Introduction:

Rocketbirds is one of the newest titles in the PSN category. In this sidescrolling Indie game, you take on the role of Harboiled. A war hardened chicken who was taken from his home as a child to serve the penguin army. Your goal in this story is to overthrow Putzki, the emperor of Albatropolis.
Alternatively, you can play the coop campaign and chose amongst a group of characters in a mission to rescue the generals daughter.
Lets get started, shall we?



Step 1: Complete the single player campaign
First, complete the single player story to get a majority of the trophies as well as a feel for the games mechanics. Along the way you're going to want to keep an eye out for signs using Lizardking_74's guide found below. You'll also want to make sure to brainbug every penguin type, as you MUST do this is one playthrough. Also kill every penguin on the 3 blimps in chapters 3 and 8 + escaping the last one with 40 seconds remaining.
By the end of this step you should have the following:

Step 2: Coop Campaign
After completing single player, either grab a friend or attempt the coop story by yourself. Either way it isn't very hard and shouldn't take too long to finish. Also make sure to carry your partner for "Friendly Transit".
By the end of this step you should have:

Step 3: Clean-up VIA chapter select and Fear The Spur
You shouldn't be missing much, if any at this point. If you need to go back for a few miscellaneous trophies, or you missed some signs along the way this is your chance. You'll also need to go back to chapter 15 and knife Brno.

Mission Complete
Overthrow Putzki and liberate Albatropolis

Story related. Cannot be missed.
This will come after brainbugging Putzki in chapter 15 and killing him.


Dirty Half-Dozen
Complete the Cooperative game mode

Similar to Mission Complete, this will come at the end of the coop story, after killing Brno and freeing the General's daughter for the 10th and final time.
Note: You need 2 controllers for this trophy. There is NO online coop.


Hardboiled Seal
Kill 100 penguins or clones

See Hardboiled Orca.


Hardboiled Orca
Kill 300 penguins or clones

This is Missable!
So long as you kill every enemy you come across this will come naturally. I got Harboiled Seal (100 kills) halfway through chapter 5, and this (300 kills) during chapter 13, when you fight 10 waves of enemies.

I didn't label 100 kills as missable simply because there is NO way you won't have 100 kills by the end of the game unless you try to avoid the enemies.

Signs are pretty much the collectibles of this game. They're little red squares with a circle in the middle and are very well hidden throughout the game. Refer to this thread.

Flight Instructor
Juggle an enemy for 10 seconds

When you stand directly in front of an enemy and press you will throw the enemy back instead of shooting them. The easiest way to do this is to back an enemy into a corner and just spam until the trophy pops. A good place to do this is in chapter 6. In the same location as "Laser Assist". When juggling the penguin he will hit a wall that he can't pass until you do. Just stand there holding to make your life easy.

Kill a helicopter penguin with his own missile

Kill 6 helicopter penguins with their own missiles

This is Missable!
Helicopter Penguins will first appear in chapter 3. They are the white penguins that shoot heatseeking missiles at you. Once the missile is following you follow the Helicopter. You want to try and get close to him so the missile kills him upon impact. Unfortunately, this won't come until chapter 8 as there are only 3 helicopter penguins that spawn from the small blimp.


Hydrogen Run
Escape the large zeppelin with 40 seconds or more on the timer

This is probably the hardest trophy. Not because it's difficult, but because everything has to flow just right in order to make it out in time.
Some tips:

• Don't waste time killing penguins. See those trenches? Shoot or throw them in there!
• If you're having trouble try using the shotgun to blast them into said trenches. (Thank you Denyer for this)
• Never roll! Always run so you can string that straight into a jump.
• If you fall or got shot reload the checkpoint. You probably won't make it.
• Stick to the middle ground. If you jump to those higher stand-alone ledges you'll only wast time.
• If you can jump to a segment and skip a few jumps, do so. One example of this would be near the end of the run. You will hit a wall and need to jump up two ledges, than jump to the right where a penguin is patrolling. You can easily come in from the left, jump to the middle platform, jump to the platform with the penguin and continue.

Aside from that it's all about planning, coordination and practice.


Door Sentry
Kill 30 Penguins as they step out of a door

This is Missable!
This trophy is easier than it seems. You don't have to kill 30 penguins coming out of actual doors. When you move from one segment of the level to another and the screen filters, is also considered a door. An easy way to get this is during chapter 7. After picking up grenades a penguin will say that he's going to stay where he is, where it's safe. Toss a brainbug at him and run all the way to the right. You will reach a point where an endless spawn of penguins is. Simply stand there and kill them as they enter.


Brainbug Fever
Brainbug 30 enemies

This is Missable!
Chances are you won't brainbug 30 penguins unless you grind it out. An easy place to get this is in chapter 5. At one point you'll need to call an elevator up with a penguin on it so you can brainbug him. Simply do that, have him shoot himself and repeat as needed. This can be done on any location with infinite spawning enemies, however.


High Treason
Brainbug the penguin above the star in Chapter 6 (Single Player)

This one can be a bit tricky. At the beginning of chapter 6 you'll see a penguin in a watchtower complaining about how he has to go to the bathroom. Keep those watchtowers in mind. Continue through the level until you reach the second set of watchtower penguins, they'll be right after killing a penguin who's hiding in a bunker. Look at the one on the left. See the vague black star? Toss a brainbug up there for your trophy.


Turncoat
Kill 20 enemies while brainbugging

This is Missable!
This should come naturally while brainbugging, but I still suggest you to go a little out of your way to kill enemies with a brainbugged penguin if you have the chance.
Note: People have reported this to be glitched, it is not. You must kill single penguins. As in ones that don't infinitely respawn!


Bird Brained
Brainbug at least one penguin from each of the 7 penguin ranks, including Putzki

This is Missable!
The seven classes of penguin are:

1. Soldier Penguin- your typical penguin enemy (any chapter)
2. Elite Soldier- They're the ones with the hat and armband, similar to a general. (chapter 8)
3. Red Soldier- The penguins that wear a full red suit (chapter 8)
4. Shield Soldier- The big penguins with a shield. They're easily depicted by the star on the shield. (chapter 11)
5. Elite Shield- THERE IS ONLY ONE! He appears near the end of chapter 12. He has NO star on his shield and is a darker greenish color, so be wary of him.
6. Rocket Launcher Penguin- The penguin in white with the rocket launcher (chapter 8)
7. Putzki- The emperor penguin. Impossible to miss. (chapter 15)

Fear the Spur
Kill Brno with the knife

To obtain the knife you first need to activate all 45 signs. Once that's done head over to chapter 15. If you've completed the story you know how this fight's gonna go. If not, I'll break it down.

• First, drop an ammo crate and a health crate by pressing at their respective switches.
• At the beginning of the fight, it will be you against Brno. Now, you can run the entire length of the battle zone as it is an infinite loop. Use this to your advantage to shoot him in the back.
• After a couple of shots Brno will draw his shield. Use this time to run back around the opposite direction.
• Repeat the above until you've taken out roughly 1/3 of his health. At this point Putzki will summon red penguins to help him out.
• Continue the loop path taking out the red penguins as you go (I suggest pushing the ammo/ health buttons as you run the loop so you always have one at the ready).
• When Brno's health is a little more than halfway down, Putzki will order Rocket Launchers to join the fight.
• At 1/3 health, Brno will pull his shield up and it will not go down. Keep looping around to shoot his exposed back.
• As a side note, stay near the 'exit' for the panel you're on for a quick escape as Brnos' recovery is rather fast.
  By 'exit' I mean the point where the level will scroll over to the next segment.

You don't need to waste time draining Brnos' health as the knife is the strongest weapon in the game. It penetrates his shield and will only take about 15 stabs to kill him. (Thanks to Mohannad88 for this, as I originally thought you needed to drain his health first.)


Two Birds One Stone
Kill 2 enemies with one grenade

There are more than enough spots to earn this trophy. The easiest that I've found is in chapter 13, when you're fighting the 10 waves of enemies. On wave 8 a group of clones will spawn in. Group 3+ of them up and lob a grenade in there.


Bazookin'
Kill 6 enemies with the bazooka

As far as I know there's only one spot to do this on. In chapter 8. When you first enter the medium blimp you'll need to brainbug a Rocket Launcher penguin in order to open a door. Before doing that open fire onto the group of enemies just to your left. There should be exactly 6.


Friendly Transit
Carry the other cooperative player for 500 meters in the same chapter without dying

When in coop mode your teammate can jump on top of you so you can carry him. You have to carry him/her for 500m in the same level, without dying. If you're not a fan of staying alive, you can simply walk back and forth right at the beginning.


For What Reason?
Launch the silo missile

During chapter 1 you'll eventually enter a jungle area with 3 missiles in the background. One will have a button in front that you can push. Press to launch it for your trophy.


Personal Space
Punch or kick 100 times

This is Missable!
Similar to Flight Instructor. When you get close to an enemy and push you'll punch/kick an enemy. Simply do this 100 times for your trophy.


One Shot One Kill
Kill 10 enemies, each with one gunshot

This is Missable!
This trophy requires the shotgun. Once you obtain it simply get close to an enemy and push the trigger. Do this 9 more times. Simple as that.

Alternatively, you can get this in coop mode by choosing the Heavy Gunner character.


Laser Assist
Kill an enemy by knocking him into a laser door

At one point in chapter 6 you will drop into a sewer. There will be a penguin above you complaining about his shift. Toss a brainbug up there and walk him straight into the laser. (Thanks to Dark_Phantom_89 for this tactic.)


Excessive Stacking
Stack all 3 crates near the end of Chapter 11 (Single Player)

During chapter 11 you will need to stack crates using the elevators to reach a high ledge. Once you're over you can circle back around to push them onto another elevator and stack them once more. If done properly, a penguin will come out to compliment you on your excellent work.

If you're still having trouble, here's a complete walkthrough on it.

• After going down the lift and killing 2 penguins you will go up another lift. As soon as you step off the floor will open and you will land directly in front of the crates.
• Push a crate onto the left lift and bring it down. At the bottom push it off the lift and call down the right lift.
• Out the crate onto the right lift. Repeat this process 2 more times so that all 3 crates are stacked on the right side, middle floor.
• Use the crates to jump to the left side wall, and push the button () to call the crates up higher.
• Go through the subway killing the penguins until you reach the lift. Take it down and clear out the 2 rooms. (Make sure to grab the Red Keycard)
• Go back to the subway lift and take it up to the train platform.
• Grab a crate and bring it over to the lift. Go down 1 floor and push the crate through the right vent to gain access to a high ledge. After jumping over and killing the guard, open the door and bring the other 2 crates down with you.
• Push one crate onto the far right lift and call it up. Push another under the lift and call it down so the 2 stack. Repeat for the last crate.
• After all 3 crates are stacked call the lift up 2 floors than use them to reach the high ledge above you.
• Once up there use the Red Keycard to call the crates all the way up to the end.
• Take the right lift up and a penguin will come out to compliment your hard work!

There's really not much to say about these trophies. You have to kill all penguins on all 3 blimps within the time limit. All I can say is search every room and don't be afraid to use your time. Most penguins are right out in the open, but most won't appear until the countdown starts. You can always reload the checkpoint.

Make sure you've collected all the 45 signs. Once it's done, you'll unlock the knife.

Can you tell me what level the Zeppelin escape is in? maybe add it to the trophie description too, its good to know when to expect this. Looking good so far tho.
