Introduction:
Episode 4: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls continues where Episode 3: They Stole Max's Brain left off. It is fairly linear and is divided into 3 distinct acts as opposed to 4 like its predecessors, although there are still the standard story-related trophies. Apart from missable trophies there is nothing to watch out for in this game.

With a guide you can easily run through the game collecting trophies, but I highly suggest your first playthrough be without a guide to solely enjoy the story. If you're just here for the trophies then feel free to skip straight to the trophy guide and/or walkthrough.

All the trophies in this game are missable with the exception of the story-related trophies. The list of missable trophies is as follows:

The reason for these being missable is because some characters and locations become unaccessible as the game progresses. Some of them are much easier than others and you will most likely get all of them except Telltale Loves You and Sawdust Laryngitis on your first run through without a guide if you are actively going after the trophies. Any trophies you miss can be easily taken care of in a subsequent playthrough, especially since you will know how to beat the game at that point.

Step 1:
Simply play the game through to the end and you will collect the 3 silver and 1 gold story-related trophies. I recommend against using a guide for your first run as it will take a lot of the fun out of it.

Step 2:
Start a new game and hunt down any remaining trophies; with the guide it should be relatively quick and easy as you can use the button to skip dialogue and speed through the game.

Telltale Loves You
Experienced a lot of fan service

This trophy requires you to hear a variety of references to past Telltale/Lucasarts games and a few movie references. The complete list and their source is as follows. Thanks to Nicholi_Anhelo for compiling the list.

Max
*When you talk to Max, pick the Random option multiple times and he'll mention several different characters from previous seasons like The Devil, Santa Claus, and The C.O.P.S.

Stinky's Diner
*Talk to Skun-ka'pe at the beginning of the game multiple times. Eventually, Sam will offer him a bottle of Banang (Season 2 and Tales of Monkey Island). [Thanks to dab198]
**IMPORTANT** Must be done BEFORE using the radio in the diner.

*Have Max use psychic ventriloquism on the Jukebox. He'll start to sing "I remember my childhood in Brighton..." before quickly being stopped by Sam. (Sam & Max: Hit the Road) [Thanks to mjc0961]
**IMPORTANT** Must be done BEFORE helping Stinky get out of the diner.

Bosco Tech
*One of the dialogue options with Momma Bosco (the first one asking about the Clone Master) will elicit a reaction from Max about the Soda Poppers (Season 1).

*Examine the door on the second floor of the room twice. The second time Sam will mention "not being able to hit the road" while the clones are running around. (Sam & Max: Hit the Road) [Thanks to mjc0961]

Cloning Pod area
*Examine the Dispenser (from Team Fortress 2) in the corner of the room. If you do it enough times, Sam will hit the dispenser with a wrench until it dispenses some Banang. When you try to get it, the dispenser will retract. Afterwords the item is unusable.

*Examine the Tentacles after you've spoken with Norrington and heard about the Cthonic destroyer. When you examine them, Max will mention wishing it was a friendly green tentacle (Day of the Tentacle).

*Use Sam's Gun on the clone pods. The things that the main computer says after a pod is shot reference a number of things (THX, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Les Miserables, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "In the Year 2525" by Zager & Evans, "58008" spelling Boobs when flipped upside down on a calculator, and Fahrenheit 451).

*When you use the Cthonic Destroyer on the Tentacles, Max will shout out "UNHOLY THIS!" (Tales of Monkey Island) [Thanks to Bucket]

Museum Office
*Examine the phone in Paperwaite's office twice and Sam will mention wanting to talk to his shrink, who is still on vacation. (Sybil from Seasons 1 and 2).


Attack of the Identical Assailants!
Escaped the siege at Stinky's

Story-related and cannot be missed, this trophy will pop after you enter the back-up escape tunnel.

Very Superspicious
Fully investigated the Clone Master suspects

Story-related and cannot be missed, you will get this trophy after you have fully interrogated Momma Bosco, Papierwaite and Stinky.

Dimensional Speed Dialer
Acquired the Cthonic Destroyer in 6 or fewer trips

In Momma Bosco's lab you will need to use the dimensional destabilizer in order to acquire the Cthonic Destroyer. Each of the knobs controls a different aspect of what happens to Sam. You need to have the 4 following things happen to him:

Mood - Sam needs to be giggling .
Fate - Use the future vision power, the correct one will show a giant Max dropping Sam into his mouth.
Effect - A flash of light, you will know this when you see it and Max will make a comment to the effect of it being bright.
Encounter - Sam needs to encounter the insects, use the mind reading card to find out what Sam encountered.

While it seems that the combination from left to right changes each game it always contains a 1 2 3 3. You can always save beforehand and after you find the right combo just reload and put it in.

Disclaimer and Legal Stuff: this walkthrough was made for the good people at PS3Trophies.org. If your going to post it else where I don't mind, just don't plagiarize it.

This walk-through complements the trophy guide I already posted and if you follow it, it should let you complete the game and collect all the trophies in a single run.

Part 1: Stinky's Diner (Time to Boil the Haggis)

Head to the top right corner and talk to General Skun-ka'pe 3 times until Sam offers him Banang, be sure to do this before anything else. Just Below Skun-ka'pe there's a pile of peanut butter balls that look like tenis/baseball's grab one from the pile, Go behind the counter and press the secret button. Next turn on the radio to acquire the Mind Reading psychic power. Talk to Stinky and ask her about the Secret Tunnel.

Go into the psycic powers and choose Mind Reading and use it on: Stinky, Sam and Grandpa Stinky, next choose the Rhinoplasty power and choose the DeSoto photograph finally activate the Rhinoplasty and turn into the DeSoto.

Next talk to Stinky and choose BACKUP Tunnel and then go back into psychic powers and use the cards to read her mind again.

Next go into you menu and choose to eat the peanut butter ball with then head over to the right and grab a treat from the freezer.

Head down-screen to the toaster and choose to activate the secret tunnel, use the Fudgecicle on the samulacrum arm that popped out when you tried to use the toaster, then use the toaster again. Attack of the Identical Assailants! should pop at this point.

Part 2: Who's the Clone Master? (Gimme Back My Hat!)

Talk to max and choose random until he starts repeating himself, then head towards the hovering platform and choose the cavern of cloning pods, open your item menu and use your gun until you get the Fahrenheit 451 reference. Pod Pumper should pop at this point. Head left to the clone cooker controls and use them to make some tentacles appear, to finish with this room head left of the tentacles and use the curious dispenser until a can pops out then is retracted as Sam tries to take it.

Our next destination is the "patchouli smelling tunnel" which is the left of the 2 tunnels on the right side of the screen. It will take you to a room with a door and a garbage can, examine the garbage can to find Sal's Resignation Letter, open the menu and examine the letter with , open the psychic powers menu and choose Teleportation and then "Sal's New Job". After the cutscene pick up the ventriloquist dummy to acquire the Psychic Ventriloquism power, open the pshycic power menu and Choose Mind Reading and use it on the newspaper machine. Tell 'Em Penn Says Hi should pop at this point.

Now open up the psychic powers menu and choose psychic ventriloquism and use it on Sal, Bluster Blaster and then the warehouse door, and use Mind Reading on Sal, Bluster Blaster and the Clones, go and talk to Bluster Blaster and Choose the following conversation options: Bluster Blaster > Bosco to get Bosco's Letter. Next choose teleportation and choose Stinky's Cell, Once back in the Diner open the psychic powers menu and choose the psychic ventriloquism power and use it on Stinky, Grandpa Stinky, Flint Paper, the Dogglegangers and the jukebox. Talk to Flint or Stinky and then choose any conversation option for the next 3 choice they all lead to the same result. Now open the psychic powers menu and choose Mind Reading and choose Grandpa Stinky and Flint Paper.

Open the powers menu and choose teleportation and then Sal's New Job, use the psycic ventriloquism on either Bluster Blaster or the warehouse door either will work, now talk to Sal and choose the Cake dialogue option. Open the powers menu again and choose rhinoplasty again and use it on the cake to imprint it. Now use teleportation and go back to the Diner using Stinky's cell, *** IMPORTANT *** before you proceed any further make sure you have used mind reading and ventriloquism powers on everyone/everything in the room and have turned into the Desoto, even if it means having to go back to Sal and copying the cake again after you turn into the Desoto. If you have done this use rhinoplasty and activate it to turn into the cake.

Now go down the secret tunnel or teleport to Stinky's Cell head back up to the tunnel that had the door that had the garbage can and the door and try to open the door. Use Mind Reading on Papierwaite then try the security panel. Once in the conversation exhaust all conversation options. Open the power menu and use ventriloquism on Dr. Norrington/ Yog-Soggth, Papierwaite and the windows and Mind reading on both Dr. Norrington/ Yog-Soggth and Papierwaite, and check the phone on the desk twice before leaving.

Head back through the tunnel outside the office and once in the clone cavern use ventriloquism on Important cloning pod, Sal and Stinky, and examine the tentacles again as well as the important cloning pod. Use the tunnel to the far left in this screen and you will arrive in Bosco Tech. use ventriloquism and mind reading on Harry and Superball. Head to the right and step on the glowing platform to get up to the upper level. Use psychic ventriloquism on the armoire and then try to open the impenetrable door twice. Step back onto the platform and go talk to Harry and choose Seance > Dead Relatives. Go to the table and ring the gong to start the Seance. Open the powers menu and use mind reading and ventriloquism on Harry and Super Ball again. Choose to Bamboozle Harry then select Uncle Morty, use Ventriloquism on the picture Harry puts on the table, then Mind Reading on Harry again, then finally Ventriloquism on the picture again.

Next up use Ventriloquism on Momma Bosco's ghost, and then talk to her and exhaust all conversation options, then use Mind Reading on Her and talk to her again and choose the new option Who Hired You and then Clone Master until it is exhausted. Now use NOW can you help? then I've got an idea... and exhaust the 2 new conversation options you will obtain Momma Bosco's DNA and Very Superspicious should pop at this point.

Before you do anything else ***SAVE*** your game. choose the dimensional destabilizer. now in order to get the Cthonic Destabilizer you need to send Sam to a specific dimension. Each knob controls a specific factor: Mental State, Vision, Fate and Effect upon reapearance, you need these specific factors to get the Destabilizer:

Mental State: Laughing (Sam will be laughing if you got this right)
Vision: Bugs (use Mind Reading and if Sam talks about bugs crawling all over you got this right)
Fate: Getting eaten by a giant Max (use the future vision powers and if you got it right you will see a giant Max dropping Sam into his mouth.)
Effect upon reappearance: Flashing Light (if you got this right a sphere of light will pulse twice and Max will comment about the brightness.)

Combination seems to be random as I've had it come up 2133 and 1233 on separate playthroughs, however it will always contain 1 2 3 3. If you got the Cthonic Destroyer in 6 or less tries Dimensional Speed Dialer will pop. If you took more than 6 tries just reload and enter the correct sequence to get it. Head back to the cloning room and use your new Cthonic Destroyer power on the tentacles, at this point Telltale Loves You should pop.

Use Momma Bosco's DNA and Bosco's Letter on the now accessible clone cooking controls and then use mind reading and ventriloquism on the now living Momma Bosco. *** Important*** this is basically the point of no return if you have skipped something be sure to go back and do it before proceeding or you may not be able to get all the trophies. Head to the top of the room and choose to look carefully at the platform, select the platform light and use the gun on them. Look carefully at the platform again and this time use the gun on the coffee mug, now use the teleportation power and choose Stinky's Cell. When 4 choices come up choose "Go to the toy box" back at the warehouse activate Psychic Ventriloquism and Part 3 will begin and His Master's Voice will pop.

Part 3: The Finale (The Doggleganger Conga Line Starts Here)
press to switch to Sam
talk to Charlie Ho-Tep and choose Junior
Mess with Piano and choose "Take 2 Tablets 4 the Mind Plague"
Select the piano to change music and select "Flaming Crowns"
Select the piano to change music and select "Face of Darkness"
press to switch back to Max and run all the way right and into the Dogglegangers
Grab swinging Tentacle
Use Mind Reading and Psychic Ventriloquism on Charlie Ho-Tep Peeping Brain will pop at this point
Use mind reading on Sam and the Eternal Darkness portrait will appear near Max. Switch back to Sam and change the music then read his mind using Max's Mind Reading power until 3 other portraits appear near max.
Activate Psychic Ventriloquism and use it on the statue of liberty and Sam which voice you choose doesn't matter Sawdust Laryngitis will pop at this point. Use the Rhinoplasty power and going from right to left turn into each of the pictures (Saving Charlie for last) at this point Greater Than Meets the Eye will pop.
Use Psychic Ventriloquism on The Devil's Toy-box and choose the Norrington Voice. This will finish the game and net you the last trophy Psychic Stare-Down

I talk to her and use all possible conversation options til they are all grey. I use Mind Reading on her and than i talk to her again as the guide says. But i have no new options as "Who Hired You" and "Clone Master". But ive done everything in your guide 1:1.

Ok. I think examinating the Cloning Pot at the Beginning doesnt work. You have to talk to Momma B, than use mind reading on her. She thinks "i hope sam and max dont take a close look at the cloning tanks". Than you have to go back to the Tunnel and examinate the Cloning Tank. Sam will find out that they are made by "Boscotech". After that you have to go back to Boscotech and talk to Momma B. You have now the Option "YOUR Cloning Tanks". Use that twice. Now use Mind Reading again. After that talk to her again. Now you have the Option who hired you and Clone Master.

Thats the Way it worked for me.

Hmm looks like i did miss something i'll change that now, thanks for telling me. I think really all you need to do is check the important cloning pod any time before you try to finish interrogating Momma Bosco as I've been able to enter the room and go from starting the Seance to getting the DNA sample without having to backtrack. Other than that snafu did you run into any other hiccups along the way?

I missed the Trophy for Reading all Minds but i dont know if it is my fault or something is missing in your guide. I havent watched the List posted at the Trophyguide. I only played with the walkthrough.

You need to look at the cloning tank at least once for Sam and Max to notice that it says "Bosco Tech" on it.

Yes i know. Perhaps i forgot it the first time. But it makes more sence after you talked to momma boscos ghost. Because when you use the mind reader on her she says "i hope sam and max dont look closer at the cloning tanks".

Did a run doing all the stuff listed under Telltale loves you without the trophy popping. I'll try again and see if it just glitched for me, but maybe theres some stuff missing.
