How Do You Defeat Tadakatsu Honda?

I was thoroughly enjoying this game until Tadakatsu Honda showed up! Why would they put a robot in what's clearly an early period piece martial arts game?!?

Does anyone have any strategies to beat Tadakatsu Honda? No matter what I do I end up dying after he catches up with me and now I've stopped playing the game because it has frustrated me.

either come back when you are stronger to take him out
or run
i think during some of the mission you got to run away from him and the other mission he runs away from you to protect his lord
only one mission you got to fight him straight up

i played on easy for alll character first palythrough sooo its easier lol

Usually I'd just run, but sometimes I'll purposely let him hit me to red health and just spam special attacks

Every time I try to run from his ass, and I do as soon as he starts coming after me, he eventually catches up to me and decimates me. I do have the game on Hard, I believe, but I'll have to check. Do you pretty much have to hurry up and kill that last gatekeeper so you can flee through the area that opens up in order to escape that Honda bastard? (I have another reason to hate Honda vehicles! )

Yoshihiro once leveled up enough can unlock an ability to do 1 hit kills even to Tadakatsu, even on the Hard setting. However, timing that special move can be a pain at times. Another recommendation is to play as Keiji and equip his health regeneration ability once you get that when he too has been leveld up enough. Also, having Matsu equipped as an ally proves valuable here because she's the only one who drops rice balls for health recovery under normal circumstances. But the easiest way for me is to go at Tadakatsu with Magoichi when her 4 special items are equipped (acquired via beating the game with her 4 times) that turn her bullets into rockets. It's also fun to kick the crap out of Nobunaga this way too.

he is not that hard... i got to beat him several times on normal with different players.. if he gets your health to red run and get some rice buns and come back at him... just run from his basara attacks !

I would argue that Hondam isn't even the most historically inaccurate thing about this game by a fair margin. His presence doesn't really bother me so much.
