this game... you can take a corner with 100km/h with lower rank cars but if you try the same with A-class or Works converted car it will just slide out of the corner... not understeer, not oversteer but just sliding, even without accelerating or using brakes. Just... horrible... original Shift was way better in many ways (and even mastering Karussell corner wasn't as hard as rumors say) |

Almost all RWD cars are awful for the aforementioned reason... they have no traction whatsoever. You just can't accelerate before you're completely out of the corner and on a straight line, no matter how lightly you feather the accelerator. You'll get horrible oversteer 90% of the time, slowing down your lap times as well ruining your corner mastering.
Race slicks have awesome traction and for sure you can step on your gas coming out of the corner IRL... so much for Shift 2 being a race SIMULATOR.

Even if you can handle them, they are slower than FWD and AWD cars. I have about 15 players on each speedwall - top times are always posted with AWD cars like Murcielago and Skyline R32 with the exception of Caterham in few Modern C events and the events where you can only use RWD cars (drift, GT1, GT3, Muscle).
