While I believe that under ten minutes is tough to do, I'd say that time is just about right. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was that trophy be a gold one instead of a silver, since it is a very difficult challenge. However, 11 minutes might be too much time, as my initial time was 12 minutes and knocking off a minute off of that wasn't too difficult.

Granted, the game was out a good 24 hours before anyone posted a sub 10 time and this opinion is coming from one of the first two people to post a sub 10 time, so maybe my opinion isn't exactly the best one.

I haven't forgotten about the guide, it's just that my PS3 is broke right now, so it might be a while before I can post any new information.

Thing is, if Dre can get it less than 5 mins, then clearly 10 mins is fine. I don't agree it should be a gold trophy, especially if someone can do it twice in less than 10 mins LOL. Also, if you compare it to a trophy like Late Boomer (Super Stardust HD), Boss Rush seems far more do-able.

Despite the high ratio of luck vs skill, Dre has proven that there's a strategy to shave off a lot of time.

Indeed squodge,
I can beat Boss Rush in under 7 minutes every time, guaranteed, with my new strategy. It is really quite efficient.

I used to work for a video games company, and the games testers would literally play a game to death 10+ hours a day for at least a week. And they'd make sure that things were achievable. Of course, back in the day (it was 1996-98), games like "Broken Sword" got plenty of games testing, yet was full of bugs.

To be honest, I feel that the trophy system for Shatter was badly constructed. I don't agree that you should be rewarded with a trophy for completing each level. If you look at a game like Soldner-X, you get one trophy for completing the first level (to force you to complete one level), and the next level-related trophy is for completing the last level. Both are bronze IIRC. Even completing the game on Impossible is rewarded with 'just' a silver trophy. But the trophy system for that game is better thought out.

See, I don't agree with that statement. Just because there's a way to do it doesn't mean that it's not hard. There are strategies to beat Ninja Gaiden quickly, but that doesn't make it any easier. There are strategies to halve or get close to halving some of the Speed Runs and Time Trials in Mirror's Edge, but that doesn't make them any less difficult to beat normally. And Late Boomer is a hard trophy to get, but that doesn't make Boss Rush any easier. I could easily say if you compare Boss Rush mode to a Gold Trophy, say the Brothers in Arms trophy from that same game, and then use that as a comparison to conclude that Boss Rush is much, much, much harder and deserves a Gold Trophy.

Not saying you're wrong in thinking it should just be a Silver. Just disagreeing with your reasoning.

Well, if Dre shared his actual strategies with us, then perhaps it would be very easy for everyone to get the Boss Rush trophy. He's proven it can be beaten in less than half the time.

The speedruns in other games are generally harder to beat because the best times generally don't beat the allocated time by more than 50% lol. I agree my comparison was faulty, but you have to admit that speedruns in other games are much harder. I still haven't done Egg Roll 2&3 in Ice Age 3, and I've tried more than enough time grrr

I will share all of my strategies once someone else gets below 6 minutes.

You can all hold me to that.

Good man, Dre
You can be sure that it won't be me getting below 6 mins lol... I'll be lucky to even beat Boss Rush in less than 10 mins (I've managed it in something like 14 mins). I've followed the strategies, and even the 1st boss can take me 40-60 secs grrrr.
